Any killer Car rental deals for October yet????

Ok, so i found the best i can find for what i need just now. I did find out its much cheaper to rent starting on Sept 30th for me, as thats the day i arrive, and keep it till Oct 15th. I was only going to rent from the 8th thru 15th, but sometimes more than if i rented for 16 days! crazy huh???

Anyway i folded and took a ressie for Dollar rent a car for 158.00/wk for a mini van. After tax and assorted BS total came to 475 for 15 days. I took it and ran, i'm just getting too frustrated. I used the OCVB code (and i'm a dollar member). I dont know if its multiple drivers and at this point i dont care lol.

Good luck, spread me the pixie dust if anyone finds it cheaper!!

Liz

Has anyone ever heard of rental car companies such as Advantage Rental, EZ Rental??? From the MCO they have shuttle service to their lots, their rates are good at times when checking Travelocity. Would like to know if anyone has had good or bad experiences either way. Right now I have a 9 day minivan rental for $305.00 for Oct. 11-20th. Any feedback is appreciated!

well my rate for 475.00 for 16 days does NOT include second driver. I have a question tho...what happened IF i did drive? i carry insurance and stuff, what could they do if i had a wreck. I find it crazy and do not feel bad at all driving without paying that stinking 8 bucks a day if i'm already paying them 500 for 2 lousy weeks! (DO I SOUND BITTER?)

If you aren't listed as an authorized driver on the car, I believe there would be insurance repercussions in the event of a major accident???

good question though, anyone know for sure?

Hey Liz,
I know the dates for your rentals...but not the time. I just decided to ck Dollar to see if the Magicard # changes your price at all. I used the times September 30, 2006 at 10am till October 15, 2006 at 10am. It gave me $447.58/total for a minivan. I used the OCVB code and the Orlando Magicard oi1054 corporate card. Using that corporate card code gives you the free driver you were looking for. You can download a free Magicard at http://www.orlandoinfo.com/magicard/index.cfm?act=download . I really hopes this helps! I'm so behind I didn't realize you leave in less than a week (is September really almost over?!?). I'm so jealous!

I'm getting jealous of everyone's rates LOL, stupid black-out dates.

still, I'm feeling lucky...this week will be it for new codes:banana:

Ok mommyrn thanks so much, i'm about to retry the code.

I did find if i picked up my van at the GROSVENOR (near downtown disney) on Monday afternoon vs Sunday afternoon it saves us 125.00. Does anyone know how to get there from epcot during our lunch break? Or is it to far and to much trouble??

easiest & fastest...catch a cab @ Epcot (or walk to Y&BC or BW & get one there) depending on where you are in the park.

bus to DTD & then a pretty good walk to Grosvenor.

good luck.

10/9 (11am) - 10/14 (6pm) Dollar Economy 120 total.

used KISS2

when did you book, I called Dollar & they said the dates around Columbus day were blacked out...perhaps I'll try calling again.:confused3

Ugh! I just tried to get an Emarald Aisle car from National for the last week of October and was quoted for $331. That's insane! That was using the BJ's discount. I am going to have to play around or use someone else.

I like National too, but dollar.com is the only place -- at the terminal -- that I've found a decent rate. I have a full size, 2 weeks for a total of $313, includes all taxes and fees. Using the Kiss2 code.

i was able to book a regular sized suv from alamo for sept 30 thru oct 15 (pick up 11am return 5pm) for 430.00 total.....

does anyone know if i can squeeze in 4 huge suitcases in the back of an suv?? (plus our 4 carryons) i dont mind stacking as long as its safe for the backseat people.

thanks!

Ok Take the SSR bus and get off at Congress Hall bus stop , there is a walk way over to DTD as you get off the bus to the left and end of buildings. :goodvibes

I was going to rent from Advantage and did a search for reviews. I read some really terrible reviews and thought better of it. You can google them or read on epinions.

I don't have any personal experience, but some of the reviews seemed quite credible to me.

Nurseepoo, they usually say 2 large and 2 small suitcases in an SUV. Yikes. I'd say try to get an idea from Alamo regarding which type of SUV they call "regular", then head to Walmart parking lot and find one that's parked, give it the once-over.

I don't think it's that long of walk to the Grosvenor. No further that American Adventure to the front of Epcot.

Just wanted to let you know that the current National "Hot Deals" expires today so they should be coming for us now. It looks like the new ones should run Tuesday, October 3rd - Tuesday, October 17th. Maybe you will find something better and can stick with National then! Good luck!

I'm hoping for the same thing - can't wait to check tomorrow!

Does Alamo update their Hot Deals on Tuesday, too?
