Any ROFR news?

My resort is VWL and I used Pat Spell at TTS and I also got the call from the closing co. and thought it was strange. P.S. Pat did a great job she knows this market well. I would also recommend Jaki she just did not have a package that I wanted.

That's great news, we're so happy for you. Have fun planning your first visit as a member. For us, it'll just have to wait a little bit longer. AmyBeth and me are going to get it next time. OKW may be a jinx though. Isn't it weird that the BWV are passing at $72 or 73 and OKW isn't at $72. Note below: all that missed were OKW. A pattern?

Mike (and all),
Thanks for the well-wishes. We have a trip planned to BWV in Jan. on rented points (I was going to "check it out", but then this contract came along that looked good to us ), and we are really looking forward to going -- but that is why I didn't care so much about having points right away.

It is really weird that all the OKW ones were taken, but you (and AmyBeth, too) should really try for another one. In the big picture, having to wait for even another month (hopefully not longer than that!) to get what you want won't mean much years from now when you are a member. I think the potential savings and buying at the resort you want to are big advantages of going resale -- so try again! Mine passed at $73 so yours could too!!

It's an interesting dilemma because I could see myself getting mad at Disney if they did exercise ROFR, yet this is the place I want to spend all this money at and vacation at for a lifetime!

If we hadn't gotten this contract I think we would have tried for another resale (and tried again if I needed to). Please don't give up!!!

Yippeee Kathy! I'm thrilled to hear you passed. I'm glad we got some good news on this thread today. Have fun making those plans....you must be so excited!!!!

As for me....it's all okay. Putting it into perspective, this is just a minor set-back but all things happen for a reason. Believe me, this isn't a hardship at all. We are just blessed to have the luxury of buying into DVC in the first place. I know it will work out for us some time . I was pretty disappointed earlier...and a bit dramatic LOL ! But now that I've had time to sit down with DH and discuss our alternatives, we have a new plan and it doesn't involve ditching the notion of DVC. We're just waiting out this sad hurricane, letting everyone in Florida deal with this devastating storm first. Once things are settled a bit, we'll discuss options with Jaki and see what we can find out.

Until then...good luck to those still waiting and congrats to those who passed!! Continued thoughts for our friends in Florida. I'm desperately hoping Frances fizzles into a tropical storm !

Hi, I returned early from my 1st WDW visit the other day, so I didn't get a chance to visit with the DVC rep. What do you guys mean by ROFR passing/missing? Strategy question: If I want to use DVC points for vacation week before Christmas in the future, what use month should I look to purchase in? Thanks!!

After getting Rofr'ed - TWICE we finally passed DVC's ROFR!

All at BWV, We paid closing costs in each case, and only paid MF's on what points would be coming available in the first day of the current use year:

Dec 150pts @ $ 73
Oct 240 pts @ $ 74
Oct 25o pts @ $ 76

We're "ALMOST HOME!"

I had tried to get a 700 pt BCV/Feb uy @ 69 plus paying closing costs & MF's on avaliable pts and a 500 Mar uy plus the same, and got ROfr'ed on both!

This is my first post here... we had our offer accepted on 8/20 and went to ROFR on 8/26. It is for BWV 150points with a Dec. use year. we are to pay $72pp '04mf and all closing costs. I hope we hear back from Disney soon!
Im getting a little confused on all the transfer/renting issuses/rules, but I plan on doing alot of reading here, Im already learning alot from everyone here!!!

Please tell me that 3rd time's a charm! I was planning to wait until after the hurricane situation was cleaned up and business was back to normal in beautiful FL. BUT....Jaki said it's better to take care of business now. So with that said, we are back on the ROFR roller coaster (hey, could that be a new ride at WDW?).

Our offer for a BWV contract was accepted by the seller. We're paying closing and MF on available points. It's a June u/y. Sorry to say we gave up on OKW. I was torn between OKW and BWV all along, so maybe, just maybe this was how it was supposed to work out? Of course, we could still lose this contract but I paid over the asking price. Hoping to secure this deal. Who knows.

You're a trooper! That's what I like about you! We were also thinking of "leaving" OKW due to the documented evidence that OKW contracts are getting ROFR'd at a higher rate then others. Besides, who could complain about calling the BWV's home!!!!

Good luck AmyBeth. We went to ROFR with our BWV resale about the same time as your first OKW resale and we passed. 230 pts, June U/Y. We payed $73, but if we were trying now, I'd offer more! Good luck this time around-maybe BWV will make your third time the charm! Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear on ROFR.

Yes, there have been a lot of OKW contracts not passing ROFR but next week or next month, VWL or BWV or any of the others could be the "flavor of the month"!! Good luck with your next move!!

I agree...OKW is definitely the flavor of the month. I figure soon as I go for BWV they'll start buying those up LOL! Our decision to switch to BWV on this resale is due in part to a very nice contract, location near EPCOT/MGM/BW (as our kids get older this might be very desirable) AND that we felt our luck with OKW just wasn't there. All along I had been looking at BWV contracts, but none were available thru Jaki at the time. When I saw this one pop up on her site last week I actually felt a little bummed that I missed out on it LOL. Maybe I jinxed myself . So I sat down with DH last night and showed him all the pics of BWV from Deb Wills' site. He got as interested as I've always been with BWV.

Now, what I feel we are giving is the nice size studio and the nearby parking at OKW. MF are higher at BWV, but I think OKW's will rise a bit next year due to the new pool. It wasn't a tough decision, I'm excited at the prospect of having my "home" so near the parks!

I'm not sure what evidence that is. It looks like OKW at 72 and below isn't passing. This is the same thing occuring at other resorts. Recently 73-76 at BWV passed. If you want OKW, stay with it, and offer $74. Thankfully you don't pay a fee each time you make an offer. Good luck with your next offer.
