Anybody Looked At Mousesavers This Morning

How does the premium plan work? It says three meals (breakfast lunch and dinner) at table and counter service restuarants. So is there a limit? Could you eat at three ts a day/every day? Mabey that's the new offer...pay for myw plus dining get a free "premium" upgrade....which also includes tickets to cirque de soliel (sp?). HMMMMM.......

We've always gone on the premium plan although under different names throughout the years. You get 3 meals per night of your stay. You can do either CS or TS (better value) and each meal takes 1 credit from your bank - there are no signature restaurants. It also includes unlimited recreation - parasailing, golf, water sprites, tennis, etc - most of the tours, and tickets to Cirque.

I would be very surprised to see a free upgrade to premium from the basic dining since it is over $100/day more than basic dining per adult. For a party of 2 adults that would be like getting $200 a night off my hotel room (reduce WL to less than $100 a night or they would actually have to pay me stay at All Stars) so I doubt that will be the case. Plus I didn't realize they were "that" hard up for guests during the winter. Oh and unfortunately they didn't offer any kind of discount on the premium package during the "free dining" promo. They wouldn't even credit us the $35/person/night which is what they were essentially giving the people who got free dining :( I don't really care though since I didn't expect a discount on the package anyway since we've only gotten a discount on it when they give room discounts.

OK so the reliable source says it's not Free Dining and not 7/4 so my guess is book at value price, get a moderate. Book at moderate price, get a deluxe.

I like this idea, but if they did this, wouldn't the Value resorts be almost empty?

Actually Cbear...thats a Scary thought! Have you ever been to a local entertainment venue on a "free day"? (For example..our local zoo has a free admission day once in a blue moon)....its a mad house!!! Can you imagine the mob that will follow??? I want a good deal..not a "too good to be true so everyone shows up deal" lol....am I asking too much? Oh well...thats what fairy godmothers are for, right?

I was thinking that same thing! I was looking forward to being there when it wasn't too crowded (haven't ever done that) and thought wait a minute, I want a deal, but lets just keep it secret among all of us here on the DIS boards! Think they'd do that for us???

CBear, we are going to be there at POP (pending what the deal may be) about the same time. Our dates are the 4th through the 8th.

I know... with my 'serious' Mouse ears on, I have to say I'm not even sure I want free dining! I've already booked my package and paid for the Dining Plan (but I've got another few weeks before I hit the 45-day window). As nice as it would be to save all that money, the restaurants could get really crazy as people have reported in the past weeks.

On second (third?) thought, I DO want free dining. I could find a lot of lovely things to buy at World Showcase with that extra $100+ a day! :goodvibes

Well, leave a few towel animals behind in your room please! :rotfl: We check in on the 8th. Unless they're going to introduce a "pay for 5 get 7" deal... then I think we would fly down the night before and stay the 7th as well.

OK, I'll take a guess. I think that maybe they will upgrade your Make Your Way Package. Is the Platinum a new package for this season? Maybe it was here before and I just never noticed it, but if you go on the Disneyworld webpage, it lists it as an option for 2006 packages and not 2005. I'm guessing that if you pay for a Basic MYW package, you'll get a free upgrade to MYW plus Dining. Or, if you pay for a Premium MYW package, you'll get the Platinum MYW Package.

Well, that's my guess...lol.

I guess we will just have to sit back and wait.

Mary

First the Platinum plan is not available for 2005 secondly there is no way they would offer an upgrade to this. Way too much of a price difference from a regular myw package

I talked to an agent at Central Reservatinos today and was told by them that their will be no discount and take what was said on Mousesavers with a grain of salt. She said there is barely any availability at Disney World for November and December.

They were told that an email will be going out in a few days advertising Disney World packages but it won't be a special discoutned rate.

Just thought I would post what I heard.

Well then this confirms it..obviously there IS something coming. Besides, quite honestly, alot of the cast members are aware of the discounts AFTER we are. How many times have you called to book a code and they hadnt heard of it, only to hear *well gee, there IS a code!* Unfortunately, CMs tend to be the last to know LOL

The Sunday travel section (in StL) just has the 4 for $1500.00 deal in the ad. The only difference is the add says "It's a great Disney Fall. No codes listed that I can see.

When I was at Mousefest last year, I met a woman who works for Small World Vacations. I think that's the one with Mousesavers. She said they usually get info on discounts about 1 week before they are allowed to release it.

It would be great to get a better deal, but happy with my BR price. I'm going no matter what. :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

So good luck everyone. :wave2:

I'm just hoping it's free dining. But, I'm not holding my breath.

I just got off the phone with WDW and was told emphatically, no there will be no free dining, but perhaps a good discount on it. I could tell he knew exactly what it was going to be, but couldn't tell me.

I'm holding my breath for a new government/military code.

What about add the dining plan for roughly half price? That may make some of the numbers work out...

Lets see :

4 nights at a value in value season with tax: $77 x 4 plus tax = $348.04
5 day base ticket with tax = $205.55 (for 2 adults = $411.10)
Dining for 4 nights = $35 x 4 = $140 (1 adult), 2 adults $280

So basing everything on double occupancy:

$348.04 + $411.10 + $280 = $1039.14 full price rate

If dining was half price, total would be $899.14....

If the poster above with the $440 per adult was correct....$440 x 2 = $880 ~ $899.14 .......so maybe the discount isn't quite 50%....

What do you think??

DisneysBren, welcome to the DIS boards. You might check www.mousesavers.com for discount information. Discounts are not plentiful as of now. If you have annual passes(AP's) you could check for the Best Rate Program(BRP). This is good for a maximum of 10 nights.
