Considering a few days there this summer. If you've gone, how was it? Were there a lot of activities? What about meals and the condos? I may also consider going in the winter, so if that is when you went how was it?

We have been there, but I was very disappointed. Maybe we're spoiled by Disney, but it just wasn't as nice as I expected it to be, especially given the amount of money we spent. The condo was pretty run down, it needed a lot of updating. I can't recall much about the activities, it was quite a few years ago.

I've visited Smugglers or Smuggs about 15-20 times in the past 12 years. Just like WDW, the accommodations vary. Some condos are older and some are very new. Just like WDW, newer, more upscale accommodations are available, just more expensive. There are more activities than you can imagine. I haven't done half of them. There are things for every age, adults, families and kids. There are two main restaurants on site plus a pizzeria plus a deli. One of the restaurants is family oriented and one is a little more upscale. There are several offsite restaurants in the area.

Winter is mainly focused on downhill skiing, but there are an abundance of other activities too - skating, dogsledding, snowmobiling, X-country skiing. The lifts are quite frankly, ancient. It's a great place for kids or adults to learn to ski. Their ski school is unbeatable. But, it is the east, not the west, and it gets icy on the mountains. The vertical drop is in the 2300 ft range.

Don't go expecting Disney. Only Disney does Disney. Smuggs is a well run family resort in the mountains of VT. It is oriented to outdoor activities and nature. There are fireworks on the 4th of July and New Year's, not every night.

If you have any other questions, just ask.

We got married in Stowe, VT and have been there several times. One place not to miss is The Dutch Pancake Cafe...OUT OF THIS WORLD! That alone is worth the trip for us! lol We went last year during one of the coldest periods...one morning it was minus 23!
