Anyone hear any rumors of another DVC location being developed? Hawaii is the only new resort being built right now and I'm wondering if something else will be coming after that. Disney purchased land near Washington DC, but not sure what that was for. Would love to see someplace like the Bahamas.

I think every now and then a rumor of DVC at the Poly pops up, but I don't know if there's anything to it. They'd have to convert one of the existing longhouses, since they can't really expand the property there, or so I've heard it said.

Good grief, I hope not. It's gotten too big as it is now. And they haven't sold out the villas they currently have for sale.

LOL...thats too funny. :rotfl2:

I would love to see a caribbean DVC - probably not the Bahamas though. I would prefer Grand Cayman or maybe Turks/Caicos. Hawaii is a great location, but just not that accessible for those of us on the east coast. The caribbean is just a couple hour plane ride away!
I hope no more DVC resorts at WDW - I think that is saturated right now!

Yea, a DVC in the Caribbean would be nice. One with a Kids Club so the DW and I could go scuba diving one day would be awesome! I think one in Jamaica would be nice so you would have a lot of family excursions you could do.

With 3 WDW resorts in active sales (THV, AKV and BLT) plus GCV and soon, Hawaii, I'm sure DVC would not want to have potential owners waiting for some additional resort when they could sell a current resort...

Now I do think a completely different location than planned may help DVC sell more at the "core" locations because many people do not want to be "locked into WDW" (And we know the 500 locations are not all as easy as they say vs DVC internal)

I vote the Caribbean also, but have to say after traveling to many, many islands as a travel agent I would not like to see Jamaica! Been there several times and just never felt safe out on our own. There are some really nice Islands that have so much to offer. Love Aruba, St Maarten, St Johns, Cayman's, Barbado's the list goes on!

Only if they have a rollercoaster and big water slide!!

Never say never. I could also see them building over the parking lot and putting parking either in the MK parking lot across the canal or under the building like AKV.

My guess is that if Disney ever did build a resort in the Caribbean, then it would probably be on St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix, or Puerto Rico as one wouldn't need a passport and it would be under US laws...

From eveyone's input, sounds like the only rumor floating around is a second BLT builiding. But my family is really hoping that Disney is done with DVC at WDW because we want other options and the Caribbean is our choice by a long shot.

I heard Disney is building 2 new boats, the "Wonder" and another boat. The second boat will be 1/2 dedicated to DVC. Points will start at $150 PP.

Rooms will be allocated just like hotels in DVC, points per night. 3-4 day cruises will cost about 250 points and 7 day cruses around 350 points for a family of 4.

I just made this whole thing up but this is what I want. I have a theory that we are the new imagioneers for Disney because it seems like most rumors on this board happen. So lets start this rumor and get this thing done already.

That is awesome.

And in the hopes that your theory is correct, let me state that I have heard from "inside sources" that the Poly DVC resort is all but a done deal.

Disclaimer: The aforementioned statement is a complete fabrication.

And dues would be $50 a point. And you would have to pay for your meals.

We are divers too (or used to be 2 kids ago...). A caribbean DVC with a great kids club is exactly what I was thinking of too, so we could get out and dive again! :cool1:

Yes, I also want one near a ski resort. What a wonderful idea. Just to maybe have a kids club so the adults could go out on the slopes for a bit.
