Finally we are going back on the DCL in Janaury. Does anyone know if there are any special perks given to DVC members? Do we tell them we are DVC members when we get there or should we call in ahead of time?

Thanks

They know...I went on a cruise a few years ago and never told them I was DVC but they sent me DVC stuff in my room the whole time I was on board. I can't remember all we got but there is a members reception and they have tatoos and pins at their station.

We were on a cruise this past September and they knew we were there without us notifying them. When we got to our cabin and there was a DVC magnet on the door with an invitation to a meet and greet type thing around 2:30pm the first day. Each day we got a phone message to remind us to stop by the desk for our daily 'suprise gift'. We got red baseball caps, key chains, luggage tags, and a 'captains log'. The log was given to us the first evening in our stateroom and it had lanyards inside. The had information sessions/lectures that if you went, your name was put into a drawing for $300 credit to your room....we went to one of those and there were about 12 people there. They were so friendly the entire time, it was nice!!

Have a great trip!

Thanks for the question OP! I would have never guessed they would do something like that. I assumed they would have some kind of goodie if you were cruising on points. But nice to know they will give you a little gift anyway.
We are cruising on the Magic on Dec 5th. Will look for our goodie and attend the meets!
Thanks!

:goodvibes

They had a DVC desk in terminal last time we sailed 'cash, not DVC points' (directly across from the checkin counter). We stopped by to say hi, and they asked our cabin # and let us know of the meet & greet.

As other have posted, we received lots of different small gifts seemingly every time we returned to our cabin and def. enjoyed meeting other DVCers.:thumbsup2

So if I may ask keishashadow, when you went to say Hi at the desk in the terminal, did they all ready know you were DVC?
Thanks!

:)

On our last cruise, we did not check in anywhere, they just knew we were members. We found a DVC magnet on our door. If you do not see anything, you can check in at the DVC desk on deck 4 to tell them that your are DVC.

We went to the Member's Reception and received a goodie bag with DVC hats and lanyards in it. We also received a nice Captain's Log memory book in our stateroom that also had lanyards in it.

We must be the exception, as on our July Western cruise, we didn't get any DVC freebies until my wife went to the DVC desk on Day 2 and told them that we were DVC members (new members, by about two months). We ended up getting some free DVC things (tote bag, etc.), but there was no magnet waiting for us on our door.

Not a big deal, as we had an awesome cruise...but it couldn't hurt to say "hi" to the DVC people at the terminal before you board!

We're doing the February 4 three-night cruise as our incentive for buying 102 points at BLT. Since we're not paying anything (except the small upgrade), I would not think we would be getting any freebies. What do you think?
