Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has ever flown standby to Orlando, and how did it go? Were there any problems and how was the price? I always read in travel books that flying standby is always cheaper, so I really just want to know if that's true?
I saw quite a few people doing it on a flight from recent trip to Las Vegas, and they always seemed to get onto the flight.
Anyways, just wondering how it went?

I wouldn't fly standby with kids BUT dh and I decided that if they asked for someone to give up their seat he would; then meet us at our destination.

I flew stanby to Edinborough, Scotland. I had a companion pass with Air Canada. We did not make the flight we got put on the next available, which was 2 hours later to London, England. So it ended up costing us the full amount of the ticket by the time we paid for a ticket to get to Edinborugh!
I do know there is a lot of people that do it and manage to get on their flights.
May be worth a shot!

Flying true standby is really a thing of the past (i.e. where you show up at the airport and hope to get a last minute seat for a discounted price). Typically, you'll get soaked for last minute tickets at the airport now.

The only exceptions are charters that aren't sold out; if you're willing to take your chances a week or two in advance but that isn't standby either.
