Anybody use EA lately?

A month ago for a few days.
We rented an intermediate and took the first car we came across.
It was a Misubishi (sp) with less than 4,000 miles.
But can't really say what was available.
We dropped it off at the Car Center outside of MK.

Come on all your EA members.....I was wondering the same thing too!

It wasn't exactly recent, but when I was there the first week of December, the aisle only had intermediates (Grand Am, Alero) and some cars I thought were even smaller. I had booked full size (same price as intermediate), so I went over to that aisle and they had about 15 or 20 full size, mostly Malibu's. I got an Olds Intrigue.

Thanks DebbieB

Did you ask a National rep first? or did you just walk over by yourself to get the full size car?

I booked the full size too and will be travelling next month.

I picked up a car Friday 2/8. They had the Mitushibi Spiders, Grand Ams and the other Mitusbishi and Grand Prixs. I noticed about the same on my return on Sunday with the addition of a truck. I took the spider, it had 6,000 miles on it and was clean.

My reservation said "full size OR your choice at the Emerald Aisle". So I just went over to the full size aisle and it was not a problem. I didn't ask permission since my reservation said full size. That was the first time out of 4 EA reservations that there was not a full size car on the Emerald Aisle. My previous trips I got a nice full size on the EA with low miles (one was a Camry with 200 miles). This time it was hard to find a low mileage car in the full size aisle. The Intrigue had about 9,000, alot had 20,000-25,000.

The full size aisle was right next to the EA (on B terminal side).

Thanks DebbieB

I didn't think to look at the odometers before picking a car. We usually just look at the color...

Anyone else feel that Malibus are mid size cars?

You and I may think a Malibu is a full size. Rental car companies don't. The Malibu is a full size car for National.

My personal car is a Grand Am and I don't think the Malibu I rented 2 years ago was any bigger. I couldn't complain because on that trip I had reserved a compact (not EA) and had an upgrade coupon to an intermediate. There were no intermediates in the garage, so the attendant pulled the Malibu off the full size aisle.

Rented March 2 there were quite a few selections on the Aisle we ended up chosing a Suzuki SUV type (the larger one) and it was great cause it had just enough luggage space.

There were quite a few of everything at 12pm that day....

Our family rented two cars on March 4 on the full size aisle and picked a Monte Carlo and a Buick Century. Both were in very good shape with low mileage, and there were lots of other cars to choose from. We just went with what we liked - our 6 and 4-year olds loved the Century so much they wanted us to take it home - LOL! Good experience with quick pick-up and return as well. We'll definitely use National again.

We got a Chevolet mini-van on 03/07/02 with 6 miles on it. There were several cars and about 4 mini-vans on the Emerald Isle. I didn't pay much attention to the cars when I saw the mini-vans.

Thanks for the replys. I was starting to get worried with all the negative post about EA. Now if I can just get a Caddy when I go...........

FWIW, I got a silver mistubishi galant in Tampa's EA. Nothing exciting, but it drove quite nicely :)

i have reserved a standard from the aisle. is there separate aisles for different size cars- OR ONE aisle with all different cars ie. standards, full, mini-vans, etc.?

ALSO, exactly what do you need upon driving away just ressie #, credit card & driver's license, right? do i need to bring a copy of car insurance, too?

thanks, seeing the mouse in 26 days!
