My DW won a trip to a conference next month :cool1: and I am just forcing myself to go along. We are going a few days early so we can visit some parks before the conference starts. But I will then have 4 days on my own. I have been to disney a number of times, but never on my own and never really paid attention to what it would be like to be touring on my own. So, are there any parks that may be more fun for someone touring by themselves?

While I have never gone solo myself, I think Epcot would be fun to experience alone. Not sure if you drink or not but you could definately unwind there. MK would also be a good option I think, there is so much going on that I think you'd stay busy.
With HS and AK I think you would be finished with everything rather early being alone.
The concept is neat to me because you wont have to go with anyone elses schedule and can be more spontaneous.

I'm finding myself with a day and a half alone on my next trip. The half day I'm going to DTD for some shopping and food, then on my full day alone, I'm going to EPCOT....I think that will be a great park to hang out by myself.

Oh, Epcot, for sure. You will have a blast walking world showcase and snacking and shopping...take time to talk to CMs from other countries, etc...

DHS has a lot of stuff you can easily get lost in, also, especially the Animation portions where you can really go through each exhibit and read the notes on all the sketches and stuff.

I love Disney and could have fun in any of the parks on my own, honestly. It would be a great opportunity to wander and see all the shows, etc.

You could also take a tour one of the days, like Keys to the Kingdom, and then bore/wow your DH with all the in depth knowledge you have!!

I travel to Orlando for business once in awhile and usually stop at WDW alone. I agree with a past poster in that Epcot is a great park (my favorite) to go solo in. I love exploring future world and the world showcase, get a beer from UK or Germany and sit and people watch.

i would think epcot and the ws would be my choice if touring alone. this way you can see some of the shows they have to offer. also eating and drinking around the world is a plus.

I had an 8 day solo trip last March. Honestly, it was amazing. Any/all of the parks are great. The best part is waking up when YOU want to (for me that is 6AM, getting on the first bus that shows up, and having the bus driver take me wherever I want while the rest of the world is asleep), riding all the rides YOU want, seeing the shows YOU want to do.

I sat through the Animation Academy 5 times in a row one afternoon while it was raining. Pure bliss!

Yep. Epcot has my vote, too. I went to WDW alone for more than a week and had the best time. Epcot has soooo many shows, ie-the Showcase players, JAMMinators, Off Kilter, British Invasion...well you get the point. There is a LOT to do and see (and eat) just make sure you take care of your feet. It's just heavenly walking out at night with the fountains and the lights and Spaceship Earth. Oh, my. I'm really going to have to get serious about my next trip plans, now.

So much to see, shop, do. You will not get bored there and may very well meet many singles doing the same thing!!!:surfweb:

I say EPCOT! I would LOVE to be able to walk thru all the stuff in the world showcase and future world without someone nagging at me that I'm going too slow. Get a drink in a few different countries, maybe a snack or two--a great lunch at Chefs de France or San Angel Inn.

This was my dream plan for March.... until my mom found out I was going alone and booked to go with me :rotfl2: Oh well... some other time I supposed :( Have a great time!!

I've moved this thread to the Disney for Adults and Solo Travelers board. :)

I love doing any of the parks solo, though my personal favorite is Animal Kingdom. I could spend hours walking the animal and tree trails. You can really find some great details in the park itself too. My second favorite is EPCOT for pretty much everything everyone else has already mentioned :goodvibes

Almost everyone here is saying Epcot and for me, that would be blah. I don't care much for The World Showcase because I want RIDES.. not shops. I would probably spend more time in AK because it's the park I have been to only once and I love animals. (And EE ROCKS and has a single rider line!!!)

What do you like?

Unless you have to make a decision now, I would say wait until you get there and have done the parks with your DW. Then decide what you, personally, want to see more of or do that you didn't get to do. Each park has so much to offer that it's really more of a personal preference.

I am looking forward to my first solo trip next year and I honestly can't say which park I am looking forward to seeing solo the most. I think they all have stuff to offer. I don't drink alcohol so THAT particular appeal of Epcot means nothing to me personally (though I can see its appeal for others).

Magic Kingdom - Lots of places to sit and people watch. Some of the most classic rides that I think wouldn't be awkward to ride alone or to be forced to use a single rider line and be placed next to strangers. A lot of places to explore and different shops to check out.

Epcot - Lots of places to explore that could have been skipped over before (shops, countries, rides, shows, etc). You can tour at your own pace and check out what YOU want. LOTS of amazing TS places to eat so if eating good food is your thing (it's mine)...this is one of the best parks to do it in. And there are plenty of classic rides here too that you can enjoy and mix with new things.

Animal Kingdom - I really look forward to this one because I sort of feel like some others that it is normally not a park "we" take a full day in...but I feel like there is so much that I have missed at this park because my family never takes time to expore it. And I think THAT is exciting.

Hollywood Studios - There are plenty of shows if that is your thing...the Disney "thrill" rides for adults if that's your thing...definitely a more quiet park. There are some great shops...easy to get lost in a day at this park, especially if see all the shows you want.

So I think all the parks have something to offer depending on what you want to experience. I am sort of selfish...I want to experience them ALL...lol!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Seems like Epcot is the winner. It certainly has some advantages, food and drink for one. But I will need to be somewhat clearheaded at night so I can spend some time with my spouse when she gets done with her days. My one big issue with it is that it is her favorite park and we will be spending the day before the conference there. Oh well. It will be warm, still have feet of snow on the ground here. I will be at disney and as many have said, I will be able to do what I want, when I want to do it. Even if it is simply sitting and watching all the people wandering by me. thanks.

Besides the obvious Epcot WS, AK is great for touring solo. I could spend hours on the Pangani and Maharajah treks watching the animals. My faves are the gorillas, tigers, and meerkats
