Any killer Car rental deals for October yet????

I'm hoping for the same thing - can't wait to check tomorrow!

Does Alamo update their Hot Deals on Tuesday, too?
Yes - their website says the current hotdeals need to be booked by 9/25...so they should be putting out their new rates too. I'm thinking they HAVE to drop. When I was playing around with different dates to check what the Hot Deals are doing now they were actually higher than the ressies I currently hold! Let's all keep our fingers crossed. I'd like to see mine at at most $300. I could deal with that. Anything lower would be a bonus...higher would be a disappointment.

To All: Come back here and let us know if you get any great rates!

Just checked, nothing yet. Can you tell I'm impatient????? LOL! I was so spoiled by my $132 8 day full size rental from last year.

any idea when National/Alamo updates the site?

edited to add: they're updated now.... my rates didn't improve

I just booked with Dollar using the oi1054 code and Kiss2 and got the rate of 176.02 for 8 days "intermediate" I'll keep playing around to see if I can do better.

Mine actually went up using the National "Hot Deals" because I can't use the code where I get 10% off. How disappointing...guess my rate is the rate I am stuck with... :(

Those rates are terrible! I guess I am just destined to pay double what I paid last year, phooey!

Erika: I was just looking again at National's "great rates" and realized that they don't cover our dates! The deals before this ran 2 weeks so I figured that is what these would do also...but they trumped me and these rates are only good for a week....so our dates will be in the next batch! There is still HOPE!

Here's what National's website says:
For this week, National Car Rental offers great rates in the following cities:
Rates are valid from Tuesday, September 26, 2006 through Monday, October 2, 2006
for rentals between Tuesday, September 26, 2006 and Tuesday, October 10, 2006.

The same applies for Alamo!

indeed, the "specials" are much higher than my prior ressies:confused3

have booked a week rental @ Grovesnor beginning Monday instead of our arrival date, compact $121...guess we can take a cab over to pick up if we decide to keep it. At least we could use the discount codes. Would have been over $400 @ MCO for 8 days!

At least we can drop it @ MCO on way home. Who knows,we might enjoy ME so much, we'll cancel it:rolleyes: altogether.
Still hope codes are forthcoming.

After I ran it, I noticed it didn't cover all of my dates either.
We'll have to see what they do. Geez, by next Tuesday we are really cutting it close!

ME is nice, cuz it's free, but we thought it was kind of a pain. I don't like leaving for the airport so darn early, or all the waiting we did to get on the bus, or while other resorts got on the bus.

Do you leave on the 15th?

For the love of Sam.... I just realized it doesn't cover my travel dates either

It didn't do me any good on a daily rental returned at the Dolphin, either. I tried picking up the car on the 5th and returning it on the 8th, and the per day rate was much higher than the last-minute special. I'm guessing these rates are only good for pick up and drop off at MCO?

Yep, 7th to the 15th. Apparently prime car rental time... :confused3
Sorry, I misread your ticker. I thought you left for Disney on the 15th. You hit Columbus Day on the 9th...that might be the reason for the higher rate. I don't know why as Columbus traveled by boat though...

Actually, you didn't misread anything  , I never updated my ticker from last years October trip, when I did leave on the 15th. Whoops!!!!!!!!!! Sorry about that. Even so, the deal are only until October 10th, so halfway through my trip. Oh well.

I just found out my FIL won't watch my dog now, so I can add $180 in kennel fees to my $250 car rental!

did you check out dollar, the codes don't work for our arrival date of 10/8 (sun), but pay-off for arrivals on 10/9 (columbus day)...go figure:confused3

Yep, no KISS2 for October 7th either, all sold out.

try this in your ressie for dollar (pops up as a special city rate when I priced things out over the last few days, for several different rate classes):

PC: 687
RC: RWUW8

brought down rate for intermediate for 8 days to $217

Do those 2 numbers both get entered together? I put the PC in the promo code box, but can't find a place to put the other code. With just the 687, it's giving me a total of $304.

good question...i'm not sure...

the offer popped up when I tried to book after using a code that was blacked out...

you'll know you find it when a red box appears as to "city special".

on my confirmation it's listed as rate code RWUW8.

now it came up for compact, full size & mini van too.
