Any Little House on the Prairie Fans?

I watched it every day after school growing up. (I still watch the re-runs now) I was about 11 when Micheal Landon died, and I remember crying when I heard about it on the news. I also read all the books and actually toured the actual house Laura and Almanzo lived in.

Since you are the biggest fan, I'm posing this question to you: I was up last weekend around 3 or 4 in the morning and the episode where Almanzo's older dying brother comes to visit was on. It was Part I of II and of course they only showed Part I. What happened during Part II? Did they adopt Almanzo's niece? Great show! I'm going to make an effort to try to catch some more episodes. :thumbsup2

Yes, they did adopt Almonzo's niece, Jenny, played by Shannen Doherty (from Beverly Hills, 90210).

I love Little House on the Prairie. It was my favorite show growing up and I still catch it on TVland.

I asked DH for the 1st and 2nd season on DVD for Christmas, he did not get it. I got Billy Joel Tickets instead. :thumbsup2

Maybe for Mother's Day.

It looks like we have enough interest for a fan club. Maybe we should even have a field trip to the Little House sites, and of course, throw WDW into the mix. :) Hey Princess Pumpkin I didn't know Willie and Laura were really brother and sister.

Although I probably should be a "closer" fan (growing up as a black kid in the inner city :) ), I can proudly say that "I am not ashamed to be a Little House" fan. I quote from the shows all the time. I used to always say "I hate ya, ya know" (Nancy said this to Albert at the end of one show). My favorites are "The Lord is my Shepherd) There's just something about the whole "undying faith in God" thing that gets me every time. Another one is three part episode where Albert falls in love with the girl that's being emotionally abused by her father (for growing up too soon) and eventually is raped by a man in town. She gets pregnant and Albert offers to marry her, but she dies escaping her attacker. Heartwrenching! Didn't find out until much later than Laura and Willie were actually brother and sister in real life.
That would be Thylvia ,who gets attacked by a Mime, says Kith Me My Wub to Albert and then dies

YES, ME TOO, ME TOO, ME TOO!!!!

I love LHOP and we watch every single night as a family on 8:00 p.m. on TVland and we look forward to it.

I love the episodes when they're were little girls and of course older. I don't like James and Cassandra too much but I know they put them on cuz Carrie wasn't a good actress.

I know lots and lots of behind the scenes secrets too.

What makes me mad about TVland is that skipped some episodes... :furious:

I love that show!!!

How did they come to live with the Ingalls? I didn't see the episode where this happened. Thanks.

James and Cassandra came on around season 7 or 8 and they were on for about a season or so.

Some "fans" just never liked those two, just too much or didn't fit right in, and other reasons.

J&C parents were killed and Charles Ingalls tried to get a family to adopt them both, but after a few attemts, Charles and Caroline fell in love with 'em and adopted them James and Cassandra Cooper Ingalls.

I personally liked the addition of Albert but James and Cassandra I have "eh" opinion of them.

I started reading those books when I was in Kindergarten...early reader...and now my DS7 in 1st grade is starting to read my old books. I have the entire series with the letters & Rose's book. Now I see that there are three more series to the books and I am hoping that DD will like the books enough for me to buy those. ;) DS & I enjoyed watching the newer movie that was out last year & shown over 4 weeks. He was amazed at how they lived & is really interested in reading more about them. I am going to have him read Farmer Boy next so that he gets to see more of Almanzo's story. I had to laugh when I was unpacking my books. You can tell they are older...the price for all of them is 95 cents or 1.50. ROFL!

Used to LOVE this show. :) Read most of the Little House books (whatever my library had)

I have regretted for the longest time not making my screenname Halfpint.

Every Tuesday night, back in the 70's I parked myself. Never, ever missed an episode. Then Thursday night, it was the Waltons. :thumbsup2

Count me in as a Little House fan, I've watched it for many years and never seem to grow tired of seeing them over and over again. My favorites are the Christmas ones and Sweet Sixteen, when Manly finely starts noticing Laura.

I have all the DVD Seasons, although they aren't perfect, they are commercial free and you can watch them anytime you desire, so for me a Little House fan, they are a must have!!

FYI for anyone looking for Little House DVD's checkout Deepdiscountdvd.com
they have the seasons for fairly cheap considering others and free shipping. I've never had any trouble. Shipping is a little slow (but free).
I have no ties to them but wanting to help out LHOTP fans.

LOVE Little House!!!

always have to watch the Christmas episodes every year!!!

always loved Laura. Had times I hated Mary and Carrie. Wasn't crazy about Albert either. Couldn't stand Cassandra and Jenny!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always liked Willie and was hoping he would date Laura (lol didn't know they were brother and sister at the time).

Some of my favorite episodes:

when Almanzo started seeing Laura as a woman and was so confused

Percivel and Nellie falling in love

when Carrie fell down the mine shaft

That was a perfect impersonation!!!! :rotfl2: She went on to the last season or so of Fame, but I couldn't think of her as anything but Sylvia.

Me too!!! I LOVE Little House on the Prarie. I remember watching it with my grandparents. Such wonderful memories. There are so many that I like, hard to choose But my favorites are...

The series pilot. LOVE all the scenes... Mr. Edwards at Christmas, the Indians coming to visit, Jack getting lost and then finding the family again, "We each got our own cups now"

A Christmas they never forgot.... This is the one where they gather at the Ingals for Christmas and Mary and Adam surprise Ma and Pa by coming to visit. The snowstorm snows them in and they recount all their favorite Christmas memories. This is a must every year for Christmas

And I LOVE the one with Fools Gold. I love seeing Laura in her pretty dress and coach and seeing Nellie and Mrs. Olson in rags! LOL!!!

Right -- Laura and Willie are brother and sister in real life and both adopted

Albert and Andy Garvey are brothers -- both adopted

Miss Etta Plum is Michael Landon's daughter - nepotism. She also played the pregnant woman in the stage coach when Mary and Adam were going to receive the Louis Braille award and the stage coach flipped over, etc. And the character played the dishwasher co-worker with Laura Wilder was going to summer school in Arizonia.
