Anybody Looked At Mousesavers This Morning

Oh no! :earseek: So what happens if you check in on the 8th, as we will be? Will we get any sort of discount for the 10, 11 and 12th?

CBear--I was wondering a similar thing-- we are booked Oct 21-27 at CSR-- will there be any chance of getting a discount or not? I currently have AAA package rates + dining. Any other AAA folks have any ideas?

So the 20% AAA discount for a value during value season is a MUCH better deal, no?

So far, I think so, but I'll have to see what the discounts on the mods are. I have AAA savings right now of $180 total for 6 nights at POR. If this deal doesn't offer more, I'll stick with what I have.

Depends how you look at it..... :teeth:

The 11.9% discount is off the total package deal which includes room AND tickets.

Hypothetically, if you figured the total discount dollars ($135) against only the regular room cost (77 X 4 = $308), the percentage for the room discount would be much higher than 20%. (43.8%)

This, of course, does not figure tax into the equation, etc., but gives you a rough idea.

Wouldn't it be great if they gave us 40% off all our rooms????? Now THAT would be a deal. :goodvibes

but if you are already paid in full and some sort of discount or free dining comes out are you out of luck???

We're paid in full for the 21st-29th of Oct.

My math could be wrong, but I think another way of looking at it is this:
It is 20% off the room rate IF you have a packagen- at least for regular season

For Dec 10 to 14, I'm seeing that it would come out to $1134, which as other people have said, is a $135 savings. If you apply it to the room only, you end up paying $66 a night with tax. That is better than the $70 a night someone said they are getting with AAA, but not that much better...

Tell me how are you "seeing" this? Are you able to price this out on a website using the code, now or are you crunching #s at home?
:confused3 Thanks.

I just heard from my AAA agent. She said we probably would not get it for those missing December dates, but wouldn't know for sure until she actually speaks to someone. She tried, and the code is not in the CRO system yet. So, we'll just have to wait and see. But it appears for our situation that the AAA package plus dining is going to be the best bet. I'm not sure it will be available for concierge (everything is booked solid), we got a 15% discount on the room portion, were able to add dining to that. And I got the discount on all nights, not just a few.

Oh I meant I went on the WDW website, priced the same pkg as discussed here (4 nights, 2 adults, 1jr, 1 child for Dec 10 to 14), and it came out to $1134. The pkg they are talking about says the same would be $999 which means you save $135.

You are absolutely right. I missed that piece. Here are my calculations:

Rack:

4 nights at value during value season = $77 x 4 = $308
5 day MYW tix 3 adult 1 child = $205.55(3) + $165.08 = $781.73
Total Rack Package = $1,089.73
Posted Discount = $999

Savings = 90.73 or 8.33%

AAA discount would only save 20% on the room piece:
4 nights at value during value season = $61.60 x 4 = $246.40
5 day MYW tix 3 adult 1 child = $205.55(3) + $165.08 = $781.73
Total AAA Discount = 1,028.13

Savings = $61.60 or 5.65%

BUT since you are not buying your MYW tix as part of the package you can now buy discounted tix at ticketmania:

4 nights at value during value season = $61.60 x 4 = 246.40
5 day MYW tix 3 adult 1 child = $191(3) + $154 = $727
Total Discount = $973.40

Savings = $116.33 or 10.68%

Either way we are splitting hairs. A WDW vacation is gonna cost a fortune no matter what and this is a difference of only a few bucks. Really not worth all the effort...

Yeah, but does that $999 include tax? Usually their advertised prices don't!

If I'm understanding (travel must be completed by 12/25) This discount won't work for me - our dates are Dec. 18-26. And that's okay - I'm really happy that I'm paying value season for my dates.

This is just not working for me. When I use the Disney site for a 6 nite/7day ticket package at a moderate, (2A,1J,1C) I get a quote for $1705.39. The sample package pricing on the Dis home page for Caribbean Beach, same 6/7 is $1799??? :confused3

Perhaps they are not using Value season days as I did on the Disney World site? Definitely could be my math! :blush:

That just doesn't seem like much--not worth all the "pins and needles" we have all been on waiting for this?

I don't have a trip planned and this isn't enough to cause me to decide to plan one. Especially with the current cost of gas.

It would seem that if Disney is trying to entice people like me (I am their marketing family--2A, 1J,1C) to plan a trip we might not otherwise there needs to be more to it.

$135 off just doesn't seem like much incentive?

Am I missing something? It this a GREAT deal and I am just missing it? :confused3

So..... what kind of discount are we talking for my family? We have 1 room with DH and I, and another with 2 adults and 1 junior.

How do I figure that? We are going during value season, so I'm not sure what (if any) discount we'd receive.... :confused3

I think it's a $50 charge from Disney for any changes made in the last 45 days. You're TA may charge a fee as well.

Sometimes I wish these things weren't announced (or hinted to) in advance because I have to wonder if the people @ Disney monitor sites like this and see how many people are waiting for the discounts. I personally feel it gives them an unfair advantage as they may actually hold back on certain discounts/offers based on what info. is passed back and forth between discussion boards.

I'm a bit disappointed with this upcoming offer (with the details as we know them) as I was hoping it would include the free dining offer. We were thinking of planning a surprise trip, but a savings of $135 or so, just isn't worth it for us.

Let's just all cancel our trips. That will show those message board monitors. *shhhh, we aren't really canceling*
