Disney has already announced that there will be pre-arrival pricing on the MagicBand+.

MagicBand+ will be available for purchase beginning next year, including a discounted, pre-arrival price for Disney Resort hotel guests as well as new and renewing Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. Current MagicBands will continue to be available, too, along with the complimentary Disney MagicMobile service that extends MagicBand features, such as park entry, to smart devices.

Good thinking, but our trip isn't until July. I just checked again and the link is back. Maybe just some maintenance this morning... Wishful thinking on my part too, lol

Nope, we live in Ohio. Early this morning instead of the "Make your selection link" on my Plans page, there was no link and a message something like "Purchasing pre-arrival MagicBands is unavailable right now. Our team is working on it." I thought maybe they were updating to include MagicBand+, but the link is back to normal now.

FWIW, on the pre-arrival selection page, the API request that fetches the current MagicBand list includes a section for "MagicBandPlus" but that section is empty and has been for a couple months at least.

The current selection is incredibly small both for pre-arrival bands and in the online Disney shop, so hopefully that means they're working on phasing them out. Can't even get a single color band!

Do they sell these in the parks? I assume that might have better selection?

We used our first generation Magic Bands this last trip and no issues.

This same exact observation and question seems to come up every few weeks as their stock ebbs and flows. I wish I had faith it was an indication the new version was coming soon. For now I do not. It's happened to many times with no changes being made. I'd love to be wrong though

I noticed the same thing when we were considering purchasing a new one. We passed and used our old ones.
Hoping the new ones are available before our fall trip.
