Any suggestions for starters/salads etc.?

I've been looking through the suggested menus that DFTW send you, but I must say, not one of the starters or salads sounds any good to me. Having never been to WDW I have no idea of what other options I could have. So go wild, suggest your favourite starters for me to get hungry thinking about!

Since you can have them re-create basically anything....

I like the cheddar cheese soup from Le Cellier! Here's a picture of it at our anniversary party - don't worry, it isn't this blurry in real life!

DH had Rose & Crown's Mixed Greens Salad with Warm Break Croutons, crispy Bacon, Roasted Onion, Irish Cheddar and Warm Bacon Vinaigrette:

People also love the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli at California Grill - maybe you could have them make that! Here's a not-so-appetizing pic:

Also, just to give you more ideas, at our menu tasting, we tried the bacon-wrapped scallops - they were nice - plus Crab Rangoon (wontons stuffed witha crab-cream cheese mixture):

And I think this was some kind of field-greens salad:

Hmm, intriguing...

We're planning on having the fillet beef and lobster tail as our main, and a sorbet course in between, so I didn't want anything that would be too similar if that makes sense, but the bacon wrapped scallops & crab rangoon, might just compliment it just right...

I lurve the loaded baked potato soup from DL, but it's pretty filling, so I don't know if I could have it as a starter, but the cheddar cheese soup got me thinking...

Some appetizer/salad suggestions for you from Disney restaurants. I have to say the fact that we could have anything from the restaurants at our wedding was a big selling factor for DF!

I thought Rose and Crown had the most awesome potato soup, I'm thinking of doing that for our starter but DF wants the sonoma ravioli from Cali Grill. For salad, we will most likely have caesar plated table side. DF loves Caesar salad.

I really liked the salad at Cinderella's Royal Table, it had raspberries and a bread crumb topping that added some crunch, here's a pic.

I loved the flatbread at Cali Grill, I forget which one this is but it was really delicious

or maybe a cheese course? I really liked the one from the Yachtsman:

We thought about having Shrimp Cocktail which they can do in a light up glass...

How awesome do those quesadilas look? I'd have to eat them with a knife and fork, because I just know they'd go all over my new expensive white dress

The prawn cocktails were really high up on my list, but we're already planning the lobster for the main, and I know there's quite a few people who are coming who don't like seafood at all, but they're not stopping me from having my lobster!

We had Mickey Roni and Cheese served in martini glasses at our cocktail hour. It was a HUGE hit!! Of course, I have no pictures of it uploaded but I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

We had crab cakes with remolade sauce and onion tarlets with goat cheese.

We had guests raving about both of them.

We also had a fresh vegetable display served along side the hot appetizers during the cocktail hour.

My husband does not like salad and we really love soup so we served a soup course

For our pre-reception we served several things including a favorite item - raspberry and brie puff pastry. SO fabulous!
