The test I'm using is the equate version of EPT. It uses a plus sign for a BFP. If it's negative, it's a minus sign.

Ahh ok. So the minus sign was what was faint? I get it know...

What day do you all normally do a hpt? I normally have 33 day or so cycles, and I know when I O'd, but I just don't know when to test. I hate wasting tests! I am not however having any symptoms, but I am only on 5dpo. My bbs and back may be a little bit sore, and I'm a little tired, or maybe it's just my imagination or something else!

I have a question for you all. I am older and so don't have a lot of time to wait for trying. About 2 months ago, they found 2 cysts one on each ovary and my dr. wanted to wait a couple of cycles to see if they are growing, shrinking or just hanging around. I am scheduled next week for the ultrasound and AF should come at the end of this week. My original ultrasound was just on the outside and the receptionist in scheduling this one, didn't know what kind and just decided on her own to make it a ******l ultrasound. We are finally getting to my question, sorry! I will be having this ******l ultrasound close to when I would ovaluate, will having this type of ultrasound so close to ovaluating effect my chances on getting pregnant? Should I call and switch it to the outside one?

Thanks!

You should be fine... I get internal u/s every other day - all the way up to the IUI (monitoring my eggs). And when I was in early pregnancy - they did 2 internal u/s (barely inside) because the baby is sooooo tiny the external u/s can't pick it up that early.

it's not an issue, in fact that is how they monitor most of us on fertility drugs. I have at least 5-6 u/s a cycle. including 2-3 right up near when i am ovulating, plus the day after ovulation. it's fine and won't hurt anything. well it might physically hurt, if you have lots of follies.....sometimes he moves the wand a certain way and it is painful if you are near ovulation, but other than that, it won't ruin or hurt your chances at all, in fact it is a standard part of the process. good luck!

mickeybar, my RE told me it is good to do it 14 DPO. so if you know when you ovulated, just tack on 14 days. I o'd early this time, on CD12, so i can test as early as CD26 he said, but i might wait it out til CD28 anyways just because i am nervous. my cycles are all over the board usually anyways, so who knows. last month it was only a 25day cycle and i've had as short as 19 and as long as 37 or something. so i go by DPO.

off to lounge on the couch and try and get rid of this sinus infection. finally got some antibiotics (that are safe in case i am prego! 2WW for me). hopefully it helps. i've had some cramping and lower ab pain and lower back pain. not sure what that is about. the cramping could be the antibiotics i guess wreaking havoc on my stomach. who knows! baby dust to all! :grouphug:

oh and count me in as wanting twins too! since i'm 33 and want 2, it'd be nice to get it all over with at once and not have to go through more treatments a second time once i am over 35. ugh! :confused3

LOL, yes, the minus sign is what was faint. Not sure why...I could barely see it. Sorry that was so confusing! This TTC stuff is just too much!

My cousin is due with twins in January, but her doctor told her he'd probably take them 6 weeks early. Her twins were not planned. She found out she was unexpectedly pregnant shortly after her DS turned one....then a few weeks later found out it's twins! So she'll have three babies under two for a few months! I can't even imagine having twins. I guess it's one of those things where you just do what you have to do, then a few years down the road look back at it and think, "how did I do that!?!" LOL!

I'm still holding by breath every time I go to the bathroom, hoping AF didn't arrive. I hate this time of the month because of that!

So I called the Dr's yesterday and they said the results are in the my Dr won't be able to look at them until Wednesday  So hopefully she will call tomorrow. I picked up my 5 little pills (clomid) yesterday so if she tells me to start taking them on CD5 I will be ready.

Thanks for relieving my mind!!! :goodvibes You start to worry about every little thing and what impact it might have! I wish that my ultrasound was already over, I'm am curious to see what my cysts have done since 2 months ago! It is so hard to wait! Just so you know, I'm 41 and have a dd15 and have always wanted another child but have always let something get in the way. I turned 41 and thought, It's now or never! I have seen both my primary and OB/GYN and except for these cysts, I have a green light to go ahead. Next Thursday I will find out the results! If they have shrunk or stayed the same, I can go ahead and try. If they have grown, they would have to do surgery first. :sad2: So, I'm hoping for the 1st choice!!! ;)

Good luck CindyBeth! I hope you get the results you are looking for next week!

Are you concerned at all about the age gap between your kids? My mom and her brother are 13 years apart and are very close.

Hi everyone!

Here is a question for all of you.

I ovulated last thursday night, but we only bd on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night and then we stopped. What are my chances I missed it? Should we have bd Thursday and Friday too? (even Saturday?)

best of luck to you CindyBeth- let us know how the cysts are!

