Any regrets about taking, or not taking the extension?

I did not feel strongly, one way or the other, about buying the 15 year extension at Old Key West. For that reason, I chose to buy the extension for my 50 point contract because I am more likely to sell that one than I am to sell my 230 point contract and, of course, because that only cost $750 rather than $3450 for the 230 point extension.

I was just wondering if any of you had second thoughts about your decision to extend or not to extend now that the $15 offer is no longer available.

TSS has already had 3 OKW 2057 listings. Im not understanding why someone would extend and then turn around and sell almost immediately.

My regret is more of an emotional response, being a big Disney fan, than a regret of practicality. At my age, it is possible I would be healthy enough to enjoy a few years of the extension, but then again, I could get run over by a car tomorrow...so who knows . In all likelihood, I would never live long enough to enjoy the full benefits of the extension.

I figure if we are able to extend at sometime in the future, even for more $, and if I am healthy enough, I may extend closer to 2042.

As far as I can tell (looking at the terms of the 3 OKW contracts)... it is all one seller. Also... on an asking price to asking price basis (the only option we have) it seemed to be at least $15 higher. However... I do not think there is anywhere near enough data to know what the price delta will actually be.

I just looked at TSS out of curiousity. Of the 3 contracts... two have pending offers. I have no idea what the accepted prices are... but one was listed at $89/point (220 pts), and the other listed at $100/pt (25 points, but stripped).

The final contract is listed at $95 per point (80 points) and that is also stripped. All 3 contracts cannot close until 9/28.

No 2nd thoughts here. I still believe that an extension should have never been offered in the first place. Instead they should have extended to 50 years the other resorts that came after OKW and before SSR. That way when OKW expires in 2042, they would only have one resort to deal with reselling instead of 6. JMO

We decided to extend our contract. Our kids have been going to Disney all of their lives and we bought enough points so we will be able to take our grandchildren one day. This way our children will be able to take their grandchildren.

Happy as a clam; if I wanted to spend $3000 I would have bought a small AKV contract that I could use now rather than points I won't need for decades.

No regrets here, Matter of fact, since selling 1 FL property and buying 1 closer to WDW, we are thinking of selling some points.

No regrets. Will probably buy a resale down the road at SSR and let OKW run out. Or maybe pick up an AKL resale. Or Contemporary?? Either way it will work out.
