Anybody seen a dog being smuggled into the resort in a baby carriage? We did!!

You are absolutely correct- different strokes for different folks. Personally I have seen alot of people violating disney rules- but am I going to run and tell on them- no!! I don't worry about anyone else except the fun time that my family is having. I leave disney to deal with the rule breakers!!

I agree up to the point where I have to scrape the broken rules off my shoes.

yes, i did notify the front desk at Pop after we got off the bus

the girl just shrugged, acted indifferent and said "no, dogs are not allowed, only for certain medical situations"

(this wasn't one of those service dogs either -just a regular, run-of-the-mill beagle, in a baby stroller, barking - not one of those "doggie strollers" either - a regular baby stroller)

i asked, what about the room they're keeping the dog in? if no one is aware there's even a dog in there to begin with, how would housekeeping know to "clean" it so that perhaps the next guest with possible pet hair allergies doesn't have a reaction?

again, the girl didn't seem to want to confront the doggie people - she just smiled that "disney smile" (aka: the "stepford look") and asked if there was anything more she could do for us....

so - again, yes, i did say something, but like anything else disney does, confrontation isn't high on their list of "to do"....

On one hand, it is pretty funny, but on the other, people who believe they're above the rules really irk me. We have six pets, have to bend over backward to find friends to care for them while we're away- it'd bug me that we have to do all that while others think it's okay to just skirt the rules.

Plus, as others have said, it's not fair to people with allergies. Our younger daughter seems to have developed a sensitivity to dog fur- I'd hate it if her she spent our vacation miserable because someone left doggy hair behind in our hotel room!

I personally would not want to stay in a room after a smuggled in dog had been there. If they are visiting parks all day, the dog will most likely have an accident. GROSS!!!!!:scared:

so, what would have happened had the dog in his baby stroller gotten spooked or the stroller gotten bumped and he escaped? then would it have been an issue for those of you who say that tattle telling isn't your purview?

what if the dog couldn't be caught? what if it was leashed and choked because the leash got caught in the spokes?

As a pet owner myself, I find it incredibly irresponsible of that couple who chose to not only disregard Disney's stated regulations but to put their own selfish desires over their fellow guests.

At least you made an effort to notify someone. If you are ever checked into a room containing pet stains, fleas and dander, then you would have every right to complain. Some people understand rules are made for a reason and others believe they are only there for other people to follow. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

When we were at DW in September I saw a woman carrying around a small dog that was wearing one of those "service dog' thingies. I have heard of dogs for the hearing impaired and such and wonder if that was what was going on or a scam? :confused3 She was not hiding the dog at all.

Just wondering. I like to exercise my brain once in awhile so it does not get stuck in neutral.

BTW, Lustergirl is good folks. I have met her and she was quite friendly and nice. If you could see her smile you would think so too. :)

Slightly Goofy

I have never thought about it before, but I can't place not even one cat character at WDW?

What about the cat from Pinocchio, Foulfellow's buddy? Gideon or do I mean Foulfellow? One is a fox and one is a cat. We all know about Figaro (but not a character) and Si and Am (also not characters).

Simba is a rather BIG cat, though. Along with the rest of his family.

And I echo thanks to suzimar57. :worship: If no one says anything, how are problems going to get fixed?

That's the exact same thing I was thinking. They never let anyone board at the back of the bus unless the guest is on a scooter or in a wheelchair. They don't let people keep their "children" in the stroller. What was the driver thinking? And how did they get the dog on the first bus anyway? Wasn't this a bus coming back from the park?

I was thinking the same thing too! My child is in a wheelchair AND has respiratory issues. I would have made a fuss to the bus driver right away! I don't think this is funny at all. Why do some people think they are above the rules?

I did giggle when you said he rocked the carriage. The only reason i giggled is because a picture came to mind. But i don't find it funny. If someone is severly allergic to dogs and they stay there after, they are bound to get sick. Not that house cleaning doesn't clean good but, some places can be missed i suppose. I've heard of stories when they forgot spots or didn't exactly clean good. What's also very bad is that you don't know if this dog had fleas, ticks or anything disease. You can't just assume he didn't. I would be disgusted to find fleas, or even feces on carpet. GROSS!! Can you imagine taking that home with you and then they spread onto your carpet and you have to fumigate your house. Some things are overlooked.

On second thought my cat really wants to go now. He just gave me a speech and i nodded... he gave me this look...

This is him preparing for the speech

This is him after telling him i won't be able to do that...

He said he's ready to go. He already got in the box and put on his ears. In an odd way...

He would be bound to eat all the mickey ears, look at his fatself

(I'll stop there i'm getting carried away with his pics!! :lmao:)

Now i'm taking second thoughts? :confused3

(ONLY KIDDING!)

I'll bring my kitty too, they can play with each other. We can put them on Dumbo in the same car and watch them go 'round and 'round. Mine's a 20 pounder, I hope they won't be too heavy to make Dumbo go up.

This week, my son and I went trick or treating at the mall. I saw two separate people who weren't with each other have their small dogs in what looked like snugglis. I was wondering if they were really dog carriers or they were just using baby carriers. It was a slightly odd thing to see. I figured they should have gotten those poor doggies little strollers at least.

And, no I didn't tell anyone at the mall. It's not my job to report other people unless they're robbing or murdering someone.

Oh that would be hilarious!! My cat's a 16 pounder. I'm picturing it now!! :rotfl:

I'm with you. I'm there to have fun. We all see things in every day life that we could probably report. I can't live my life that way unless someone is in danger.
They should not have had a dog.. we all know that... but.. come on it is a funny story I think. I don't know what I would have done if i had seen that
It depends on the rule. While, yes, this is an amusing story, I'll need to request a special cleaning before I can stay in my Pop Century room. No, not because THIS dog's fur will (or should) still be in the room - but because if it happened once, how do I know it won't happen again, just before I visit?

There are thousands of ultra plush doggie resorts that people can leave their pets in if they can't travel along (and I believe that the Universal hotels accept pets, so that is also another option).
Not to mention, the Disney kennels WILL keep pets overnight for onsite Guests.

The Beagle may have been a trained seizure service animal.
Then it would not have had to be smuggled in and out of the hotel. Service animals ARE allowed - and since Disney knows they're there, the resort can automatically do a special cleaning before the next Guest.

Unbelievable. Thanks for trying anyway, suzimar!

I would be loathe to 'rat' anyone out too unless there were no other choice. I should think that there would be enough CM's who would notice such infractions and they are paid to take care of them. Housekeeping would surely notice. JMO.

On the other hand, folks would not be so quick to break rules if they were fairly certain that they would have to face the consequences.

Heck, I cannot even agree with myself. :confused3

Slightly Goofy (who is scared to death of animals)

I was mainly referring to a character you see while touring the parks. (Photo Ops)

Simba does fit into this category, however I have never seen him out in the parks. We do however enjoy the FOTLK show.

I've seen Foulfellow and Gideon in a few places - maybe Germany in Epcot, of course in MK Fantasyland.

Was the said beagle smoking in a non-smoking area carrying his 4 year old refillable mug while his 4 paws had heelie's on and using flash photography in a dark ride before he got in this so-called baby carriage????

dang rule breakers!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

just another funny post!