CD17. this 2WW is hard. and now i have to travel next week too- i have to go to AZ for a seminar next wed-saturday. i was planning to test on Friday......now i can't decide since i'll be on the road and alone. would it be better to test alone in my hotel room and be able to cry it out (i prefer being all sad/depressed alone, don't like folks seeing that) and DH while supportive, i don't like crying in front of him either...... but then if i do get a BFP, i would want to share the celebration.....what to do? i can't decide! :confused3

oh and anxiously awaiting insurance and reimbursement....my ins dragged their feet when i initially inquired about coverage for fertility stuff. so after not getting a clear answer, i moved forward and paid out of pocket for 2 IUIs (about $850 total). now i've submitted to insurance for reimbursement directly, but the doc has a contract w/ the ins, so they sent/are sending payment to him instead and i have to beg the RE to pay me back. trouble is, his contract with insurance....he only gets reimbursed $158 out of that $850.

kind of irks me, knowing he is willing to accept only $158 from insurance to pay for the 2 IUIs, but i had to pay $850 if i paid myself. i am sure there is more too it that i don't understand. but it's such a racket.

anyways- i am not sure if they will pay me back the full amount of $850 or only the $158 that they got reimbursed. they at least owe me the $158. But DH is going to be pissed and want to sue them or something if they don't give it all back and i don't want to ruin the relationship, he is one of the top 10 RE's in the country.

i mean they have my money now, why would they give it back? I am hoping they have a good heart and reimburse me the full $850 or that they are ethical and do it. but i don't konw what to expect. anyone else been through a similar situation, having to get reimbursed directly by the doc? Did they reimburse you fully? i was counting on that money to help pay for injections the next cycle if i need it.

I'm possibly 7 dpo. It's hard to tell because I got messed up on charting my temps when I had to go out of town for the funeral. I'm also not too sure what my chances are this month because of all of that. Fertility friend says good, but I just don't know.

My fathter-in-law is a doctor. Several things could happen. Your doctor can rebill under the insurance, give you your money back, and things will be good.

Your doctor can keep the money and bill insurance for other appointments.

Did you call the office? You will get some money back...but I am not sure what. Talk to the office and see what they say.

You best bet next time is to have them bill your insurance, if you are unsure if it is covered. They will send you a bill (doctor) if it is not covered. If it is, you are all set and have no expense out of pocket. Again, this is just how it has worked in my neck of the woods.

skuttle - Thanks for the good wishes! I'm not too worried about the age gap, like your mom & her brother, me and my brother are 13 years apart too! My dd has never wanted a sister or brother, she has been perfectly happy being an only child. She know she has it good! But she is easy-going so I know she will adjust to having a new family member.

exwdwcm - Thanks for good thoughts, too! I think your dr. will at the least have to credit your account for that money for the future as he would be accepting double payments for that one procedure! And in keeping with his contract with the insurance company, I don't think he can do that. I would definetaly ask about that, it never hurts to ask and maybe you will be surprised at the answer! Good Luck and let us know what they say!

thanks for the feedback, very helpful. i am hoping he just pays me. i did call the office this am and they said they have to wait to receive the check from the ins and the explanation of benefits sheet, before she can tell me what i will be reimbursed and when.

it won't help me really to credit my account, because i don't pay him for anything. Everything, other than drugs goes through insurance and is covered (IUIs and u/s, bloodwork). and he doesn't do the drugs, i go to the pharmacy to pay for those. so it would be of no benefit to me to have a credit on my acct. other than for copayments and i doubt i would use $850 worth of copayments at $25 a pop. And what happens if i have my miracle this month and no longer have to see him---again, a credit wouldn't help in that case. oh well, hopefully they reimburse me it all. the Ins did say to call them badk if i have problems. not sure what they can do, but perhaps it messes with his contract or something. who knows. I just have to wait to hear from them once they get the payment from the ins. hopefully soon! Thanks again

anyone hear from Carla- how is she doing!?

Don't worry - there's still a chance you could get a BFP. Sperm can live for a couple days, so BD on Wed could do the trick. BD the day after O might help, but odds are against you there - the egg dies if it isn't fertilized within 24 hours or so.

So you might have hit the mark - BD on Thursday certainly would have been the best, but you got in Wed so you might have a BFP in another week!

Good luck and lots of baby dust!!

Today I am on cd25, 6dpo, and I have 33 day or so cycles.

My bbs are SORE today! What does this mean so early? AF is due next week, but is it to early for pregnancy symptoms?
My bbs used to get very very sore before my period before my m/c, but my last 2 periods since then they haven't really.
Any thoughts? :confused3

Who knows!?! With my DS, I had no symptoms other than fatigue. Now, I analyze every possible symptom! It's driving me nuts! I'm on CD 27 and usually have around 30 day cycles since being off of BCP, so I'm just a little ahead of you. I tested a couple of days ago and had BFN and I'm trying to wait to test again until the weekend. I don't ahve any tests in the house, so I'm doing well so far!

*sigh* Why do AF symptoms have to be so damn close to pregnancy symptoms! :faint:

I have no idea, but mine are too. they always get a little like that around O, but never like this. AF is due next week for me too. :confused3
