Any Wii's out there??????

The key to getting any of these systems is to go to the stores that are getting a decent amount by about 3:30 am or so.

DS wanted one for his birthday and since he was willing to wait (his birthday was the 4th and the Wii came out the 19th) I made sure to be on line early to get one.

I don't know that I would have gone there the night before but there is no way that I would show up to a store at 6:00 or 7:00 am and expect to get something so highly sought after.

Dh said people got thier tickets lastnight at 11. From what he said they had signs that said to wait outside, and employees told them to wait in the garden section. He got number 8 then walked around from 3:30 to 7:30. He has walmart memorized. I guess somepeople that came after him waited outside and a few asked and went to the garden center. When he checked out at 8:00 they were still trying to figure out how to pass out the last 15 out of 30 tickets. They had escorts walking them out and did'nt even bother putting them in bags :confused3 I hate lying but I told the kids he did'nt get one. Well, technically they asked at 7:58 so I guess thats not a lie. THe grandparents are coming this weekend so atleast they get to open it early.

OH MY GOD! GET READY FOR THE BIGGEST MOTHERS DAY PRESENT EVER! YOUR SO COOL! TELLING THEM NO, THEN ALREADY GOT ONE, AWW MAN U ROCK!

Thanks. I have tried searching Canadian stores but have not found it in stock anyway. Not sure how to figure the price as marked in ca dollars into us dollars. If you find anything, let me know.

This has become more of a time waster than that dreaded Oceangram website that swept through the Dis boards for a couple of days this fall.

This is so true

DH went to Walmart this morning around 2:30 and was 10th in line (the store had 14 units). He said that person number 14 showed up right at 4:00 and got the last voucher. We were lucky our Walmart is 24hr and lined up chairs where the layaway dept used to be, so everyone stayed nice a warm and no mad dashes for the electronics dept at 8:00am because it is right there next to where they were hanging out. All of the other Walmarts said they were not letting people line up at all, sounded a little too dangerous for us.

We are so excited for our DS9 on Christmas morning. We have never bought anything this expensive for our kids but he has been talking and talking about it, but has never come out and asked for it, because he knows that is $250 and are hard to find.

For those of you that weren't so lucky this morning we made several call yesterday and here is what we found out.
Game Stop AKA Ebgames is getting in shipments all the time. They just got one yesterday but had sold out (big surprise) but said they are expecting another one later this week. I would call every evening to see if they have any for the next morning. Or better yet go into the store and make friendly with the crew, maybe take them a Starbucks and see if you can get some inside information, a little brown nosing can't hurt.
Target is expecting another shipment next weekend. We called several stores and they all said the same thing. The first shipment that target got was huge, most of the stores in the Denver area had around 60 units so that might be the best hope. Keep checking Curcuit City, we got different stories from each store, but they have been getting them in. I would forget about CompUsa, they say they are not getting any in until after the new year. DH says that if CompUsa keeps doing business the way they are he expects them to go under in the next two years.

Good luck to everyone and congrats to those of you early risers!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

The one Walmart handed out their last ticket at like 6:40ish this morning...no one camped out...I am sure some people got there WAY early...had I gotten in there at 6:30 like I had planned I would have gotten one. Guess we don't REALLY need one.

2:00 am wouldn't have made any difference for me. I just would have waited 4:40 before going home instead of 0:40. The 4 that got the tickets had been there since dinner time the night before. DH put his foot down to me spending the night in a line at WM. The 4 that got them were 1- a burly looking man buying for a kid, 2 + 3 college kids, and 4 a pair of 20 something brothers going in together. The other people who came but didn't spend the night were moms. There is only so much I can do. A wrapped paper won't be the end of the world. Once Nintendo starts losing its place on the front page when the hype runs its course, they will release enough for eveyone. Their stock is probably sitting pretty high at this point with an artifically created panic set in place by a limited release one month before Christmas.

I'll keep trying, but I can't drive an hour in the middle of the night to sleep outside a store that may or may not have one, in a situation that may or may not be safe.

UUUGGGGHHHH!!! I emailed a fmaily member to help in the search and just got a reply "Wish I had known, I saw one last week!" I think I'm about to cry.

well, i couldn't make it to Walmart until 9am. of course they were all gone.

Nothing at bestbuy either. I'll keep looking though. 19 days left.

*sigh*

I didn't make it to Walmart this morning either - still looking myself.

I think I'm giving up on the idea of a Wii for Christmas. I have to buy it at Toys R Us b/c I have $200 in gift cards and I'm just not willing to sit out in the cold. My DS would love it but is not asking for it so if I pick one up in Feb. or March, he'll be just as happy. And the Christmas presents will have worn off by then anyway.

Good luck to those still looking. :thumbsup2

For everyone who wants to get their kids the Wii but won't be able, what about getting a $250 gift card with a note saying "When the Wii is in stock, this gc is for that." That way they "sorta" get it for Xmas.

no luck here, either. I didn't even bother going to Wal-Mart (I seriously considered giving up my anti-WalMart shopping stance, LOL) after I learned that a line was already forming yesterday afternoon for this morning's sale and that our store didn't get very many.

I've checked WalMart.com all day and have come up empty. I missed the Circuit City bundle, but am reading reports that some of those orders have been cancelled.

I popped in Best Buy and Game Stop at store opening, only to be told by some lady that I've brought this on myself... that my kids don't "need" this game, and she simply didn't get the fuss :sad2: No, my kids don't NEED this game. that is true.... but they have been asking for it since late April or early May, and it is all they have asked for this year (like many other kids, LOL).

If it was a level playing field and I couldn't get one, then I could accept that... but there are THOUSANDS of units on Ebay, the resellers are out in full force. Then there are the people camping out all night long, stores in larger areas are getting more in one shipment than have been available in my entire town (at least it seems that way) and I can't get a straight answer from anyone as to when a shipment may or may not arrive. It's getting more and more frustrating for me by the hour. :furious:

Mostly, I'm mad at myself for not taking things more seriously the week after Thanksgiving when the Walmart.com unit was available, and not getting up early enough on Sunday to get one at my Target.

Wii success at Walmart this morning! :cool1:

Our Wal-Mart had 31. DH got in line at 3:15 am. He was the first person to settle by the door (with folding chair and sleeping bag) although others arrived before him and were waiting in their cars. Person #31 got in line at 5:30am.

When Wal-Mart opened at 7:00 he received a "Wii ticket" and was directed back to layaway where the sales would occur. I took his place in line at about 7:20 so he could go to work. Everything was peaceful, friendly, and orderly. I'd say two-thirds of the people in line were moms and dads; the rest were young adults.

At 8:00 sharp the registers were ringing and I was out of there by 8:10. Hurray! What a relief. Yippee! :cheer2:

I'm so happy for you! Now you will have a REAL gift to give and not have to give an empty box! Thanks for the idea...my DH thought that would make my son disappointed that there wasn't anything really inside. I appreciate your enthusiasm! Our Walmart ended up getting 31....way more than they said they would. It wouldn't have mattered, with work it is impossible to get to Walmart to wait on line during the weekday... we will keep trying!!!! :thumbsup2

I think most Targets, Toys R Us, Circuit city, and Best Buys will have some on Sunday, Good Luck!!

:thumbsup2 Here's hoping the whole ebay market implodes on itself by about the 20th and we can snatch up one really quickly for a reasonable price.

Let the Implosion begin! :cheer2:

Here, here!!!!

If people would stop buying these new consoles on Ebay then those that re-sell wouldn't anymore leaving the stock for us parents who have to have it without paying a fortune for it.

The Elmo resell market has really diminished, so here's hoping.
