We are moving next week and I was out of curiosities sake just getting new quotes on our car insurance since we will be moving to a less populated and less crime area. If I switch to Geico for our two cars I will paying about 300-350 less than I am currently with StateFarm (Same exact coverage from both). Just wanted to know what if any experiance people had with Geico.

We've had Geico for a few years now. DD had a minor accident awhile ago that was her fault. They took care of it, no problems. Our rates did increase, but still much lower than what we were paying Allstate.

we've had GEICO for years and they are wonderful. I would totally recommend them. Just recently, the called to tell me our policy rates are lowering about $300 each period - I've never had anyone call me to tell me that!

I had Geico in the past and had no problems. I was in an accident with a hit-and-run driver, and Geico was a pleasure to work with. I only switched because DH and I got married and we put all our insurance with the same agency.

We've had Geico for over 15 years now and have never had a problem. DH was in an accident in 2003, and Geico was wonderful to deal with. Our rates weren't raised because of our history with them, which was a blessing. We just got our renewal papers and our rates have also gone down. :cheer2:

I've had Geico for several years now, and every renewal my rate goes down. I love Geico! They're a wonderful company. We've never had any problems with them.

we have geico and have had to deal with them in terms of making a claim twice. once was sort of a pain, but i think that was probably because the car involved was a rental car. the one time it was actually our car they were great. our rates weren't raised as a result of either accident (amazing, i know! though we weren't found at fault in either accident).

we also pay significantly less than any other insurer we were able to find. i recommend them to all my friends and family.

I  Geico and I should say that I also HATE State Farm. I have never had a problem in dealing with Geico and I have been with them for 10 years! State Farm is a nightmare. You couldn't pay me to take State Farm insurance!!!

Only thing I don't like about Geico is that you can't pay your bill with a credit card. That would be a nice addition to their service. Otherwise we love them.

We've had Geico and had no trouble with them as a company. Actually very nice to work with, but their rates were sky high for us. We wound up going back to Progressive when we found out we could save about 40% by switching. My husband had a bad run of accidents (2 in one winter) a couple years ago and that upped our insurance. Geico's rates never went down after that for us... wouldn't have switched though if they weren't so dang expensive.

We had Geico and then moved to another state. They double our rates, so we dropped them.

Before switching to Geico, which is a reputable company, I hope you get prices from many other insurance companies as well. State Farm is high, I switched from them to Travelers and saved $400/year on one car for almost identical coverage (the only difference was $50 deductible in comprehensive). I also priced Geico, which was higher than Travelers. After pricing everything, if Geico is still your cheapest quote, go with them.

I worked as an insurance mgr for a finance co. for about 10 years. Geico has an "A" rating by AM Best, a company that rates insurance companies around the world. We very rarely had any problem with Geico paying claims, in fact the owner of our company switched to them because they were so easy to deal with.

The husband of a good friend of mine (insured by Geico) was hit head-on by another person who was insured by Geico. This was several months ago, and as of a couple of weeks ago Geico hadn't even inspected the damaged car. They have made my friend pay for the rental car, and pay for all expenses up front. He was injured, they haven't paid for his PT.

I promised her I would tell her story any time I saw Geico mentioned. This was in PA, if that matters.

Actually PA is the state we moved to where they doubled our rates.

I have priced obviously State Farm and Geico...I also did Allstate, Nationwide, and Progressive. Geico is still cheaper for the same amount of coverage.

I often wondered how that situation would work out. I was hit by a client of GEICO several years ago. He had run a stop sign. I had instant reassurance by GEICO that they would repair my vehicle, because their client even admitted he was 100% at fault. They made the appt for my car to be inspected and it was WAY under estimate of what it should have been. I noticed bent parts in some places on my car that should not have been bent. Anyway, a few days after having my car inspected, GEICO called me to do a phone interview to get my side of the accident. I was then told my story was different from the other person's story in that while there was a stop sign and the person admitted he did not stop, the fact that the sign was wooden, made the sign VOID! I was appauled. i told the person it did not matter if the sign was wodden, metal or plastic.......even the word STOP painted on the road was a valid stop sign! She argued with me and said they would not be repairing my car until they did an investigation. Well, days turned into weeks and I called to get an update on the investigation. Always getting the same story,.....they have not been able to get out to the location to review the intersection. I kept telling them all they had to do was call the local police dept for their answer. I had an unrepaired car, so my only option was to pay my own insurance company the deductible and have the car repaired and then have my ins co take GEICO to court. 6 months after the accident, I got a letter from my ins co.....along with my deductible refunded........I won my case and GEICO had to reimburse my ins co...and my repairs were double what GEICO said they would be.

So, during this case, I wondered what would have happened had I also been a GEICO client. I gotta hand it to them though.....if you are a GEICo client and have an at fault accident with someone from another ins co, they will definitely fight tooth and nail to keep from making you responsible for your actions.

Also, we had GEICO many years before this accident. When we switched to the ins co that took GEICO to court, our rates dropped by 50%....I am not kidding!...same coverage, deductible...everything. My parents have had GEICo for over 35 years and I can back what the other person said about getting into an accident and not having rates increased. I often wonder what they would be paying if they decided to do an inquiry with other ins companies. Maybe that is a reason why they don't increase the rates of an at fault client if they have been clients for many years......because the client has more than contributed to the cost of repair over the years through inflated rates based on what other companies charge.
