Anybody Looked At Mousesavers This Morning

I just got off the phone with WDW and was told emphatically, no there will be no free dining, but perhaps a good discount on it. I could tell he knew exactly what it was going to be, but couldn't tell me.

I'm holding my breath for a new government/military code.

Well, what ever the discount it won't be affecting my decision to go. If it were a government/military code we'd be eligible.

should it be free dinning how would that work ... I'm already booked into WL for December with the Dinning plan ... so would my TA have to cancel my booking and rebook so I could get the free dinning??... However there are no Rooms available, so does that mean I can't get the free dinning plan :confused3

I wish they would offer something. We always go in November during Jersey week and this year they changed it from value to regular season, so my AAA discount is only 10% not the usual 15% plus the additional from value to regular.

I wondered if the change in seasons would make a difference. But the week we'll be there, Nov 9-15, the only rooms left are value, SSR, and wilderness cabins. Why would they offer discounts?

Personal experience: I had my family booked into the WL for 8/26-9/3 this past summer, no dining plan. When I discovered that the free dining was available, I called my AAA TA and asked her to check if I was eligible for the free dining, and if rooms were available under the promotion (remember...not every room at every resort was eligible for the free dining).

She put me on hold, called Disney, and was able to get my existing reservation covered under the free dining plan. The only change was the price of the package, as I now had to forego the AAA discount on the room and pay rack rate. The price of my package ended up increasing by $200, but it was more than made up by the $1500 in food we ended up eating.

Long story short...I did not have to 'rebook'. My reservation number remained the same.

But what is "rack" rate? Just curious as I see this being mentioned often in this thread! Is it the full price on your room in a particular season?

Thanks

Kelly :confused3

Not to gripe, but of course this deal is coming out AFTER the 60 day window for AP Best Rate has come and gone. I already have my NONREFUNDABLE deposits in for my October and December trips. So unless these deals are worth throwing away those deposits, I won't be able to take advantage.

Carol

Me, too. I've got all our AP's already purchased and I mainly did this b/c i didn't think a regular package would come out for our december trip. bummer! :( At least maybe the deal will be good for others who didn't get best rate.

ok. Disney said Best Rate is Best Rate. So if a lower rate comes out, ppl who have BR should be able to get the discount!!! But I guess this would only be for room only rates.

Rack rate is full price with no discount.

I had probelms with the dis last night so I only got to see the title of the thread and have been devouring mousesavers ever since. I just read all 17 pages of this thread and I was excited before, but now the suspense is killing me,too!   There is no way I will get any work done the rest of the night, I will be too busy wishing and checking for an update. Geez, thanks alot! :teeth:

Whatever this is, remember that it says it's a package. So payment in full is due 45 days in advance. Those who book for late October are already past the due date and anything you book will be due immediately.

I am 58 days out so I'll have one payday to save before paying mine off if I book.

Just food for thought.

Just subscribing to find out... Any kind of discount would be fine with me!!! :sunny: :cool1:

Well, the Atlanta Sunday paper's travel section has the same old $1500 ad  The waiting continues........ :bored:

This is what makes me think it will be at least a week before (if) we see any new promotion or code. Newspaper ads are very expensive - I don't think they would continue to place these ads if they knew they had a new promotion coming in the next few days. But of course, I could be wrong. I have been before apparently. ;)

I think Monday morning. The last 2 announcements on Mousesavers have had a teaser one business day before the announcement. I think- you codes/rates experts will correct me if I am wrong.

I am so glad I came down here to check before we ran out to QT for a paper. I love the early Sunday edition and we had intentions of going out earlier, but we ended up taking a nap. Thanks. Maggie

Usually the travel section of the Sunday paper is printed in advance, earlier in the week. When we used to have kids deliver the paper, they would sometimes deliver the pre-printed part of the Sunday paper on Wednesday. Now that we have an adult driver, he delivers it on Saturday morning.

I currently have several nights booked at an airline employee rate--room only. If they offer a great package deal, it may be worth it for me to switch. Does anyone know if you can purchase just a one-day park hopper with a package and then use the hopper to convert to an annual pass? And, if you can, do you have to convert (or use that hopper pass) on the same trip as the package?
