Any Wii's out there??????

Keep trying guys!

I went to the mall to get my hair done at an early appt. (9 a.m.), when I finished, I wandered over to a store called Gamestop to look for a couple of games my daughter wanted. I saw the guy at the check out hand out a card to someone saying that he wasn't sure if any would be in the shipment, but that card was numbered if any did come in. I almost didn't even bother, but I asked how many he had given out and he said 5 cards. I said what the heck. He said they would only be good for today if any came in. I was number six, and was told to check back around 1 pm. I called and told them I was number six and was checking to see if the had looked at their shipment, and he said they had gotten 6 in.

I had pretty much given up the thought of getting one because I refuse to stand in lines or go to Ebay. I would say get to your malls a little before they open the next time it is suspected shipments are coming in. I was reading this thread this morning and saw everyone saying they were coming to Walmart today, and that is the little bird in the back of my head that told me to get a card to try my luck.

Thanks guys!

I ACTUALLY GOT ONE TODAY!!

I was insane enough to head out to our local Super-Walmart at 9:30 pm. The place was a ghost town. An employee told me they would be out at 8 am and to wait in the lay-away department. I had books and everything with me prepared to wait all night. I was sitting in on the employees meeting (pep rally) and feeling like I crashed a party. After the meeting a manager came up to me and asked if she could help me. I explain I was one of those insane people waiting for a Wii. She says on the last shipment an employee made a huge mistake and offered about 10 guests rainchecks, which of course they were NOT supposed to do. They said they were going to honor them at 8 am. But she said she would go back and call all those raincheck people and count exactly how many came in and get back to me. She returns about 20 minutes later and says one person decided against the rain check and I could have the last one. She writes me down also for a rain check and tells me to come back at 8. Great I don't have to stay the night!!! I return at around 7:45 and again NO ONE is around. I ask again and they told me again to wait in layaway. Another manager comes and talks to me, I again explain and she goes to the back. Finally a teen-ager and a little brother come and ask if I'm waiting for a Wii, I say yes I was the first one there. The manager comes out with my Wii and asked the kid what his name was so she could also get his. She comes back with two and leads us to electronics to pay. I never did see anywhere near a "mob" of people. I quickly left for fear they would change their minds about the rain check. My DS-15 is a great kid and a joy for a son and is very deserving. I'm happy for him already!! My kids were talking about the Wii a few weeks ago and my jokster DD13 says .......yeah when they get the updated second version they can call it the Wii Wii!! This is a kiddy version name we gave for a "you know what" :teeth: :sunny: :p !!!!

I went to Wal-Mart this morning at 7:00 a.m. fully expecting not to get one. I was #8 in line and they had 12. The first person got there at 3:00 am. By 7;30, they had 12 in line and turned everyone else away. We were given numbers at 8 and was told to go to the customer service area to checkk out and they would have the Wii's there. I did that and got to work by 8:15 a.m. I still can't believe it worked out!!! :cool1: :cool1:

This is great.

Hopefully this means the supply is finally catching up with the demand.

That's so cool you guys are finally getting some! I just got slammed at work, and will be working late nights until Christmas, so my chances of getting one just dropped greatly, as I won't be able to go to the stores often enough. But congrats to you guys!!!

Still nothing here. But I'll keep hunting!

I went to TRU last night and saw the Wii boxes out on the floor. I thought I was very lucky and asked if they were in stock. The cashier told me they come in on weekends only and then people line up the night before. They have to display the boxes she said. So I don't think we'll be getting one from Santa.

The power of positive thinking.. :cloud9: I bought Madden and Zelda for the kids just knowing I WILL find the console eventually. I WILL. :cloud9:

Still looking for nanchucks! Any available online?

I got an email from Circuit City that they were back in stock, but it is only for instore purchase and not available online. I think it is only for certain store locations.

You might try ordering from Nintendo..... Couple of weeks ago I ordered controller and wimote from there and they said they'd begin shipping the week of Dec. 18. In the meantime I found them locally so went back to cancel my order w/ Nintendo and the nunchuck had just shipped on Monday (but not the wimote) - well ahead of schedule.
Have seen nunchucks 2 times in the last 5 days at our local Target (yes I"m in there WAY too much these days ;) ) and EBGames said they'd start getting them this week, so I think they're becoming easier to get you just have to be persistent.

My children are too young for the Wii but a friend of mine works in NYC and went to purchase one for her children at the Times Square store they had 1,000. So if you live in the area you might want to give them a call

My daughter's boyfriend's mother had pretty much the same thing happen to her. She had been searching everywhere for one for his little brother. I'd looked on the internet, but no luck.

She got to Wal-Mart at 7:30 a.m. and got the last one. She was thrilled and didn't even have to wait long. I guess that was one of the benefits of going to one in a small town (not as much traffic maybe).

Ok, I'm joining the hunt. I got a christmas bonus that I haven't told DH about and I want to use some of that money to buy the Wii for us. Now it's the mad search of trying to find one! If I could put it under the tree at Christmas, that would be PERFECT! His face would be priceless. :)

Besides, he said if I ever got him the Wii he would consider DVC!! ;) Gotta love it!

Another new day - ANOTHER DAY I CAN'T FIND THE WII!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Yesterday I had the circuit city page up all day refreshing it hoping and praying that it would be in stock - NOPE!!! I'm going to do the same thing today.

Wow, if all you have to do to get him to buy into DVC is to buy a simple little Wii, you've got it made. Not a bad trade off when you consider the total cost for each. Us guys are easy, ain't we?

Well I can't seem to find a Wii to save my life, but I did get a PS3 today LOL. Not what I want, but it might pay for my Wii if I ever get one.

I can't either. :sad2:

I figured the PS3' would be much harder to find than the Wii's. DS(10) who has a PS2 and at least a hundred games for it has NO INTEREST whatsoever in the PS3 - he says they took away the vibration on the controllers and he's mad at Sony, LOL!!!

I totally stumbled on it. They had only just gotten them in, and they had only 4. I was looking at the Wii stuff and the mgr asked me if I needed help. Told him I'd love a Wii if I could ever find one. He says "ok, well if you were looking for a PS3 I did just get 3 of those". He brought it up to a closed register in a black bag, so no one else could see it. He said it was for his safety and mine LOL.
