Anybody seen a dog being smuggled into the resort in a baby carriage? We did!!

You are absolutely correct- different strokes for different folks. Personally I have seen alot of people violating disney rules- but am I going to run and tell on them- no!! I don't worry about anyone else except the fun time that my family is having. I leave disney to deal with the rule breakers!!

I'm with you. I'm there to have fun. We all see things in every day life that we could probably report. I can't live my life that way unless someone is in danger.
They should not have had a dog.. we all know that... but.. come on it is a funny story I think. I don't know what I would have done if i had seen that.:rotfl:

OUCH why so hostile...was that your doggie ? :flower3:

Not being hostile- just joking around!!
no my dog wouldn't fit in a stroller or carriage, let alone a suitcase- he is a 125 pd. rottweiller- how would I transport him around, on a surrey bike- ha!!!:lmao: :lmao:

There is a difference between reporting and tattletelling.

Reporting is something you do if what the person is doing will cause harm or injury to themselves or someone else.

Tattletelling is when you go and tell on someone when they do something wrong but it doesn't pertain to you in anyway and doesn't fit into the reporting definition.

I choose not to spend my vacation being a tattletell. This particular story would have gotten a giggle out of me and I would get some laughs telling people about it back home (or on the DIS).

How do you people enjoy yourselves while at disney when you seem to be worried about what everyone else is doing?

Considering that some have very severe allergies to dogs, I would think that would warrant a reporting. Then it is up to Disney to do something or not.

hey Bradford person- my neighbor to the slight south of me. My mom shops in Bradford all the time because there is no tax on clothing- she lives in Ellicottville.

My FIL used to work in Elicottville until recently (very beautiful town). Your mom must be a better shopper than I am. We have so few clothing stores in Bradford that I usually can't find anything I like. Most of the time I end up heading to Olean (where there IS tax on clothing) to buy my clothes.

You may have thought this was a humorous thread, but I see it as another person trying to get by doing something that is not allowed. I agree with DizneyNutz. Someone should have spoken up about this.
And exactly what would reporting two people with a baby carriage do? How would the CMs know who exactly which couple had the dog and which had the baby? Was the OP supposed to follow the dog people so she knew their room number? Or maybe raise a big stink while they were in the lobby and point fingers?

I would have laughed if I saw a dog in a baby carriage. Hilarious! I guess people can be hurt by a dog staying in the room before they do but I would not have followed them to turn them in.

Once, during a hurricane, we evacuated and snuck our schnauzer into a motel in an overnight bag. My husband carried her in and the bag was wiggling and jiggling but she did not bark. We felt like spys on a covert operation. Yes it was wrong, but we had no choice except to leave her in sweltering heat with no water, no air and no one to care for her. Obviously not the same thing as taking barky von schnauzer to pop century. :lmao:

now MY dog really wants to go too!
How do you say no when someone else can do it??

He's about 150lbs. of Great Dane.
I bought a Pluto costume tonite and I am going to teach him to walk upright. He'll fit right in!!

:rotfl: my grandparents had a great dane and when front paws were on my shoulders that dog was about 6 ft tall, si I see no reason you couldn't give this a try, if Scooby Doo can do it, so can yours:rotfl:

I agree. I have pet allergies, and I would not want to think about checking into a room that hadn't been cleaned properly because the pet was smuggled in. At least when it's a service animal, it's presence is known to the hotel and they can take extra care cleaning after it leaves. There are thousands of ultra plush doggie resorts that people can leave their pets in if they can't travel along (and I believe that the Universal hotels accept pets, so that is also another option). Please don't take your pet unless it's a pet friendly resort.

Still, whether reported or not, it does make for a humorous story. I can just picture all the people peering into the baby carriage (as people will do) and getting the surprise of their life. I also have to feel sorry for the dog though. I would think, knowing beagles can be a little jumpy anyway, that the sounds and smells of a theme park would be more than it could handle.

The Beagle may have been a trained seizure service animal. I acutally have one, who is now retired since my transplant. Yes, they are now starting to use beagles for diabetics who suffer from hypoglycemic unawareness. I was permitted to take Jamie anywhere with me.. Yes, she did get to come to the University of Maryland Medical Center and spend time with me right in my bed! :goodvibes

Many of us ourselves get tired walking through WDw, I am sure the Beagle did as well, a stroller would have been a nice break for the beagle baby!

It's a bit funny, but rules are there for a reason. Some people have severe allergies to dogs and what if they check into that room and get really sick on thier vacation :sad2: . So I think it's really rude to sneak a dog into Disney. None of us want to leave our cute little dogs home! Mine just happened to get so ill she amost died last month while we were on vacation at Disney. I left her at grandma's house for the week and she must have missed her house and family alot. Next time I will hire a pet sitter. Another thing is the Universal hotels have pet friendly rooms.

Just got home from a week at Pop Century

Yesterday, on the bus from MGM, there was this couple and another woman pushing a baby carriage (completely covered with a large flannel blanket) to the bus stop for Pop Century.

Bus arrived, they got on (thru the back door - didn't fold up the carriage)

I thought, that baby must be suffocating under that blanket!!!

Until the "baby" barked!!!!

It was a BEAGLE!! (could see it's little snout poking out the side of the blanket!!)

The man just rocked the carriage and shushed the "baby"

Got to the Pop Century, watched them get out and wheel "baby beagle" to their room....

Since when are dogs allowed??!!!

:lmao: :rotfl2:

OMG.....that is hysterical....amazing what people will do.

As someone who cannot travel independently without my service dog, I'd have reported this in a heartbeat. People breaking the law and representing a pet as a SD to receive public access for their pet are committing a felony. It would be up to Disney to ask the allowed questions to the couple with the stroller dog, which are " are you disabled"? and "what tasks does your dog do to help mitigate your disability"? If the dog truly was a SD and the person was truly disabled, then they had a right to bring their dog into the resort and parks. If not, out you go. ---Kathy ( and Skye)

Service dogs would not need to be 'smuggled' into a park or onto a bus. Sorry, but it's against Disney rules. What happens if someone with a severe allergy should be in the room right after those people check out? Or if someone sitting close to them on a bus had that allergy? Not trying to be the 'police' here, but man, what would you all say if you saw someone stealing something from the Emporium? Just say it's not your responsibility and say you aren't the 'police'? I'm at WDW to have a good time also, but some things are just wrong. When we were at WDW during Hurricane Charley, it was amazing to see how many people from the Tampa area headed east to get out of the path of the storm and then got rooms at WDW, with their animals. I can't imagine what some of those rooms were like when they checked out.

Now, that issue I have is why in heaven's name that bus driver allowed a carriage on the bus, and didn't tell the guests that they had to fold it up. That's a big no-no. I have never seen a bus driver allow an unfolded stroller, carriage on the bus without taking the child (dog??) out and then folding it up.

That's the exact same thing I was thinking. They never let anyone board at the back of the bus unless the guest is on a scooter or in a wheelchair. They don't let people keep their "children" in the stroller. What was the driver thinking? And how did they get the dog on the first bus anyway? Wasn't this a bus coming back from the park?

now MY dog really wants to go too!

My four cats have now informed me that they better be going with us over Thanksgiving. They are very insulted that a mere dog got away with this. If any animal was to be on Disney property illegally, it should have been a cat!! They are over there now making protest posters.

BTW - this was a joke post. Really didn't think I'd need to put that disclaimer on a thread that was so obviously a humorous kind of thing.

I see strollers w/ dogs in it all the time... Everywhere I go there is either a dog peeking out of someones purse or out of a carriage now... I guess they feel bad leaving them home when they are having so much fun!!! :lmao:
