Okay, I've been quietly lurking up until now, but I confess! We are (quietly but anxiously) awaiting ROFR; our agent was on vacation for a week in the midst of it and we were a little slow in actually getting the signed contract in, so I don't know the exact date it went to Disney...I got email from TTS with the open escrow documents on 9/20 so I guess that would be about it. 100 pts at VB (are we optimists or what? but as somebody said, in the long term of 38 years, what difference will the weather this year make?), $66 per point, buyer paying mf, all points intact for 2004 September UY. We'll wait to see if it's meant to be (isn't that poetic?) Cross your fingers for us, please!

Don and Kim....I am SOOOO sorry you did not hear today!!! I was really hoping for ALL of us today!!!

I was shocked to get the phone call...I thought ROFR would be the LAST thing on DVC's mind today!!! But,....I am SURE you will hear tomorrow, or Wed. at the latest. It seems to me that they are "trickling" in a few resorts (and contracts) a day. I don't know that I believe the "ROFR committee" meets anymore. I think they just hold contracts until they have a few at each resort, and then look at them to see if there are any they want to take at the moment. Remember...they did seem to "trickle" in all last week. Plus, Don and Kim...I was by FAR the "cheap undercutter" of the group (out of the three of us), so if I can pass at $73...you both should DEFINITELY pass. I consider your two and my mom's not a question of "if"...simply a question of "when". But, I know that Don is trying to make a ressie...I hope it comes through soon!!!

Mom B...welcome to the "club"...and good luck on your contract!!! My guide told me that DVC wasn't interested in buying VB unless they were INSANELY low!!!, and yours is not in that category. I also think it is in DVC's best interest right now to NOT have a lot of VB on hand.

Thanks for all the congrats (and all the sweet things you guys said!!!) Everyone is SOOOO nice on the DVC board....that's why I'm addicted!!!!

Don...I would LOVE to go next Oct (barring being 7 months or more pg...I can let you know in a couple of months heehee!!!

RuthnPaul...now we REALLY have to plan to get together Christmas 2005....and have a celebration toast!!!!

It's a deadly disease, isn't it??? Funny...we both got our first contracts about the same time...now, we are adding on and you are considering it!!! I thought 210 pts would be "plenty"...now, we just added 200 more, and I told my DH yesterday, "Our next resort to buy at will be OKW!" You should've seen the look he gave me...it was really funny...but, I am TOTALLY serious!!!

We sent in our contract on September 16 and just got the news yesterday. Our closing is scheduled for October 27. We are also paying closing costs and maintenance fees on the 49 points. We're so happy to join all of you. In May, we bought 160 pts. at Saratoga Springs, but then cancelled. 160 pts. just didn't seem enough after we looked through the vacation planner and we didn't think we could afford more. 210 is more like it and the price was right. I wish we still had the vacation planner to look through now. We scheduled a quick trip on November 11 before we put in our offer. I think its going to feel so different going now that we "own a piece of the magic".

When we were at WDW last month at the WL, we took the tour of SSR and purchased 300 pts to become first time DVC members. Now here it is just a month later, and like you, we are awaiting ROFR on 200 pts at VWL!

Now I read that you're thinking about OKW as your next purchase and DW and I also was thinking the same thing. Just too much!

Well Beca, hardy congrats on passing ROFR at the VWL, and we are hoping to be able to join you Christmas of '05 there.

To everyone else that has passed ROFR recently we give you our best!

Okay, rigsby25, now I am really depressed. We sent ours on 9/13...could they have lost it in all the hurricane shuffle???



Don, we are definitely going 10/23-10/27 (DH has a conference, DS's 5th birthday...and...DGP's are coming with us, many for the 1st time.)

If we do not get this, I am inclined to rent points. I'm not sure if we will try again. This is our 2nd time around (seller backed out on #1) and I'm thinking maybe it is just not our time. We shall see.

Kim - don't worry about the time frame. I sent my paperwork down on August 31 and finally heard yesterday. I think RuthnPaul is right, they must just put names on a dartboard and I assume that they only do it when they have nothing else to do! I'm sure you'll hear soon.

And I must confess, I have the disease too. Even before I heard about the OKW contract I put in a bid on 100 points at BWV for 75/point. If I keep this up I'll have to enter a 12 step program for DVC addicts. But I guess that's not such a bad thing.

I'd like to join the ROFR waiting club. I sent our contract in last week for 170 points at the BCV for $78pp. DH and I are so excited. We've been bouncing off the walls.

We purchased through the TTS and I hope things get moving along quickly b/c we're going to
WDW in early November. There are no 2 BR villas available so we're staying at the Marriott Grande Vista. I'm hoping at least for DVC parking privileges. Also, I want to book a big family trip for October next year.

Thank you all for the helpful information you have provided. Ever since we sent in our contract I have been reading the postings. The support you give eachother is amazing. Now, I understand why my DH has to check his Mac Headlines (Apple) every few hours b/c I feel the same way about the DIS.

By looking at these boards, I am beginning to wonder if VWL is not the tiny siren of the ocean. It just seems to call to people "buy points here"!! It's just odd how many people buy somewhere else, and then compelled to "add-on" there. I thought I would go crazy if I didn't find points there!! Weird!!

Congrats, Sylvia!!! Your contract will go through, NO problem!!!

Kim...don't get in the dumps about this....you WILL hear very soon...and DVC is NOT going to buy that contract back at $78 per point, it is just not enough of a "spread" for them to break even on that purchase!!! Just hang tight...I bet you hear in the next couple of days!! I really think they look at a "resort" or two every day, or so....BCV is coming up, soon!!

Well Kim Im with you this is really getting depresssing, I can only imagine how you feel. No renting points though, you are gonna pass on that contract without a doubt. Its just a matter of hearing from the Disney Demons at ROFR

Congrats Kathleen and thanks for the timeline. Our contract just went to ROFR this week. It is our first DVC purchase and it is for 210pts at OKW thru the Timeshare Store.
