Few and none of any real value. You can use the lounge at the top of BLT. You can pool hop among resorts to the extent pool hopping is allowed (there are restrictions for all members). You can buy the Disney Dining Plan that other members can buy -- not really a discount and renters from members can also buy it. Possibly some others I cannot think of right now.
If you want to "recapture" most benefits (incuding all the discounts) you need to buy a 25 point add-on from Disney after you have become a member.

Sorry, I'm new to this, what do you mean? if my current use year is October, then I have to find a contract that also has an October use year if I want to add on later?Yes, we have over 500 points, but only 100 points of those 535 were bought direct. We get all the same DVC perks as a person who bought all their 535 points direct from Disney. Only "catch" is that all the points must be the same use year.

We are now in the process of buying our first DVC. Is there any membership perks left for us resale people? Other than the fact that I just paid $68 per point?I didn't think so from what I've read, but want to make sure.
Ok, great. I didn't know we even got a card. BTW- I just saw your signature, I also have a 15yo son with autism. Are you saying that all direct-purchase points must be the same use year? I think there are ways around that, but maybe that's not what you're saying, and it's something about resale.
I think you will get a white membership card, direct purchasers get a blue one.
No, if you do resale again, it doesn't matter (though it is easier to keep track if they're all the same). If you buy direct, they'll try to get you to buy the same use year, but there are ways around that for a big contract, and for a small contract, it won't matter as much.Sorry, I'm new to this, what do you mean? if my current use year is October, then I have to find a contract that also has an October use year if I want to add on later?
I figured, with your avatar! But that reminds me to update my signature, everybody's a year older.Ok, great. I didn't know we even got a card. BTW- I just saw your signature, I also have a 15yo son with autism.
Sure, I stole it from someone else ( with permission from another board)You're not missing out on anything worth $100 per point!! Welcome home! I love, love, love your avatar. Can I steal it?
When you buy direct, they will tell you use years have to match. And if they're all available, it's fine, probably not worth the hassle. But if you demand it, they'll let you buy a different UY if you buy the minimum for a first contract, if you really want to. But if you're looking for resale, trying to match UY as well as point number, location, and price can make things difficult. We've managed to keep the same UY for all (gulp) 9 of our contracts, but it just so happens that it was really tough finding a March VGC on the resale market.Sure, I stole it from someone else ( with permission from another board)I'm not really worried about the perks so much to pay double, I get it. Just mainly wanted to see if there is anything we do get so I don't miss it. We do plan on adding in a couple years, so i was confused by that persons comment about use years being the same.
Gotta be either OKW or SSRWhat's your home? $68/point is a good price for a WDW resort. Enjoy your many years of DVC membership.

I'm not sure it was said clearly above. If you own currently, resale or not, and go to add on it's almost always best to get the same UY and same title listing so the points will be combined into one master. It's not required other than if buying under 50 points retail, in that case they won't sell it if it's not a true add on and that's the situation where one would do it for he perks mostly by just buying 25 points retail. IMO the only times one would want a different UY is if one is targeting specific trips where a different UY is advantageous and the negatives of having multiple masters seems worth it. The other situation where it might make sense is if one is trying to get more wait list slots but you'd need a certain volume of points.Sorry, I'm new to this, what do you mean? if my current use year is October, then I have to find a contract that also has an October use year if I want to add on later?
Thank you this makes sense now.If you buy contracts with different use years you cannot combine points from the two contracts for a single night's stay. You have to transfer points from one contract to the other. And you only have one transfer per Use Year. Also if your Use years are far apart (one in February and one in October as an example) you could have problems transferring the points because the points are in different use years because the earlier UY contract of February has already began the next UY of 2017 but the October one is is still in the current UY of 2016.
It is all stated in the Home Resort Rules and Regulations found at this link: https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/important-documents/

The second document, Access to Member Extras, discusses who is eligible for perks and benefits.
OKW extended. I know it was a crazy deal, AND it was loaded. I was sure Disney would take it, but they didn't.What's your home? $68/point is a good price for a WDW resort. Enjoy your many years of DVC membership.
