Anyone a fan of I Love Lucy?

Ethel and Fred HATED each other. You never see them kiss on screen.

Yes, I read Fred overheard Ethel complaining about being married to an old man on the show early on and hated her ever after. I also heard Fred was at the race track every day when it was in season.

What? Dang. It's like you just told there is no Santa Claus. :( :)

Sorry to burst another bubble but William Frawley (Fred) was an alcoholic. There was a clause in his contract that stated he had to be sober while he was at work.

And yes, I posted that Vivian Vance was two years younger than Lucy and Frawley was 22 years older than Vance.

I Love Lucy is my weekend morning treat. This morning I can't find it. :(. Was it on Hallmark? Ugh. Not sure. But Lucy, Ricky and The Mertzes have had coffee with me every Saturday and Sunday for a long time now. It's my comfort show. :)

One of my fuuniest Lucy moments was when Lucy's rich friend came to see her and the rich friend asked if she "summered" in Miami or West Palm Beach and Lucy was trying to get her answer first! Lol! That was the martian episode.

This has been my favorite show since I was a little kid. I grew up in the same area that Lucy was born in and I think we are related somehow. So that is why I watched her as a kid. I watch every morning on the Hallmark channel. I don't think it was on this morning because of their Christmas shows :headache:

I can't find where I read it now but I did read that it was a joke between Lucy and Vivian that she had to weigh more then Lucy did.
I also read that Vivian was happy when William Frawley died that she heard in a restaurant and got up and cheered :confused3

My dad just bought me a Lucy barbie doll and a picture I plan on framing of Lucy and Desi in an almost kiss.

IMDb says

Legend has it that a clause in her television contract required her to stay 10 pounds heavier than costar/producer Lucille Ball. Actually, this contract never existed, at least not in legal, binding form. It was a mock contract given to Vance by Ball as a gag gift sparking the legend it was a real contract

I found this online and thought it was so funny!

"A Lucy bit I found terrific, in a book called Desilu – The Story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, by Coyne Steven Sanders and Tom Gilbert.

Kay Ballard talks about a trip to Palm Springs to visit Lucy: "Lucy and I were riding bikes when a dog came out of the woods, foaming at the mouth. She just looked at the dog and yelled, "GET THE **** OUT OF HERE!" The dog ran back into the woods. I turned to her and said, "That is why you are queen of the world and I am nothing."" :rotfl:

We always visit the Lucy museum when we are at Universal Studios.
