Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

I am going Sept 15-21. We didn't get a FP+/Magicband invite, but my friend did. She is going the same week and staying at Port Orleans Riverside. I read that Riverside would be testing the new stuff. I am staying at French Quarter and have not heard anything. I guess I chose the wrong side or Port Orleans! :sad2:

:offtopic: Oh well, still very excited! Getting married in 25 days  and Disneymooning in 27!!!

You have to have 3. It's not optional. Just schedule one earlier and be a no show.

This is a major flaw of the system. It forces you to waste FP that you won't be using.

It is sort of a flaw, but I don't think it will cause issues. Disney knows what % of FP+ will be no-shows, and that number is going to be very steady based on certain crowd levels. So they know exactly how many FP+ they can overbook for an attraction.

So in the end, even though it forces you to possibly book FP+ you won't use, Disney has calculated this into the system and as time goes on, they will get even better at knowing how many FP+ they can overbook based on this.

This has probably been answered, but can you do one FP+ at one park and two at another?

At the current time, no. You can only have fp+ at one park/day

Ok...so went to make FP choices for Epcot. I can't fit 3 in to the time period I have but cannot figure out how to cancel just one of them??? This is TEDIOUS! Been working on this for 45 min now

Are you sure you can't fit 3 into the time period you have? How long do you have?

If you mess around with time slots (move two attractions "out of the way" temporarily by putting them either early in the morning or late at night), you can put them one by one into better windows. It would only take about 2 hours to get 3 attractions in...

Ex: Schedule the attractions like this: 6-7pm, 7-8pm, 8-9pm. If you schedule the shortest attraction for the 6-7pm slot, the longest one for the 7-8pm slot, and then the last attraction for 8pm-9pm, you could almost theoretically do all three in a span of about 1.5 hours, by hitting the 1st attraction right near the end of your window and the 3rd attraction right at the beginning.

I just wanted to chime in with my recent experience with Disney IT!

We are doing a split stay, but the first half of our vacation we are off site. We have APs, so I called to see if we could activate our magic band for the first half of our stay, and I was told no. Right now Magic bands are linked with hotel stay, not with ticket media, so even though I will have magic bands, I will not be able to use them for the first half of my vacation.

I'd also be really careful with linking tickets, because there is no way to unlink them. Two days ago I linked the three day MYW hoppers I purchased for my brother to his account. Yesterday he decided that he wanted to change the days of his vacation, and his new dates would allow me to purchase the discounted military tickets for him. Since the military tickets are a significant discount as compared to the MYW tickets, I wanted to unlink the MYW (they haven't been used yet), save them for myself for a future trip, and purchase and link the military tickets to his account.

This is not possible at the moment, If I linked two sets of tickets to his account his MB wouldn't know which ticket to use, which would be a problem. The IT CM told me I could go to the concierge desk where there will be MB experts on hand that could possibly over ride the system and choose the military tickets first, but she wasn't 100% positive.

Either way the MYW tickets would stay on my brothers account, there is no way to completely delete them from MDX.

He could assign them to someone else, but they need to be "friends" on the MDX page.

Just make sure you intend to use the tickets you have linked, or plan to spend some time dealing with the fallout.

I decided it wasn't worth the hassle to save some money, I don't want to waste time waiting around at the concierge desk, so I'm just going to eat the savings.

You have reservations for a non-MB test resort so you make reservations (these are the ghost ones) for a MB test resort, knowing the whole time you are going to cancel the ghost reservations as soon as you make sure you are getting your MB's.

Personally I think Disney should not be held accountable if guests do this, sure let them keep their MB's but don't give them MB privileges and since they would be linked to a canceled reservation I wouldn't expect them to still work anyways!

But don't you receive your MB's upon hotel check-in? And even if they are sent via mail, wouldn't you lose the $200 deposit? Plus, if you cancel, the MB's no longer have park tickets associated with them so how would they work anyway?

I didn't get a invite. Just checked online today , clicked on manage bands. I was able to select colors and choose rides for all 7 days. I'm 26 days out at Beach Club. Sept 14-21.:cool1:

And how exactly do you determine between the guests who booked with the intention of cancelling and the guests that genuinely needed to cancel? All of a sudden cancelling any reservation at a testing resort results in a penalty? :confused3

So I was able to select my magic bands but on they still haven't shipped. I selected them on Friday. Should I be concerned? Has anyone had their's ship yet. I thought people said they were shipping pretty fast.

Ordered mine Thursday (for a (9/13 stay). Still showing they're being processed, but I can't make changes. If I remember correctly, some people received the "item has shipped" email after they were already on their doorstep or an hour before they arrived. I'm not worried...yet :)

I actually thought the same thing about park hopping. I think it might discourage it which doesn't make much sense because they make more money if you buy park hopping tickets. :confused3 I think the best strategy for us anyways was to make RD and EMH like we always do and save FP+ for when we come back in the afternoon after a break.

It has been confirmed by others that you will receive a KTTW card to go along with you MagicBands and that you will be able to gain FP that way too. I know..how scandalous!:scared1:

So you can gain FP using your KTTW card the entire day in addition to your FP+ selections? Do you have to get the regular FP before your first FP+ time or can you get them throughout the day?

You can get them as if the two systems aren't connected at all.

The bands are shipped via UPS - generally no delivery on Sat. and Sun.
I completed my order on Friday also and am expecting delivery today or tomorrow. Please post when your package arrives.

My sept magicband is now on my account, it says active now when I click on it. On Saturday it said shipped. That part is gone today. I never received any emails about it.. Tracking, expected arrival.., nothing. How did others know when they were coming? I'm assuming all is great even without any emails.

I ordered mine Friday too, but mine says customizable until August 26. We don't check in until 9/29, so will ours not ship until after 8/26?

I can't get anything after September 28 either. I did NOT receive an email from Disney telling me I could use this - just stumbled across FP+ selections while on MDE. Online chat Cast Member told me that I'm not part of the testing if I didn't receive an email or have a magicband linked to my account. I'll just cross my fingers and hope that they are late with the email or linking my magicband.
