Any other DISers trying to concieve? Reread OP for the QOTD!

Hi! I have a 2yr old and I am currently TTC also! I have been trying since July, and still no luck! I am charting and all, but I've seen a few people mention temperature. Can someone tell me what this means?

I did want to share some advice with the woman who say they don't want to tell anyone in the family yet. Do it! I didn't tell anyone with my first child, and my competitive SIL got pregnant a month before me, and since I didn't tell anyone, she thinks I copied off her! Petty, I know! I was trying for a year too! It has been a nightmare ever since! If you have someone like this in your family, seriously think about telling them you are trying!

I had talked about TTC with only a couple close friends: one of my dearest friends who started TTC about 6 mo. ahead of us and is now due Dec 16, and another good friend because I nanny for her baby girl and wanted to give her a heads up that we'd need to make some changes down the road if DH and I got our BFP. It was DH who announced to his entire family (and pretty much anyone else who would listen) that we're TTC. And he's the reluctant one of the two of us! Oh well. Fortunately no one is asking for all the gory details yet. My SIL told me that since DH told her that we're TTC, she saved all of her maternity clothes for me. She's very stylish, so that's a good thing! Now if I can just manage to get that BFP before the clothes go out of fashion, we'll be all set...

I'm on CD29 with no clear sign of O or AF yet. I think I may have O'd about 3 days ago based on temps and CM, but fertilityfriend still says "ovulation not detected". Oh well. We'll see what happens. I guess this is all just a reminder to me that I can't be in control of everything in my life!

Hi everyone did the 2nd iui and kevin's count was 57 million more than yesterday. Been having some cramping on the left side. Oh and I got a job I will be selling insurance for a company called Banker Life I am still not sure about it but am meeting with them tommorrow and I have alot of questions. No BFP for me yet, either. I'm on month four. I just took my last OPK test and it was neg, but the line was closer. I just told DH I needed to get a new box for the next week. His response? "What if we just do it straight for the next week? It'll save us 15 bucks..."

Omigod, does he talk to my DH??? Too funny...my DH said the same thing. I told him I wanted to reallly know when I O in case I do need to go the the OB and show her all my cycles. He thinks it is crazy that the OPK tests cost so much. O well....I told him just wait until we have a baby!!

So I tested yesterday, and got another BFN. No signs of AF yet, and my temp continues to go up (98.4 today?). I know last cycle it dropped to like 96.6 the day AF came. So....now every morning I am scared to look at my temp! My bbs are a bit sore - but closer to my armpits than my bbs?? Or maybe it is b/c of all the painting I have done??

Hello all.

Good luck to those of you in the 2ww! Every day is soooo long, I know!

My good friend got pregnant on her honeymoon 2 months ago. She never had any pregnancy symptoms at all. She says she still doesn't feel pregnant...no m/s, no sore bbs, etc...I am using this as a reminder to myself to not freak out if my bbs don't hurt!

This is our first month TTC. Think I ovulated 2 days ago. I am trying to go into this with an open mind and remember that God's plan might be different than mine! (We all know how simple it is to not obsess and just take it easy, right?!? )

I am determined not to test until the 2nd day of my missed period, if it doesn't come. We'll see if that lasts!!

I agree re the symptoms. I didn't find out I was pregnant with DS until I was about 2 weeks late! I was in the middle of law school finals and thought my being late and the fatigue (my only real symptom) was all from finals stress! Never had sore bbs, never had morning sickness. Now, of course, every little possible "symptom" I over analyze, hoping it means a BFP. I keep hoping I throw up soon. About 8 more days for me until I will test.

I got extremely sore bbs when I was pregnant last time. They didn't start hurting till cd31 or cd32 though, but that was my only symptom. I normally get sore bbs with my periods, so I just thought it was a very, very bad period on its way. I took a hpt for the fun of it on cd37 and it was positive and I threw it in the trash because I didn't think the second line was dark enough. I really was just in shock. My DH came home and I told him I took a hpt but I didn't think it was. He went out to the garage and dug threw the trash to get it and said, "you are pregnant!" That was really strange! Since it was only my first month trying, I really wasn't expecting to get pregnant that fast I guess.

Do you mean temp'ing in general? Your basal body temperature is a good indicator of when you will O. Take your temp first thing in the morning - before you get out of bed or do anything! Record the temp each morning, and monitor how it fluctuates. Once you see a raise in temp (for eveyone it is different - for me, mine went from 97.3 to 98.0) for about 3-4 consistent days, that means that you O'd on that last low temp day before it spiked. Your temp will stay elevated throughout your luteal phase (the phase following O) and will drop down again once AF comes. That is the basic concept of it. I found temp'ing to work better than the OPK kits! Good luck!

To get more information, check out www.fertilityfriend.com and follow the "getting started" link on the left side of the page. This will lead you to some more links like "charting basics" and frequently asked questions and you can take a little tutorial on how to temp and how/why it works.

Another awesome resource is Taking Charge of Your Fertility (TCOYF). It's a great book, and there's also a website with some of the info from the book. I really recommend reading TCOYF for anyone trying to get pregnant - there's so much about our cycles that no one really tells you, and this book covers it!

And of course, keep asking questions here. I've learned tons from the very helpful women on this thread!

went for another u/s today, three worthy follies.....22, 19 and 17. one at 12 now (plus a bunch more at 10 or under, that don't count). so they all grew from yesterday at least 2-4mm each. do the ovidrel trigger tonight and IUI on friday. i am concerned the 22 will be too big/overmature, but they said it would be fine and that i'll have 3 follies worthy. maybe even the 12 will grow, who knows. we still have 2 days. so here's praying and hoping!

ladies good luck on testing- when do you plan to test again? still no AF? i actually got her early after my lap on CD25. weird.

how was your halloween? here's my little niece that came to trick or treat in my neighborhood- i think my sis feels bad for my ttc problems, so she brought my niece over!

she was Belle- she takes after me with her love for Disney!

I'm convinced I'm not pg for a reason -- the contract for my commercial was just renewed for another two years, and the production company is flying DH and I to NYC for a long weekend next week! And I can enjoy a few cocktails and fit into a cocktail dress now. That's the one thing I'm hanging on to!

Well, the exciting news is that my internet is now working from home!! The bad news is that I took another HPT today and it was a BFN. So, I think this cycle is a bust. I am due any day to get AF. YUCK!!
