wouldn't it be great if a disney hotel actually allowed pets? i mean, have a block of rooms in a value resort available for pet owners with an attached day kennel with dog walking services....that would make loads of money for the company i would think. we are going in januaray and our boarding our boys while we are gone, but if the option existed we would MUCH rather have them there with us....am i crazy or is this a good idea? i know the parks have kennels, but they aren't an option for on site guests other than fort wilderness. back me up here peeps! that's barley the beagle and jackson the boston in my avatar!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: I thought it was hillarious. DH thought it was disgusting and that they should have been penalized somehow plus kicked out!!!:rotfl2:

Was the said beagle smoking in a non-smoking area carrying his 4 year old refillable mug while his 4 paws had heelie's on and using flash photography in a dark ride before he got in this so-called baby carriage????

dang rule breakers!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

just another funny post!

:rotfl2: :lmao:

I do have a serious question...does disney have appointed pet friendly rooms for service animals? I ask because my friends daughter recently got a service animal because of her mental illness. The dog, officially designated as a service animal, helps to calm her daughter down and focus. It works well for them.

Any WDW guest can use the kennels and they are located all over the place. If Disney did have such a set up, you can bet it wouldn't be a value resort. It would be a high dollar place. I'm glad they don't allow it. As many people now who feel like they don't have to follow the rules, it could be way worse if people were allowed to book certain rooms for the family including pets. My cats and dog stay at the vets at Kitty Camp and Puppy Camp for our trips. Or we have friends who come in and take care of them.

When we were at DW in September I saw a woman carrying around a small dog that was wearing one of those "service dog' thingies. I have heard of dogs for the hearing impaired and such and wonder if that was what was going on or a scam? :confused3 She was not hiding the dog at all.

Just wondering. I like to exercise my brain once in awhile so it does not get stuck in neutral.

BTW, Lustergirl is good folks. I have met her and she was quite friendly and nice. If you could see her smile you would think so too. :)

Slightly Goofy

Hey Slightly Goofy,

How are you? Thanks for the great comment. We are headed back down 11/29-12/5, just me and the hubby. We are staying at CSR because of a great code I received. Never stayed there before but I hear it is quite beautiful. I am kind of glad because I would of been staying at AS Sports, which I do love by the why, but that week is Pop Warner and know the resort will be overflowing with young teeny boppers- ha!!

I did giggle when you said he rocked the carriage. The only reason i giggled is because a picture came to mind. But i don't find it funny. If someone is severly allergic to dogs and they stay there after, they are bound to get sick. Not that house cleaning doesn't clean good but, some places can be missed i suppose. I've heard of stories when they forgot spots or didn't exactly clean good. What's also very bad is that you don't know if this dog had fleas, ticks or anything disease. You can't just assume he didn't. I would be disgusted to find fleas, or even feces on carpet. GROSS!! Can you imagine taking that home with you and then they spread onto your carpet and you have to fumigate your house. Some things are overlooked.

On second thought my cat really wants to go now. He just gave me a speech and i nodded... he gave me this look...

This is him preparing for the speech

This is him after telling him i won't be able to do that...

He said he's ready to go. He already got in the box and put on his ears. In an odd way...

He would be bound to eat all the mickey ears, look at his fatself

(I'll stop there i'm getting carried away with his pics!! :lmao:)

Now i'm taking second thoughts? :confused3

(ONLY KIDDING!)

Eviie, my cat looks IDENTICAL to yours!!! I have found Sasha's twin seperated at birth!!! She will even lay just like yours was!!!
She isn't the brightest crayon in the box though, I would hate to hear her speech :rotfl:

I am going to play devil's advocate here...

Take the same bus... put a dad on the bus... he pulls out a pack of cigs and lights up on the bus with kids all around him. Would this be funny? How many people would have reported him for smoking on the bus?

For many people pet dander can cause the same effects as second hand smoke.
The WAY they were sneaking the dog WAS funny but the fact that they were extremely irresponsible pet owners was not funny.

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and I LOVE them more than my own kids (well most days :rotfl::lmao: ) The dogs all have been to doggie classes and are EXTREMELY well behaved. I would never dream of taking my babies to Disney. The travel alone is stressful enough! Throw in having to stay in a stroller and hidden from view the entire time and you have a recipe for disaster!

My doggies stay with my mother when we go on trips. She loves my dogs (calls em her granddoggies hehe) and spoils them rotten. If I didn't have my mom, I would board them at a nice kennel in our area. Our cats go to our local vet as my mom is allergic to cats.

I am not one who cares what other people do. This would have bugged me enough to say something though. Its pet owners LIKE this that make good pet owners look bad.
If your pet is not welcomed, why bring them?

Besides ... Florida is REALLY bad about heartworms. I know there are many states that don't worry about heartworms being a problem and don't give their dogs heartworm pills. Do you think this particular family thought about this? What about the heat and humidity of Florida? A dog from up north will NOT be able to tolerate the summer of Florida without having heat stroke.

I know my dogs are clean, indoor, well groomed dogs. There are several diseases (worms included) that people can catch from dogs if the dog has not been taken care of properly. These germs and diseases can be in the hotel rooms (fleas too) long after the dog is gone.

Dogs are great, its the owners that are bad! :rotfl:

The poster did report the infraction (again cuddos to them) BUT disney chose not to do anything about it. So what room are you staying in???: The one they left behind for you?

