Any killer Car rental deals for October yet????

Picking up at Dolphin Hotel or WDW Car Care Center brings up cheaper rates in October than renting at airport. You can still RETURN the car to the airport on your final day and keep the better rate.

nothing for my dates yet...somewhat discouraged that even the last min. deals (thru Oct. 3 for alamo) are no better than what I have booked now.

mousesavers hasn't moved in ages.

honestly thought with more folks using ME they'd have cars to move - galore???

other than supply & demand, how can the rates be more than double than 3 months ago in June/July?

I'm stressin...come join me.;)

I'm disappointed as well.... I'm paying more for 5 days this year than I did for a full week last year. I'm happy with my $120.76 for the 5 days, all things considered.... I'm hoping to see a drop in the next week or so!

I found the exact opposite to be true. renting from the airport and dropping off at the Dolphin was cheaper for me.

At least it was the last time I checked ;)

10 days rental of a full size van foe 280.00 thru thrifty...I think this is a n awsome deal.......Oct 1-10 ...Checked rates again and now same rental is $500.00 plus!!!!!!

Nothing is dropping...and when I do the "hot deals" and use the dates that qualify in September to equal our travel dates the rates are HIGHER than what I have booked too! I think that means we probably won't see a drop. I am hoping I am wrong...but it is so disheartening. I thought by now I would see a drop in cost for our vacation that is less than 30 days away... :(

I think I'm paying a lot compared to other rentals I've had with National, but then I see what other people are paying.
We have 10 days for $182. (National)

I thought the same thing.

This time last year, it seemed like the rates were dropping hourly. In fact, I think they were!

I just booked 7 day minivan rental with Dollar for Oct 1st-8th for 180 bucks... It popped up at 420, but with KISS2 went down to 180... No the best price we have gotten but not the worst. Esp considering I booked it 2 days ago!

I so wish I could get that KISS2 code to work, but it appears Dollar is sold out for those of us going Columbus Day week.

I called Dollar inquiring why I could book a vehicle w/o any codes/ids for my dates but, when I tried to apply them the vehicle became "unavailable".

They have black out days for codes...can't remember the dates exactly but, close to 2 weeks beginning of Oct...grr.

SO it looks like we snuck in... since I booked using the KISS2 just the other day for the first Week in OCt...

Sorry you guys are having a hard time finding a cheap rental....

Good luck, and keep looking!

glad someone got a bargin:thumbsup2

even my DH who never gets involved in the planning, keeps asking if I've gotten a deal yet (my reputation is @ stake LOL)
hope springs eternal on the DIS board.

I know about 'reputation' I wish you the best of luck...

All I can say is keep plugging codes in at the the major car rental companies..

The KISS2 code works for me, but the rate actually comes out higher than if I used no code at all. I'm looking for an SUV...and the week rate is great ($198.99 base), but we need the car for 11 days - so tack on the extra 4 days at $44.99 and it doubles the great rate. :(

Dollar is sold out for out dates (Oct. 8-15), will probably cancel the res. I've got @ MCO; $200 is too much to pay IMO.

We're going to try ME from the airport, then pick up an intermediate @ the Dolphin for the weekend (thurs noon - on is what they consider weekend rates) & return to MCO.

Alamo was more than double National, we went with entertainment code & coupon for free day, wound up with $75.23 for 3 days...at least we'll have a car to transfer our stuff for split stay from BWV to CR & transport to MCO.

If anyone wants codes/coupon - let me know.
Where did you find the coupon for the free day? Is it something I can use?

Have never tried to priceline a car rental before...

Question...the $20/day you're referencing...do they tack taxes/airport fees, ect (all the goodies that add so much onto a regular rental)?

If so, do you know how much it would cost/add for a week/8 days?
Gosh - I'm sorry! I've been lax in reading old posts!

With Priceline you enter in a BASE price per day. They do show you a total before you bid on it. My $20 for 11 days is coming up with a total of around $300 (if they would pick it up!). You might want to try this option! I used Priceline to get a 1 day rental here where I live so we can pick up the rental car the day before we leave and that way we don't have to leave our car at the airport. Avis picked us up at $25 ($35-ish total). I wish I would have bidded lower, but I was new to Priceline when I did this. Give it a whirl! I don't know how they do on SUVs, but I do recall posts when the free dining was first starting that people were getting awesome rates on intermediate and smaller cars. The only drawback is you do have to pay for it immediately if your offer is picked up, and you cannot cancel it.

I hope this answers your questions. I will try to be better about reading through posts entirely...

I just booked a last minute weekend trip for next weekend. Used the BJ's 1 free day code and the AARP code to get 2nd driver free.
Intermediate, Emerald Aisle with National 3 1/2 days $82.00...total, renting at MCO.

mommy rn - 1st free day coupon I've got for National is good only on a weekend rentals (noon thurs on, return by mon. compact thru fullsize) this is thru entertainment id . 2nd is a free day w/5 day rental (compact thru fullsize) got @ sams id 5006031/coupon nf31.

I'm still confused as to priceline?? I guess I'm trying to determine what the final price would be in addition to my bid per day price...would hate to get stuck with another $100 additional costs. Can you specify In-terminal rental too?

shoes99, pretty good rate IMO. DH qualifies for AARP, just resists carrying a card LOL, since it's EA - don't think you'd have to present it anyway.

We don't have bj's in our area, I was told it's a club store ala sams/costco...are their rates lower?

Rates are all over the place. I have another trip booked for 7 days at the end of October. The AMEX code 5125601 was way better than the AARP code, but no second driver free. I also used the $20 coupon from the Ent Book. Compact car at National at the airport, 7 days, $166.95.

KISS2 at Dollar is $134.73 for a compact for 7 days end of October, beginning of Nov.

Thanks for the info!

With priceline just enter what you want to pay base per day. As you go through the system it will tell you what your final price would be. If it is too high you can just browse back and change it. So you put $20 in and the end total is $300 and you think that is too high...then you can click the back button and put in $16 and see what that is. Does that make sense??? I'm a much better teacher when I can show visuals :teeth:

I believe the rental companies they deal with are all in terminal - but I could be wrong. They check through Alamo, National, Budget, Hertz and Avis. It appears through the Orlando Airport website all of those are interminal except Hertz. Unfortunately you would be at risk of Hertz picking up your bid though...and therefore you would have to go offsite.

HTH! Thanks again for the info and codes!
