Any pics yet of Dream aft balconies?

They sure don't seem very private.

I guess it depends if your neighbors are nosy or not...
The closer you get to the railing the more people could see you.

Is the balcony for 9174 as big as 10664?!? i am dying to know!

Can you tell us what the problem was?

I can pm you.

Cseca..
I have questions too......

...do the aft verandahs have connecting doors ?...if so, where are the doors ?

I don't remember connecting doors since we don't need a connecting room.
HOWEVER, I saw some yellow suited maintenance CM opened doors between verandah one of the days. Can't tell you if that's something that guests can access or not tho. Sorry.

....can you see people on their balconies below ?
Don't remember seeing anyone below, I can see people above (Cabanas) and sideways.

....what is along side your cabin/verandah where it shows a long thin passageway on the deck plans ?
I honestly didn't see anything but the next door cabin. Not sure if the 10166 people could tell you what it is.

....are there any secret stairs from Cabanas to the aft (and do they go down to deck 9 , and/or other decks below ?))
Yes... sorta... there's a door right in front of our cabin that goes straight into Cabanas. The problem is the door isn't marked AND if you look from the other side of the door it states "Crew Member Only". The only reason we found out is because our Hostess pointed it out to us.
I used it a couple times to save me a couple minutes from going to midship Deck 11 back to the room. But it's not that much of a time savings really.

thanks if you can help :goodvibes

Thanks for answering all of the questions.:thumbsup2

Super excited to get loungers...hoping 9174/9176 have a similar balcony. There was one poster who was going to post pics of 9174 or 9176 but never came back that I saw.:confused3

We almost booked 5186 & 5188 for our Fantasy cruise (the cheaper 9A/6B combo) and our TA talked us into 5190 & 5192 instead. THANK GOODNESS! I'm still a bit hesitant being aft and right below the flag (and next to some odd crew door and at the end of the hallwayy to nowhere with a laundryroom across the way) but I KNOW they will be better rooms than 5186 & 5188 :thumbsup2

We had 5192 on the Maiden. Don't worry about the flag - it only flies in port and the slightest breeze kept it flapping totally above our verandah.

The "odd crew door" was basically a hallway for the crew to go out and raise & lower the flag when in port.

The location was great. The hallway to the aft staterooms on Deck 5 only went down the port side and turned and went across the back in front of our stateroom door. It stopped just a few feet later (right after a couple of crew only doors). It did not wrap around to the starboard side, so no other guests would have any reason to be back there except for the laundry that is right across the hall. I never saw anyone in the laundry (I don't think there is a lot of laundry being done on 3 & 4 day cruises but might be busier on the 7 day Fantasy cruises).

The only negative to the room might be the bass thumping from Evolution on Deck 4. It went until 2 am, but honestly didn't bother us or keep us from falling asleep.

I have these 2 rooms for Feb. 20th. I would also like to see the pictures. In less than 3 weeks I will have plenty of pictures for you.

OHHH, thank you VERY VERY much!
Have a wonderful cruise and take lots of pictures of those two cabins!!!
Please also let me know if they open up to make one big verandah.
Please tke pictures of everything LOL
Thnaks soooo much! Enjoy!!!

Please remind me! lol I am back home on 2/27. Will try to get the pictures on my computer ASAP.

yeah, but we have some issues with this specific balcony ... I wrote in to DCL about it already just as an FYI.
Oh and you better like your neighbors on these aft balconies when you're looking out from the railing.
First time I came out I was startled by our neighbors on our right. I'm sure I looked great in their video recording...:lmao:

lol! I wonder if we'll get along well… well anyways, that won't be a huge problem as I'm sure that they wouldn't want to spend most of their time in their verandah and thanks for the heads up on the video recording! I'll try to look my best lmao… :goodvibes

Thank you! :yay:Any chance you took any pics you'd like to share? I'd love to see the "solid wall" verandah and the layout of the room!

As McQueenfan knows, we were in 9670 on the MV. It is not an official handicap room as yet, but I guess they can easily change that as the basis is there already.

The room is huge, the balcony is huge and you have the perfect view of CC! We didn't book this room, just a 9a GTY .. we were given this room 3 weeks before the cruise and only realised where it was when we looked at preview photos on here.

So, for those who need a handicap room, 9670 has the following:

1. Push door opening .... you show your card to the reader and only have to push the door to open it, not turn a handle.
2. No steps into bathroom or onto balcony .. gentle slopes in the carpet which I kept tripping up!:rolleyes1
3. A roll in shower.

It does NOT have:
1. Automatic door opener like official handicap rooms had.
2. Handles and bars in the bathroom.

Hope that helps people.:thumbsup2

Sorry, just to add ... our balcony (and room) could open to join Stateroom 9672 (also a 9a). We couldn't see any other balconies unless we poked our heads round the 'wall', or if we stood at the end and looked upwards ... but then we could only see people if they were hanging over the edge of their balcony!

Just one bit of clarification, which I didn't see mentioned, where you say above that 9672 is also a Cat 9A room, both 9672 and 9670 are actually both Cat 6A rooms. I know the OP got 9670 assigned as a Cat 9A GTY room assignment, but it was a pixie dust upgrade I assume to the 6A room.

We're in this stateroom in March. Did you happen to take pics? I'm thrilled to know there are nice views of CC from the verandah. :goodvibes

Disappointed at my deck 5 aft balcony if its really as tiny as it looks.

Which Deck 5 room do you have? I didn't think we'd seen any pics of Deck 5 so far, except for 5688.:confused3 But yes, that one is pretty small.

Any pics or info out there for room 8682? I think it is an aft balcony but I am totally clueless! Hope it's not HA because I wouldn't want to take it away from someone who needs it, but we were pixie dusted (is that what you call it?) from a cat 9A so I'm assuming it was a non-issue.

You are going to have a huuuuuge veranda!! :cool1:
Look at the post "Dream special rooms- " not sure how to provide you the link.
Enjoy your cruise!!! :)