Wow, you mean I could save the $500 it will cost me to board my 2 puppies? All I have to do is buy a stroller?:rotfl: We were not going to get a new puppy until after our trip, but these 2 rescues fell into our laps. I would never think of taking them to Disney. They are called Mickey and Minnie, but probably have no desire to go to Florida again as Minnie almost died on the way from the puppy mill auction in Florida to Atlanta and Mickey was so sick , the vet thought he wouldn't make it. Also, no stroller for mine! Dogs were meant to walk, not roll! (sorry, just a pet peeve!):sad2: I would have giggled at the reaction of someone peering in expecting a baby and getting a bark instead:rotfl2:

I agree 110% on the dogs are meant to walk!!! I never understood the carrying thing. DOGS LOVE walking and sniffing everything in the path... its part of their mental make up.

It was a BEAGLE!! (could see it's little snout poking out the side of the blanket!!)

The man just rocked the carriage and shushed the "baby"

Got to the Pop Century, watched them get out and wheel "baby beagle" to their room....

:rotfl: :rotfl: sorry, that is the funniest thing I've heard all day.....why the heck would anyone take a dog to a park? how much fun could a dog have sitting under a blanket?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: how much fun could it's owners have hiding it all day?:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry you feel this way. Many people feel as though pets are part of their family. High dollar, low dollar shouldn't matter. All I was getting at is that I thought it would be nice if people would be allowed to have pets in their room while vacationing. Don't flame me, but for some people children of the 4 legged variety are an only option and leaving them behind is painful. I'm not supporting the whole baby buggy scenario, simply making a suggestion. And don't worry, my dogs will be left at home well cared for, rules followed and all.

As I said before, I love my 4 legged babies too. I do stress when I leave them behind. I even pack them a suitcase full of their things :rotfl: to take to grandma's
I know my dogs are clean, disease and flea free. They sleep in my bed with me and know how to mind their manners. They are a huge part of our family.
The real issue comes in with OTHER PET OWNERS. Would someone try and save a few bucks by throwing their dog in the bathroom and shutting the door all week? yup! I mean who cares if they use the bathroom all over the hotel carpets, right? I mean thats what the maid is there for right?;)
So what if my dog chews up the desk.. its not MY desk!
Would they leave their dog in the room all day and night to cry, bark and howl disturbing other guest? you betcha!

Its sad but many MANY MANY dog owners do not properly take care of their pets!! Besides this... many pet owners don't take the time to socialize or train their dogs. I would be VERY upset if my children were bitten (or my dogs if I brought them) by an ill behaved dog.

In a perfect world where all dog owners treated their dogs the same way we treat our babies, I WOULD LOVE to bring my dogs with me. It would be fun to run with them along the beach at the GF or to take them swimming in the lake . As this is not a perfect world I would not expose my dogs to "bad dogs" just as I wouldn't expose my 2 legged kids to hoodlums and drug dealers :rotfl:

well i guess i will wait to be really really FLAMED here...........but give me a break. yeah , animals are part of your family, but are you kidding me.............sneaking them into a disney room is DISGUSTING.........if that were me I def.. would of FOLLOWED them and got the room number. yep you heard it right from the horses mouth, i would of followed them and got the room number and made sure the manager knew. are you kidding me..........do you know how many people with allergies this could really hurt. give me a break. i see it in super markets to. it think it is so stupid. and the people are selfish and rude. oh yeah, before the flaming, we have a young man in our work who has a seizure dog. the dog is absolutely wonderful, quiet, nice, clean ,etc. and so is the young man. that is a whole diff. story. this was RUDE people. ..........go flame away........................dont want to sleep at disney where some animal has been.............yeck........gross........dirty....yeck.........

I have a phobia to animals, not a dislike of them, just an irrational fear. I think it would be nice if some of the resorts had kennels on the ground so that they and their owner/families could visit for some time each day. I think it must be very stressful on animals that are hauled all that way down there, in unfamiliar surroundings and possibly a temperature change, different food etc. and then to be separated from their family. I would not like that for myself. :confused3

I would no sooner like to see a poor animal be mistreated than a child.

Since I do not choose to live with an animal I really do not want to share a room with animal hair though. I have asthma.

Lustergirl, you done went uptown on me. Poor us, the Colt just lost. My grandson must be sad tonight. Maybe we will see each other this trip? Tired and headed to bed soon. I will answer your PM tomorrow, if anyone gives me a spare minute. PS, you know where I will be staying. :rotfl:

Slightly Goofy

In May, as we were walking from the parking lot to the lobby to check in, we saw a teenage girl standing next to her family's car. We wondered what she was doing, but as we got closer, she was holding a leash with a Boston Terrier, while her family was inside checking in. As we passed her, the family was coming back to the car, and they all got inside and drove off to their room. I just wonder if the dog stayed all week with them, too....

Now, that issue I have is why in heaven's name that bus driver allowed a carriage on the bus, and didn't tell the guests that they had to fold it up. That's a big no-no. I have never seen a bus driver allow an unfolded stroller, carriage on the bus without taking the child (dog??) out and then folding it up.

I have. Last month a lady insisted her stroller was broken and wouldn't fold up. I was behind her on the bus and seated backwards, so I never noticed if the child was in or out of the stroller for the bus ride.
