Any traditions for your last night?

For our Summer trip we usually end with a farewell breakfast with Chef Mickey, then we spend the day at our resort swimming and shopping...just hanging out. Then we have a nice dinner, followed by an Illuminations Cruise.

For our Christmas trip, we usually sleep in really late, and then have our farewell breakfast with Chef Mickey, followed by a little shopping, and then over to Magic Kingdom for dinner at LTT and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
We stay until closing, and then leave really early in the morning, before the sadness has time to set in!

Oh, and on my last day shopping I always buy a notebook or notepad, stickers, pen, calender, etc... so that I can start planning our next trip on the drive home.

Ok its 6:30 am and Im reading this thread crying into my coffee cup ! It is just tooo sad to think about the last day and having to leave the world. But here is my last day tradition. Its always MK. Cant leave without seeing the Castle just one more time !! We have our last meal at Crystal palace and just stroll aimlessly around taking in the sites, admiring the buildings and of course pretending that the exit gate is stuck and I cant leave. Then... I cry. But !!! On the plane home I start planniing our next trip and I feel better ! :)

On our last morning there, we had breakfast at Chef Mickeys....we were just there 2 weeks ago. I was in tears as we were walking out of the Contemporary to go back to the WL to check out. I loved having that fun breakfast on the last morning instead of just getting up and leaving!

There are four of us. We each pick our most favorite thing to do and then DO IT!!
It usually involves jumping from park to park, but everyone leaves WDW having just done there favorite thing. We also shop along the way,

Sitting dumbfounded somewhere on the resort grounds wondering how something that took so long to get here passed so quickly.

ditto!!!

Actually, on our last trip, we spent our last night as an e-night. One last intense trip around the MK. Take one last glance at Cindy's & think about how long it will be before we get back...

:(

aw..i got teary-eyed just reading these posts..well on our last night we usually go to Mk and watch the fireworks and stay there until the very end..when all the people leave..and music is playing the background and the castle is changing colors and we just sit and reminisce about our trip and we take one last picture of our family in front of the castle..our faces are priceless..after that we go back to our hotel and if we're staying at one of the deluxe hotels we watch the, as i like to call it, "the fancy parade"( i gave name if like that the first time i saw it when i was 5) in the lagoon. :D

We have a park marathon, going to all four parks and trying to hit everyone's favorite (we always go when crowds are low). We end day at MK to see fireworks (and I cry). I rush and pack the next morning so I don't have time to think about leaving and catch car to airport about 12:00 noon. Come home and hop on the DIS!

We take the boat to the CR ride the monorail in the evening, go see Chip & Dale at FW campfire, watch the electric parade, walk one last time through the Trading Post (and indulge my 5 yr old DD one last time) and walk back to our camper. A last day transition day sort of softens the blow of leaving (sort of)

I think we like to spend the last night in the countries.. watching the fireworks, listening to the music... wahhhhhhhhhhhh.. I need a vacation..

On our last night we always ride the resort monorail and get off at each resort and shop. We make a stop in the Contemporary arcade for the kids. They love this. Then we take the last boat back to our FW cabin.

Thanks everyone! I'm really getting some great ideas. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only cryer in the bunch!:)

We have yet to make our first trip, but thanks to a very generous DIS family our last minutes at the World will be on the Illuminations Cruise :) :) :)

Who can say if we can keep that as a tradition, but right before the cruise we're going to Beaches and Cream--and that sounds like something we can count on for our future farewells. Who knows--maybe even the Kitchen Sink :)

We usually end with at trip to DTD to shop and take in the atmosphere there. Another thing we do is talk about which hotel we will stay in next. We're making the rounds to all of them.

"and this little piggy went boo, hoo, hoo...all the way home!"

yep, that's me! :p

We have a dinner at a really nice on-site spot and just enjoy being together and appreciate the fun we've had during out stay. The super-nice meal, the togetherness...that's what makes the final night special for us.
