We will be at WDW 5/31 - 6/6. Does anyone have any tips to beat some of the crowds? Any parks better on certain days? What about temps? What is a "typical" crowd during this week?
Thanks for ANY words of wisdom!!!

Earlier in the morning is the best way to beat the crowds. We found the Early Entry or whatever it is called now for MK was good to get Fantasyland done with little ones.

Take advantage of Fast Pass. It really helps. For instance, get Fast Pass for Splash Mountain, then go do other things that are shorter lines like Pirates, the Railroad, etc. while waiting. If things have not changed from last year, you are not committed to go that exact hour, you must go after that time. For instance, if you have a return for 10am-11am. You can go ANYTIME after 10am which could be noon. (correct me if they changed this since last June)

Take a break in the afternoon if you can at the resort for a swim and rest. It is the hottest time and the pool helps. Speaking of hot, it is HOT HOT HOT! Being from a dry climate, I find the humidity makes it feel hotter for me. We bring Squeeze Breeze or misty fans to help keep cool.

Bring ponchos in your belongings. The weather starts to bring in afternoon rain clouds at that time and sometimes it rains. It seems that whenever I forget the ponchos, it will rain that afternoon! The rain does not normally cause any problems and we just keep going.

We will be there also during this time. This is our third June trip and we enjoy this time. There are still schools in session, so the crowds are not as bad...they are managable. We are doing the USO/IOA/Sea World and WDW water parks that week you are there. We are heading into WDW our second week. Our suitcases are out and begging to be packed!

Have a great trip! Don't forget to wear a lime green ribbon somewhere to identify yourself that your are a DISer; you may meet a new friend there!!!!!!

...during that time of year, mornings can be pleasantly cool. There's nothing like getting up with the sun and heading out for morning coffee and seeing a light mist over the pool at the Grand Floridian. :D . It's my favorite part of the day.

There is "Gayday" the first week of June, which causes big crowds. If you go to the website www.gayday.com you can find the schedule to avoid the larger crowds.
I just checked and Gayday at MK(the biggest crowds) is June 7th..but they have Animal Kingdom scheduled for 6/5 and MGM scheduled for 6/6, so I'd avoid those parks due to large attendance.
We went a couple years ago the first week of June and got the schedule and avoided the scheduled parks and it was fine.

Is it true that fastpass can be used BEYOND the hour window printed on the ticket as AZKathy said??? I've never heard of this before.

We're going the same week also. It'll be myself, DH 31 and DS 2. The loose plan is to do Sea World on Sunday, AK on Tuesday and MK on Wednesday, with a hotel/DTD day inbetween. That Wed, 6/4 is a 9:45 pm fireworks night at Magic Kingdom so that's a priority. We also made a Chef Mickey breakfast reservation on a non-park day.

I used to do parks every day, but I imagine with kids, you have to be pretty flexible and build in rest/slower days inbetween the park days. The weather is bound to be HOT!

Only if said Fast Pass attraction is closed for an extended length of time. We had this happen while we waited for Space Mountain the first year Fast Pass was rolled out. They closed the ride when were were about to be left in the queue, but the CM apologized and told us we could present our Fast Pass at anytime for the rest of our stay in MK (that day).

I double checked this with DH and he verifies that last year we did this numerous times throughout our days at WDW. He remembers one CM questioning our return, though. So, the best thing to do is double check with the CM at the Fast Pass kiosk; we will on our upcoming trip, also, just in case they have changed since last year so we don't miss out a ride.

Gay Pride is held the first Saturday in June every year. And the parks get petty crowded. If you are not celebriting the event, avoid wearing a red shirt. We have been at WDW during Gay Pride week twice by accident. The very first was back in 1997, our first WDW trip. The most recent was last year after returning from a 3 day Wonder trip.

By the way, it will be hot and muggy. Be sure to bring your poncho's (cause it's going to rain cats and dogs on most afternoons).
