Any killer Car rental deals for October yet????

I JUST got a good rate at National...just minutes ago. Now the system is not responding, so maybe they are making changes. I got a intermidate rate for 2 weeks for a total of $347. I know it's not cheap, but this is the first time I've seen the rates drop. My base amount is $159 a week, plus with code 6100253 it took off 10%, plus ND41 took off $20. I have a full size with Dollar for $313, for about $30 more, I'll gladly take National....especially since we are still Executive Aisle members, so I can't get anything smaller than a full size and don't have to wait in line. Hope the price continues to drop. I have tried to check my daughter's dates, but the site is down at the moment! So lets keep our fingers crossed that the rates start dropping like the gas prices are.

BTW: My dates are Oct 14 (6PM) to Oct 27 (4:30PM). I tried from my daughter who arrives on Oct. 22 and the rates are high for her. So many her will drop this time next week.

good question...i'm not sure...

the offer popped up when I tried to book after using a code that was blacked out...

you'll know you find it when a red box appears as to "city special".

on my confirmation it's listed as rate code RWUW8.

now it came up for compact, full size & mini van too.

Hmmm, I can't get anything to pop up at all. What code that was blacked out were you using? I try KISS2 and it tells me nothing is available and gives me no other options. It must like you better LOL.

give good results...hope something works for you.

strange, the "city deals" don't always pop up...did you try going thru the specials, fl, MCO page instead of booking from main page.

Good grief, I give up!!!!!!!!! I have tried everything, and I can't get it. I just checked National again, and they still stink for me! I think I'll just have to stick to my Alamo full size at $250. Oh, I just looked at it again, and it's $229 not $250. At least I have something.

Thank you :cool1:

I just used KISS2 to reserve at Dollar for 10/12-10/14 for $81.00 (cheapest I have found so far)!

Thanks again :thumbsup2

That is crazy, because according to our tickers we are leaving about the same time. We actually arrive late Oct. 14 now. I can get a full size with Dollar for $118 a week before fees and taxes, but I just switched to national for EA for $159 before you subtract the 10% and $20 coupon and before taxes and fees -- I have $347 for 14 days, EA. Keep trying. I used KISS2 for a full size for dollar and for National I used contract code 6100253 and coupon ND41 ($20).

Ah, that would be the difference. You must have missed my earlier post that said that I never corrected my ticker, it's a week off  , sorry about that. I arrive on the 7th.

What a drag, that the rates are so much better for the time you are there! That is the week we'll be there next year, but we had to do a week early this year.

I'm down to $209.35 for 8 days, on the Emerald Aisle.... 5-13 October. I'm beginning to think that's as good as I'm going to get. I have 5 days and 1 day booked, to offset the cost of it all, but in the end I think it's going to be a bigger PITA to drop off and re-pick up than to have it the whole week.

:::sigh::

The best I can do right now at National, is $260 for an intermediate with the AAA code. AAA just sent me an offer to become a member again today, with temporary membership cards that expire 11/30/06. It has a place for me to sign on the back and says they are effective immediately (for towing etc of course when I pay them). Do you think National would use these for the AAA discount if they ask?

Of course that's still $30 higher than my Alamo rental for one class lower, but I could hope that there are bigger cars on the EA?!?!

My two week reservation (OCT 15-29) has been stuck at $405 for awhile... today I checked and it finally went down to $371. That's with emerald club code 5007125 and their $20 off coupon ND41. It's for the Emerald Aisle. I'm hoping it goes down even more. The first week of June I paid $128 for a week. :surfweb:

I am newby here but we went through Carrentals.com and Got a great quote. A van 7 days total with taxes 207. Just thought I would throw that out there.

Welcome! Thanks for the tip!
Do you know what company you will be getting your rental through?

Yes actually we will be renting through ALAMO. I am loving it.

thanks for tip, went to their site...can't see where it lets you know ahead of time if it will be in-terminal or off-site via shuttle...does your ressie indicate which it is?

At this point, I'm willing to give it a try!

I have a feeling that September travel dates might have something to do with the rate, though. Hopefully I'm wrong!

my $212 for the Emerald Aisle is cheaper than this site.

Maybe I'll try that KISS2 code and see what I get at Dollar.

I got $26.99 per day for a Premium car (Chrysler Pacifica or similar) for Dollar using the KISS2 code. I'd prefer to go with Hertz (I'm a gold member with them) but for the savings (and a bigger/nicer car) I'll try Dollar this time. I can't complain about $26 for a PCAR! (rental mid October)

Hi everybody! I have been reading this thread and I too booked through Dollar with the KISS2 promo. Got a good rate, but when I read on someone's post on here about the corporate code oi1054 (Orlando Magicard), I was like "Cool Beans....I have the Magicard....I'll call and add the code to my ressie & get a free driver!!!! But when I called they said I can't!! :sad2: They said I could use one or the other but not both, and using just the other code (oi1054) brought my TOTAL to like $75 MORE :furious: so I told them to just keep the first one (KISS2) :furious:

Interesting. I haven't seen anything that others haven't been able to use both. Did you try booking online and using both? Their system does allow it online...

These rental companies are such a bummer!

can't rent a van for my dates w/dollar. none available. no full size cars either :badpc:
