I was just wondering if anybody got a WLV 1 bedroom with the 40% code or if it was even offered, I keep trying and I can get a studio but no 1 bedrooms

Thanks Dave Goofydad Dionne

suites and villas usually arent part of % off promotions, except for occasionally the studios. The suites and villas command too high of a price to offer heavy discounts.

Thats what I was wondering but the CM said they were part of the promotion not that means anything.

Thanks Dave

And, depending on when you're going, the 1 bedrooms may already be booked by DVC members.

Only a small number of rooms in DVC resorts are available for cash booking by non-members. DVC retains ownership of a small number of villas at each resort so they have a little breathing room if maintenance is needed, and those rooms are available to CRO. Also, villas become available to CRO if members 'trade out' to other resorts.....but, DVCers don't trade out all that much, compared to other timeshares.

Bottom line...if you're trying to book a DVC villa through CRO, availability will be very limited, and I don't think you'll see major discounts.

I went to DisBoards section of DVC point rentals, placed a thread, and got someone to rent me their DVC points at $10/point. We saved over a thousand dollars on the room (1BR villa) compared to booking it outright (which are very tough to come by). Then we added in the DDP, park tickets, etc...
There's more coordinating/time involved in doing it this way, but it was well worth it. Just another idea, savvy?

VWL is the smallest DVC. The rooms go quickly there. Depends when you are going, too.

Thanks all

We will most likely stay at OKW 1 bedroom I can get that with the discount and since we will have a rental car three won't be a problem. I just thought we would try for one of the resort villa's if we could. We have decided that we need to take care of a couple of bills then buy into AKLV when we are there in Sept/Oct

Thanks again Dave

I did have a WLV studio booked for Dec. w/ my 40% card, and then I changed the dates to August and there was a regular lodge room available(which is really what I wanted in the first place)-so I took that and cancelled the studio room.

What is a 40% card?

I got a postcard from Disney to book a vacation between certain dates throughout the year with the room at 40% off. Awesome deal. I was just lucky to get it, I guess.

I was able to get a 2 bedroom at SSR with the 40% code for our trip in August.

I am no math major, could you tell me what that translates into as far as daily room rate? Thanks :thumbsup2

I was able to book a 2br at BWV for 9 nights in Dec with the 40% code. I think SSR and OKW were both availble, too.

Here's my example: SSR from 10/26 thru 11/2. 1BR villa.
I needed 194 points in total (there's a calculator on the DVC part of DisBoards to tell you how many points you'd need - by resort, dates and room type requested).
I was able to find a DVC member willing to rent their points to me at $10 per point. That came to $1940 for the accommodations (that I paid through paypal to the DVC member). The $1940 divided by our 7 nights came to $277/night.
If we booked that same room (room only) directly through disney travel, it would have been $3307 which translates to $472/night. We saved $1367 on accommodations!!
Then you can add on the DDP if you want (we did, paid for it at check-in), and we purchased our park tickets prior to arriving and saved a few dollars there.
I secretly want to be a Disney travel agent -- so this (although it took some work to coordinate it) was fun for me!

I thank you much for doing the leg work. Have a great time.:thumbsup2
