Thank you all, you have all reinforced what I suppose I was too resigned to accept... We may not get boardwalk this year, we really wanted to stay there this year, but as you all rightly say it is too much!

I have taken the advice of contacting member satisfaction team in case they can offer any ideas/solutions, the 7 day prior also sounds interesting but I suppose it leaves us open to having to take our original itinerary if nothing comes up.

For the marathon this year, we were waitlisted for a one bedroom villa at BLT. I called every so often to see if the waitlist had come through. No dice. We changed to the seven day waitlist once the 30 day waitlist expired. No dice. I called daily to see if anything had come through. Nothing. We were at OKW which we love and it was fine, but BLT might have been a bit more convenient for the marathon.

so just because some one said they got lucky and got what they needed the day before they left, doesn't mean you will be lucky. See what you can get for seven nights and go with that this year.
