Any Solo's for Expedition Everest Challenge?

I was planning on moving my trip in March to May when I happened to notice that the Expedition Everest challenge (5 km run and scavenger hunt in AK) was on during my tentative dates...I was wondering if any other solo's are going during this time that would be interested in registering as a team with me or even planning on running with others that night? Hubby has no interest in running or coming with me so I figured i'd ask around here for a bit of company...I just thought that the scavenger hunt part might be more fun with friends!

OMG...just looked up the info on this and it looks so fun. I'm a firm maybe for this event if I can get some time off work to go. I am going to run the half marathon at DL in September so this would be a good warm up for it. I have to check my budget too.

Any ideas on prices for rooms? discounts?

That's awesome that your doing the 1/2 marathon! I think I remember seeing on the WWoS website that you can book rooms for the run at the following rates:

All Stars 106.00
Caribbean Beach Resort 138.00
Animal Kingdom Lodge 227.00

From looking at the rack rates the only one that's really an awesome deal is the rates at AKL...im still hoping for a better public discount to come out soon though...

I found a wicked deal on airfare last night too... 161.00 total rt taxes in! That's an amazing deal I have never flown for under 200.00 a person before!...now to convince DH that I can spend the money...
