Ack! Twins?!! That's it....the BDing is CALLED OFF for this month! :rotfl:

I don't know about the thermometers -- we have a digital one, but I thought the BBT ones had two decimal places, instead of one. I'll check near the pregnancy tests next time I'm in the drug store or Walmart.

Also, my temperature is usually pretty low (97.3 ish). Do you think I'll still be able to track it and notice a change during O?

You really only need a BBT that has the one decimal place. It'll be enough to show a change. Usually my temp is 96.9 before O and 97.6 after (give or take a tenth of a degree). When I was pg in May, it shot up well over 98 after about 8 DPO. After a few months of temping you won't even need to chart everyday. You'll get a good idea of what to expect.

I got my BBT from drugstore.com. I think this one. Hasn't failed me in over a year!

Hope you all are doing well!

I got my BBT at Wal-mart (the same pink one someone else described). My temps were always pretty low.

You know something funny? I actually kind of miss charting. I know that sounds completely stupid since I already achieved the whole point of charting, but I felt like when I was charting I was maintaining some control over the whole situation.

Now that I'm pg, it's just a sit-and-wait for this kiddo to come out sort of deal. I'm feeling a little restless. Too early for restless.

Whoever asked earlier- I have my u/s appt. on 9/28 to find out whether it's a boy or a girl! 2 weeks. I am beside myself.

To everyone on here TTC- I'm sending you loads of prayers and baby dust!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :wizard: :cheer2: :cheer2: :wizard:

Does anyone here know if it is also true that the first 3 months after a m/c you are more fertile? If so, why is this true?

I finally got af after a little over 4 weeks and I feel so much better about my m/c now. DH and I are going to start TTC this weekend. I am so excited! :goodvibes The past month has gone by so slowly waiting for af but she's finally here.

Everyone please pray for me that I get pregnant fast and end up with a healthy baby this time. :cloud9:

I've heard this as well...I've seen in on the Babycenter boards.

Mickey took him, turned him around and made him face the corner while all this transpired! It was hilarious! Thankfully there were two CMs in the room, one with our camera, and one with the Photopass camera. The picture in my siggy is the one from our camera -- the Photopass one didn't capture the full effect of DH facing the corner!

I think it's one of my favourites from our honeymoon!

I have to say that I absolutely love it!! :)

So, I'm waiting for the bleeding to end from my d&c. Not sure how long it will last. I've read that it will take about 4 weeks from that time for AF to come, then we're going to try again. I'm really hoping that it's true that you're super fertile after a m/c, as I really really really really really want to have a baby...soon!

Good morning ladies!

Well, only 2 more workdays (yay!) left of the week, but this weekend, I'm super busy. On Saturday, I have an all day refresher course for an exam in October to get my HR certification. Sunday, we're down in Toronto for my company's employee cruise. Should be fun!

Last night at WW, I was happy to see a 2.2 lb loss on the scales! WHOO! I figure that even though we're TTCing now, there's no point in in stopping the program and gaining before I have to!

Hope everyone is having a good week. I'll pop on later to say hi again!

It took me about 6 weeks from the time of my D&C til I got my first AF. But everyone is different. My ovulation was a little off too. I had been charting to get pg so I knew when the o day should be but it was about a week later than usual the first two cycles after my D&C.

Also - I must have been super fertile because DH was only home for ONE night in a 2 week period. And that's all it took!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to stop in and say hi and share a story about DH...

Well, Mr. Reluctant-to-start-TTC-while-laid-off went and told his mother that I was in for the HMO "recommended" Pre-Conception appointment! His MOTHER! :rotfl: Good heavens, if you don't want to have a baby right now, the last person you should be telling about your wife's pre-conception appointment is your mother! :lmao: :rotfl2: So of course ever since he told her about it she's been asking all kinds of questions and trying to not be too nosey, but she's clearly excited and would like news of a new grandbaby ASAP. I told her to talk to DH - he's the one holding up the baby train! :teeth: And of course she's passed on the news of my appointment to all 3 of DH's sisters, and one of my DSIL's has dropped off her conception/pregnancy/childbirth books. Too funny...

Gongrats Grumpy. Sounds like he is on his way to the train station!! Baby dust to you!

