So I just went to target.com and looked at the collection...it's Vera Bradley in clothes form.
But they are the real things, even if they are lower quality for a discount department store. A knock-off, to me, is buying a Gucci purse from a street seller in Manhattan.
Didn't get anything. I read online that they will not re-stock. I can't imagine that this is true.
I have quite a bit of Lilly in my closet and so does my daughter. Most years I buy 3-4 new Lilly items for each of us to freshen up or spring/summer wardrobes. I am not buying anything this year due to it being available at Target. I liked Lilly because it was cute, fun, and special. Prostituting it out to Target now makes it no longer special IMHO.
To those who bought it and are happy with it congrats and enjoy. Personally I will just buy more Vineyard Vines this year when I need/want summer clothes that are fun.
I don't know who this person is, or what the hoopla was about, but why do you consider them knockoffs if they are made by the same designer? A knockoff would be a fake, right? Not the actual brand.
Thanks for the laugh. If you liked it because it's cute and fun, you wouldn't care where you could buy it.
Unless you mean costly, the Target stuff is much more limited than any regular Lilly stuff (excluding vintage) so I guess that makes it more special.
I find Vineyard Vines at TJs and Marshalls all the time.
LizClaiburne did the same thing when it left Dept stores and went to Penny'sBuying last years stuff at TJ Maxx and Marshalls is one thing. Creating a line for a discount store cheapens the brand to me personally. Yes, Lilly was cute and fun and special to me. Once it went to Target it is no longer special in my book.
I don't mind spending money on clothes as they make me happy and I can afford it. I would never buy clothes at Target. This diminished the brand in my eyes and I am reflecting that displeasure by moving on to other designers.
To those people who choose to and like to buy clothes at Target then this is good for them if they want this year's Lilly at a reasonable price. I choose not to. Different strokes for different folks. What is important to you to spend money on is probably not important to me. That is why there are so many choices out there.
I hope you enjoyed your laugh, but it made me sad to see that you could buy Lilly at Target.
