I'm trying to decide whether to take the kids to Nick Hotel in December for 2-3 nights. Do the rooms have baclonies? Is there a preferred area? i would like to be near a food court so I could easily get drinks/snacks, without having to spend a lot of ton walking around.

Anyone?

None of the rooms have balconies, not sure what you mean by preferred, and you most likely want to stay in a room close to "The Mall", so I'd choose Buildings 5, 6, 7, and 1, those buildings are closest to it.

We stayed at the Nick a few years back when it had just opened. Drove up from Naples for a few days of fun before the holidays. Did not go to any parks during the day, as we were there just for the Nick's pool and have been to all the parks many times. But we did do Dowtown disney at night to get our "Disney fix" in. DD's were around 8 yrs. old and loved it. It was a few days before Christmas and cold 60 degrees but they loved the pools anyway. The entire pool area had Christmas-y music being played which made it more festive. Ask for the bldg. near the "Mall" to be closer to the food court. The rooms have a fridge and microwave (some even have a kitchen). We went to the Publix and bought lunch food so we didn't have to leave the pool area for lunch. Made the sandwiches in the room and ate at the poolside tables. We brought with us little packets of mayo, mustard, etc. that I've collected - makes it easier than buying condiments just to make a quick sandwich! Brought microwave popcorn from home too.
The hotel has great themes and is best for the under 12 age group. Shows and activities are fun but the pool and slide area is best. DD had her hair braided and they were both in a pool slime show.
We had 3 room suite, one king bedroom w/tv, 2nd bedroom with bunk beds and tv, living rom wtv/ and kitchennete. The rooms are designed after a Nick character and it's fun to be surprised when you open the door to see what character your room is. The rom was perfect for 4 of us, but could squeeze in 2 more, although only 1 bathroom. It's close to everything and has a shuttle to the parks.
The food in the mall was ok, typical for the area. If you have litle ones, this place is awesome, but beware of the December weather. When will someone build a hotel with an "Indoor water park"???
Have fun.

^Actually, the next in the chain of the Nickelodeon Hotels may have an indoor waterpark... It'll be in San Diego.

this is from our last trip

Thanks everyone!! Just today I realized that dd10 b-day is at the beginning of a 3 day weekend. I was planning on going to NH but realized if a great Ding came out we could do 2-3 days at Nick Hotel for hte same price as driving 4 hours to NH.

Hum, 3 hour plane ride to Orlando or 4 hour drive in a car with 3 kids? Hum, choices, choices:rotfl:

Come on ding!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you happen to know when this one will open? We live an hour away from there. We are going to WDW in August and my DS's are not too happy that I didn't book at the Nick hotel!

Does the Nick hotel have day rates if you just want to hang out for a day and not sleep over?

Thanks for your help!

did anyone notice in one of those photos- the tv is set on High school musical? lol

My kids wanted to go to the Nick Hotel, but my husband and I don't really care for Nick too much. We really only like Dora, Diego, and Blue's Clues. Our older kids like some other shows, but they are no longer allowed to watch them. I noticed a lot of the kids walls seem to be painted in the 'fairly odd parents' and that is one show that is forbidden.

oh well- guess we will stick to disney.

hope you guys have a great time!!!

I'm fairly certain you can request what theme of room you want.