IMarriedGrumpy, that's good news! Telling people means he's excited. Excited is good. :thumbsup2

MsExplorer, congrats on the weight loss! That's great. It's so nice to see results of hard work.

I ovulated 5 days after the bleeding stopped from my m/c. I didn't get a BFP, but I bounced back really fast. So, it's really possible to get back to "work" right away. I asked my RE if she thought it would be a problem if I got pregnant. She said it wasn't IDEAL because of the lining issue. But, she said it has happened.

I'm doing pretty good this cycle. After suffering like crazy on this horrible Metformin, I'm only going in every OTHER day instead of every day. I cling to the small victories. ;) My follicles are all growing at the same rate and there isn't an overload of them - there is just the right amount. My E2 is pretty high, so I'll probably still get OHSS, but I expected it, so it's not a big deal. I'm down to 75iu of Follistim. I go back tomorrow. We're thinking I'll be back Monday, take my final shot Monday night, and have my surgery Wednesday. Bring on the Versed!!

Has anyone heard from Jen? She had her first OB visit and never came back to tell us how it went. :guilty:

Has anyone ever tried Clearblue Easy Ovulation Tests? It seems like those would be so much easier than temping. Has anyone used them and if so, have you had any luck and do they work? I don't know anything at all about them.

Thanks!

I haven't used them, but my ob recommended using them instead of temping. She said the biggest issue is the cost - you can expect to shell out anywhere from $30 to $60 a month using them depending on a) where you buy them and b) the length of your cycle. I've been using the fertilityfriend website to chart and that has been working well for me, so I might use the ovulation tests as a supplement when I get close to ov. date, but I think I'll wait to spend the money until we've been trying for a few months without a BFP.

While I haven't started charting or anything, I was thinking the same thing -- we've only been trying for 11 days...I'm not too concerned about anything funky going on yet!

We've been a very quiet bunch the last few days...

Hope everyone's various treatments and tests and activities are going well...

If you can get the Easy Read ones, get those. They give you a little smiley face when it's "time". The regular ones force you to stare at the line to tell if it's same as or darker than and sometimes the line is broken and it's really hard to tell if it's "same as".

My ovaries are about to blow out of my body. These kids are just follicles and they're already messing with me. :goodvibes

I hope all of our moms-to-be are doing well.

Becky, what happened with the job?? Did you give them one last kiss off before you left?!?

Jen, is everything OK? :guilty:

Sorry, I'm a wicked slacker....

Anyways, the first appointment was OK. I got all of the labwork done (and me afraid of needles.... :) ) I saw the nurse practitioner, who was kind of slow. She didn't want to order an u/s to confirm dates, even through the doctor recommended it. She couldn't tell me whether I could continue taking my two prescription meds, so I ended up looking them up myself. It was just kind of weird. I have an appointment with my regular doctor on October 3rd, so I guess I'll just get everything organized then. We're leaving on vacation next Friday for a week, so I won't have any time to obsess about all of this then :cool1: But morning sickness set in for sure this morning - every little smell made me nauseated. The worst smell seems to be wet dog - unfortunately I have 2 of those in the house, and when they know you don't feel well, they're right next to you :guilty:

ImarriedGrumpy - if he's telling everyone about it, that's a good sign!

Happy BD'ing and temping to you all - have a great weekend!

Jen

PS - what's Kristy up to? Has anyone heard from her?

Carla- the job thing has really been a non-issue for me, to be honest. Since I spent most of the last half of July and most of the first half of August in the hospital, I knew there was no way I could work anyway. They offered to let me come back as soon as I'm feeling better or after the baby is born, but now I don't even know if I want to. It was a decent job that paid ok, but it's not what I want to do with my life (not that I know what I DO want to do with my life). Plus, I'm still just kind of mad about the fact that they fired me instead of offering me a leave- even if it was non-paid. But, oh well. Everything happens for a reason. Just have to wait and see what the reason is!

Jen- that sucks about your not-so-satisfactory 1st appt.

I had a morning bout of gagging in the sink. I was doing so well- but I didn't do my IV last night and I think that messed with me. I still have trouble getting in enough fluids to keep myself hydrated, and the minute I start getting dehydrated is when I start the whole vomiting thing again. Arg.

Imarried - YEAH on DH getting excited! I remember when we let it leak that we were TTC way back in 2001. It seemed EVERY FREAKING MONTH someone asked "how's it going". Praying you get your BFP quickly so you don't have to go through that...especially now since the IL's now! They were the worst in my book!

Carla - arg on the OHSS. I have a friend who had IVF in July and has been in the hospital since beginning of August with OHSS. Her liver and kidneys have failed, and they are contemplating a feeding tube because of all the pressure, she gets too sick to eat and hasn't. It's scary what can happen!!!

Steph - I didn't have a D &C, but I had a m/c at 9 weeks back in August of 2003. I believe I started bleeding on the 25th. I got AF next October 2. Got pregnant that cycle with my now 2 year old son :O) So, I believe you are definitely more fertile after a m/c. This current pg - I had a m/c on May 13, got AF again June 10, and then July 9, and now I am 10 weeks pg! Weird how it happens. It's like my m/c shocked my body into doing something right..

Becky - sorry about the job situation. And ick on getting vomit-y from dehydration. I haven't gagged or really even been nauseated in close to a week now ***knock on wood****. I think you said, but when is your big u/s? Is it the 29th or am I thinking of someone else?

Jen - sorry your appt wasn't all it should have been. Had I not weasled an u/s out of my dr on Monday, mine would have sucked, too. Too early to listen for hb, too early to do a pap (b/c of my personal risks), etc. Hoping your next one is kick - ****!
Hi everyone else! Hope you are all well. DH is working all weekend, so it's just me and the boy. Looking forward to it. He has been SOOO naughty lately - typical 2 year old things - sassy and acting out. But I am looking forward to having some one on one time to help him relax. He gets really frustrated, I think, since our nights are so chaotic. We get home at 6, eat dinner, bath time, play for a bit and he is in bed by 8. It's hard. On all of us. I live for my weekends so I can just hang out and catch up, you know?

My U/S is Sept. 28th. Which is also DH's birthday- so he is thrilled.

I'll be almost 18 weeks at that point, which is a little early for the gender U/S, so I am so worried that they won't be able to tell what it is. I just HAVE to know! My luck- the kid will be totally uncooperative.

Carla- hope those follies are doing well! i hope this month goes great for you. sounds like things are slowly coming together and getting better? i'll be thinking of you! :wizard:

Minnesota- so you had 2 m/c and got pregnant after each right away? how amazing! congrats on your current pregnancy!

Becky- hope you get to feeling better. :cheer2:

Jen- sorry to hear about your 'weird' appointment. after this long journey, i guess we just expect more. hopefully when you see your other doc things will go better.

still just doing the 2WW here. the IUI was Tuesday, so next Tuesday will be a week. I should be able to test in about 10-11 days. I'll be on the road in San Diego for a tradeshow (i work in marketing/PR). so i might wait and test when i get back. who knows- i can always jsut call DH if it is good news, right? Not sure I can make myself wait to test! :rotfl: you guys know the feeling all too well.

i am going to force myself to work out tomorrow- i have slacked since our WDW vacation and over the last month. i need to get back into it and want to be sure i can be healthy going into a pregnancy and work out lightly to stay in shape somewhat. i've felt so crappy from all the side effects so i've been lazy. and I still feel like a whale from the bloating. i swore i stepped on the scale one morning and had gained 5 lbs from the previous day. the next day, i had lost 7lbs. talk about some crazy bloating and water weight! (i drink a TON of water). :rotfl: :confused3

have a great weekend ladies! ! :wizard:

Michelle, of course you can call DH!! When I tested the 1st time it was too early and then I left to go to Brazil for 2 1/2 weeks. While I was there I tested again and was a BFP. So I had to call DH super long distance to let him know!!

I was wondering...if I got my AF at 9:00 pm on Saturday night the 9th, does that mean that I really don't count that day and my AF actually starts on the 10th? I told my OB nurse last night and she said after 4:00 pm you count the next day as day #1. Does that make sense?

I got my period at 9:00 pm on the 9th, but since I got it so late she said my actually start date for AF is the 10th, which would be day #1 of my cycle.

Just wondering since I had never heard of that before.
