Any plumbers out there? Or someone who knows how to change out a bathroom sink?

I need a little help, well maybe a lot of help! I am trying to replace my bathroom vanity and countertop. So far, I have managed to take off the pipe things that are shaped like a U, disconnected the water lines, and removed the countertop and sink.:cool1:

Now, I am stuck, because the holes in the back of the old vanity are about 3/4 inch in diameter. The water lines with the shut offs are about 2 inches across and they have these floating covers(meant to cover the lines entering the wall) that are probably even bigger across than that. I can't figure out what to do or what else to remove to get the pipes through the holes. Do I take the shut off valves off, or the lug nuts that connect to the water lines or what?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give. I have never done any plumbing type work, but I'm hoping I can handle this.

No, the lines are not different sizes. I'm just trying to remove the old vanity and the holes cut in the back of the vanity are not large enough for the water supply pipes with the cut off valves to fit through. I am trying to figure out how to remove the cut off valves so it will fit. None of the tutorials I am finding are telling me how to do that.

Most likely the Vanity was installed with only the Copper Pipe Supply lines exposed. The Shutoff Valves were most likely soldered on after the vanity was installed. I would try to cut the back of the Vanity to make the holes larger to remove it. Hopefully the new vanity does not have a back. Otherwise it looks like you would have to sweat off the Valves and then re Solder them after the new Vanity is installed. You should be able to remove the Valve handles by removing the screw in the middle. Before doing anything shut the water off, accidents do happen

Yep, I had the water turned off at the main valve when I was working on it, because I am not looking to have a flood, LOL. I'm taking a break right now. I have tried to screw off the valves, but was having a hard time. I'll have to try again. If worst comes to worst, I'll just have to cut larger holes in the new vanity. If I cut it out carefully, I may be able to piece it back around the pipes when it is all installed. Thanks for the advice!
