*This year will be our first year going to WDW, we're heading down end of June, early July. We're staying at POR, and HIFS so far, but we're in need of a good place for 5 people!!
Can you help me out!! We're also looking for a GOOD rate!! Those US dollars can really get you!!
*Thanx*:D

Hi disneytink, I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean that you need another place in addition to POR and HIFS to stay?

I have stayed at POR and have had a room with the trundle bed for a 5th person. The trundle bed is suitable for a child or a shorter adult as it's not quite as long as the double bed that it fits under. My younger teenage son used it two years ago as he doesn't like sleeping with his brother and although he just fit, he managed okay.

If you are already booked at POR, be sure to have your TA call back and get you the Canadian at par rate.

Thanks very much for your replies you've been alot of help!!! :) 42 DAYS AND COUTING!! :)))

Is the @ PAR deal for sure? And if it is, do you have any information on it?

I was looking at the cdn disneyworld web site this morning and the at par deal is listed there under the tickets and packages I think. The fine print says that you pay in US dollars but it's based on an exchange rate of $0.62. The example they use is a $77US room would cost approx. $47 US instead which I think is a good rate although I'm not sure if we can afford to go again so soon.

Just wanted to update everyone about the At-Par promo. It is not technically a straight At-Par deal because it is based on rack rate, and a backwards way of figuring out the exchange rate. Despite this confusion, I was able to save some money - imagine saving money at Disney!

1. Booked 4 nights (last month) July 24-28 at All-Star Music using summer saver code $74.00 per night. My total price with tax was $332.00 US.

2. I called tonight to inquire about new Canadian promo. With the new CWH code (as found on Disney's website), I was quoted $61.38 per night. My total price with tax is now $275.00 US. Since I have already paid a deposit based on old price, I will now owe less upon check-out as they are applying this amount to my total.

3. I spoke with an awesome cast member who put in the new code, and it produced a savings of $57.00 US. This might not seem like a lot, but it is basically a free night, and with the exchange rate, it works out to be a Canadian savings of $98.00 based on the total price!

As others have said, you have to do a little bit of math to see if this promo will work for you. It really depends on what codes and discounts you are using. By the way, as others have also said, Disney is kind of doing the exchange/at-par thing in a backwards way. The cast member that I spoke with said that they were all confused at first with what Disney has done, but for the most part, most people are finding some kind of savings.

Good luck, and I hope that some people find this info useful in some way.

Thank you so much for the info!! We were very confused about it, but it looks like now we might end up saving!! Hopefully we'll keep our fingers crossed and contact CRO asap! :) I'll update on what we get with POR if anything!! Good Luck to everyone else using the @PAR deal hopefully it'll be a summer for the Canadians!

YIPPEE !!!! I called CRO tonight to find out availability for the at par deal. We had 13 nights booked in at ASMu starting Sept 28th with an AP rate of $60.37/night including taxes. I was able to get the exact same booking (tried for ASMo which would be our first choice at AllStars but couldn't get it with the AP code either) and my new rate with the $77 rack rate X the .62 exchange rate and with tax is $54.47/night. But hey, even a savings of $7/night US converts to approx $144 Cdn for the 13 nights. For our family of 4, that's going towards a character meal or two ! I know there are some people on the boards that wouldn't get excited about $7/night, but we Canadians certainly know what that is really worth ! Our trip is still not a definite (gotta buy new passes - OUCH), but it just keeps getting better and better ! I'd say we are now 96% sure we are going ! Guess maybe I should now download the counter that SandraC has ! Hope everyone has as much luck as we did. :D

We just booked a 6 night stay that I never would have been able to talk my DH into without this deal. I did not think we would be going again this soon as we went on our honeymoon in Oct. I am so excited!:bounce: :bounce:

Hi Maryliz:

$7.00 u.s. at l3 days really adds up in canadian dollars. Good luck, have fun.

Deb.

I'm not sure about you guys, but CRO is VERY confused about the deal!! It took me almost half hour to teach HER about it! HaHa either way we'd save around 100$US on POR! BUT we're booked before july 4! Hope this helps someone else out:
(This is for a moderate)*You have to pay 154$(Rack Rate) multiplied by (0.62) which turns out to be 95.48 a night US!

disneytink - Just to clear an error, the $95.48 you were quoted is in CAN. funds based on a US rack rate of $154.00. You are right - they are a bit confused because of the backwards way that Disney is figuring out the exchange rate. Regardless of this, as I already mentioned, for those of us who go to Disney in the summer, there seems to be savings to be had - it just requires a bit of math to figure out how much!

Tiger

No that's US$ (which is $154/night Canadian). The Rack Rate is $154 US so for us to get it at par ($154 CAD) it's $95.48 US.

Is there a time limit for the @Par deal? I'm looking at going in December.]

HHGhost

Sorry, HHGhost, the at-par deal is only until the end of September. I'm delighted since I can never take advantage of the Passes deal that you will (likely) be able to do. Also, watch the specials as they come out. It will depend entirely on when you are going in December as to any deals that can be had. Have fun!

You're right DisneyLisa - I was leaving to go away for the long weekend and read the message quickly. I just got back home, so I greatly apologize for the confusion that I may have caused with my backwards message!
