Going to Disney in July, staying at AKL with NB (10 months old) any great ideas of things to do with an infant this young? Hoping he loves the vacation, any ideas would be great.

Thanks:earsboy:

We just took our wee one to the Magic Kingdom after our Disney Cruise in March. She was 10 months as well.

I'd say it depends on the child, but our Daughter LOVED the Rides at the Magic Kingdom. We were traveling with another couple and their 15 month old, and she wasn't so fond of them. Snow White's Ride scared her, while our daughter wasn't bothered by it at all. Both of them LOVED all the people and the bright things to look at and the Music. I'm sure he'll love it.

One thing to keep an eye on....It was pretty hot when we were there, and our Daughter got overheated even though we did our best to keep her in the shade and all the things that you are supposed to do. She got very lethargic and sleepy and when we went to the First Aid area, her Temperature was close to 103. We used cold compresses, gave her some tylonol and spent some time in the Baby Care building to coo her down and she did fine the rest of the day with breaks at the baby care building or inside for meals. Just be sure to keep an eye on your wee one and make sure he stays hydrated and as cool as possible!

I would also like to hear any other ideas. We are leaving this Saturday :) with our 10 month old son. I think he will be fairly easy-going, but I would still like to hear any ideas. The only part I am a little nervous about is the plane ride, and having to control a very hyper 10 month old that will not sit in your lap for 5 seconds!!!! Thanx!

Hi. For the plane ride, try to find the window clings -- they come in all varieties of characters (Disney and non) and other shapes. This will usually keep a small one entertained for awhile, sticking and re-sticking them to the plane window. Also maybe a couple of new (interesting), small toys. Hope this helps a little bit. Have a great trip and say "Hi" to Mickey for me.

Thanks for the heads up about hydration. This was one concern that I have been having, especially since July will be pretty hot. I bought a couple squirt bottles with fans on them to spray him with. I will definitely keep a close eye on him.

We also will be flying with our ten month old, and I am going to be taking some new toys to introduce to him on the plane, that way maybe he will be occupied for awhile. Luckily we only have a two hour flight straight through, so hopefully it won't be that bad. He is a really good baby, and loves to be out and around people. I also heard that it is good to give them a bottle while taking off and landing, that way they will be sucking and hopefully their ears won't be as bad.:earsboy:
