Fortunately, I was able to book for 400 for 4 days and 3 nights in October through AAA. Has anyone been there lately, is it still nice? We usually go to Cypress Pointe, but we were able to FINALLY GET THE VISTANA. Help!!!

we were just there for a quick four night stay.

We had a 2 bdr unit in Lakes, which was immaculate. Checkin was a breeze (we were staying by the night on this trip; if doing a full week be sure to use the diamond lane checkin on the website). The first unit they gave us wasn't ready. One of our party members wasn't feeling well, and I went back in and begged for any unit in the resort which was ready at 11 am. They found me one. We were very happy there. In fact, we are not at the Hard Rock at Universal, and it is much dirtier and less well-maintained than the Vistana.

The ony downside that we experienced at Vistana was stopping for the welcome gift (which now only has local coupons you can get from any flier anyplace, no Vistana cooupons.) Gwen, our "expert", was downright witchy when I firmly said no to the "guest breakfast." I then got a call from another guy who was insulting when I reitered no breakfast this time. Those were the only 2 contacts, and other than that, we were delighted. A very good stay.

I had a similar experience and we're owners there. They get very pushy about the "breakfast" (wink...wink). We skipped it, and skipped their phone calls after a nasty attitude from some woman in VIP check-in at the Cascades Rec Center. About 24 hours later, a note was left on our door when returning from the parks, scolding us that we didn't call about the breakfast considering "how hard they worked to get us into our room early). We checked in at 3 pm----wow, big deal. Got an additional 3 phone calls during the week......each phone call the bribe went up to attend the breakfast. It went from $40, to $60 to $80. We just ignored the calls.

Don't get me wrong.....the resort is beautiful. We own in the Fountains and stayed in a Fountains II villa that was very clean and in good condition. Just don't like the pushy sales people. To be honest....they are pushing me to want to sell my timeshare week. I am fed up with it. Get this treatment every year.

I hope you have a nice stay----just avoid the "welcome gift" pickup and unplug your villa phones when you get in ;)
