Any News On Soarin' Expansion?

Maybe Soarin World isn't confirmed but I've seen a lot of rumors about filming in different locations.

And even if they changed nothing it would still make sense to have a 3rd theater. Epcot needs to expand capacity at Soarin, TT, or add a new E ticket ride. Which one of those options seems easiest?

And my comparison with the Empire State Building wasn't to be taken too seriously. But, come on, we all wonder why it takes Disney so long to do things. Building codes or whatever excuse there is, 2 years seems a long time to build a 3rd theater.

It took 1 year to build the Empire State building using 1930's technology. But it will take 2 years to build a new theater and add a new film to SOARIN'.

Comparing apples to oranges a bit.

More than 3,500 workers totaling over 7 million hours of labor completed the project.

There were no structures, busy streets and/or clamoring tourists to slow the project.

At the time, the neighborhood surrounding 34th Street was fairly vacant.

The Observation Deck generated more revenue than rents for a few years.

It took almost 20 years before the owners staring profiting from rents.

5 people died during the project.

Can you imagine how crowded it will be if they open with one new soarin theater and one old one. The line for the new version will be a zoo. I wonder if they will open a FP+ just for it.
Why would it be any different then it is now? They now have two theaters so if they build a third and close one, they still have two. Unless you mean that they would put in the new movie in just one and not the other two, in which case, I will ease your mind... that won't happen. Once they get the equipment installed, setting up the film and programing the ride is a small part of it.

So there is no new movie? What's the point of expanding then?
There will be a new movie, but, rumor has it that it will not be shown until Singapore is completed so China will show it first. In the meantime we are going to have to be happy with the old one. The expansion is to help make the lines shorter because the demand is too high for the capacity. As much as I hate to admit it, Disney must be taken in baby steps. If they could shut it down where would all the people that currently stand in line for an hour go. There is a big difference between building with no barriers in the way and having to deal with a park full of people and just straight up construction.

I just remember Test Track being down for several months during its upgrade and the mess it caused at Soarin'. I can't imagine that this time around Soarin' would be shut down completely for this expansion. What a nightmare TT would be.
