I'm working out of state and haven't heard any local reports. Is there any indication yet of which way the voting is going?
in short, yes. If the campaign was run anything like it was in WI, the Yes people were telling everyone a no vote is a vote for gay marriage because it will pave the way for "activist judges" to allow gay marriage.Okay, I've had three people here at work stop by my office and offer their condolences on the passage of Amendment 2 this morning.
Two of those three people said that they voted against it, and thought that if it passed Scott and I would be able to marry legally.![]()
I thanked them for voting against discrimination, but it got me thinking.
How many people thought that if they voted against Amendment 2, that they were voting FOR legalization of gay marriages in Florida?
I've already run into two people who thought exactly that! (And my office only has six people in it, and I've spoken to all of them about Amendment 2.)![]()
How many other people voted FOR Amendment 2 because they thought that a vote against it would mean legal gay marriages?
Are people out there THAT uniformed?
Did we do that poor of a job explaining what was at stake?

From the fact that gay people raise gay children and straight people raise straight children, remember? Because ya know, we were all raised by gay parents and are gay because of it.I don't recall any of that, here.
Just lots of "protect the children!" nonense.
Protect them from WHAT, exactly?![]()
