any glasses wearing DisBrides??

Like some of the girls said (and thanks so much for being so sweet!!) , I did wear my glasses. I love trendy glasses and have been wearing them for many years. I thought and thought over whether or not to wear them or not. However, when it came down to making a decision, I didnt want to look back at photos that looked like someone else. If I hadn't worn my glasses-- it wouldnt have been ME in those photos, you know what I mean?

Photographers have a great way of keeping the light from glaring off of them. I didnt have any issues with the light in any of my photos!!

I hope you make the best decision for you!

By the way, Im blind as a bat too!! LOL:hippie:

See I tried on my dress with different glasses that I had at the time (before I got the ones in the wedding shot)-- however, I would have been comfortable wearing any type of glasses.

Just
Last year when we went to WDW I wore my contacts and DF wore his glasses... he kept having to take them off for rollercoasters, and I wouldn't be able to stand that!

you know...I actually don't need to take off my glasses for rides! I was always super paranoid about losing them, but my dad has worn glasses for 50 years now (and he is a roller coaster freak) and never lost his glasses. He kept reassuring me that they would stay on---and they've made it several times through Rock n Roller! :hyper:

Yay! I'm glad you commented!! When you were mentioned as wearing glasses, I searched for your TR! :) You are so adorable that you could pull off anything, but it was definitely reassuring to see someone in my type of glasses! Mine are actually closer to what you were wearing in the "try on" picture. Those are the type of glasses I've worn for years..and I just don't look like myself without them. You have totally inspired me!

I love the silver frames you picked to wear, Maggie!! Contacts are evil for me too because I have a stigmatism. I tried gas permeable ones and they felt like broken glass in my eyes!!!

I don't even own contacts! I just wear my glasses, and until reading this post it had never occurred to me that I could (or should) buy a new pair of glasses for my wedding. I think I am going to start hunting for a "bridal" pair of glasses.

I love people's glasses in the posted pictures. Thanks for posting them!

Bestla, thanks for starting such a great thread!

Aww thanks! :goodvibes Who knew my vanity could do so much good?!

Don't feel like you need to buy new glasses...however if you want to buy new ones, it's a great excuse for shopping! And shopping of any kind is wonderful thing. ::yes::

You're the one I was thinking of earlier!

I didn't even realize people had such trouble with contacts! I guess I've been wearing them for ten years or so now I can't even remember when I first starting wearing them or what it was like.

My Matron of honor just got married in October and she wears glasses and wore them for the wedding... because they are what she usually wears. She said if she didn't wear them, she wouldn't be "Jen".

Hi everyone! Great topic for a thread.

I am a groom.... I feel like I am crashing. Shhhh...:rolleyes1

I have been wearing glasses since I was about 10. I tried contacts a few years after my wedding (1988 or there abouts) and my eyes rejected them in the wierdest and grosest way possible. My quality of vision is best with glasses and I am almost "as blind as a bat!" without them.

Within the last few weeks I have updated my lenses and again got "Transitions" lenses that automatically shade/darken in sunlight. Cam and I are doing out DFTVR in January 2009. I was afraid that our 6 AM Magic Kingdom photo session would show me not only in glasses, but in shades. :cool2: Not the picture I (nor my lovely wife) would want. So, I asked my optometrist for a disposible pair of contacts I can wear for the photo session and (if they are comfortable) for the ceremony too.

My previous pair of glasses also had "Transition" lenses also so reverting back to those for the photo session isn't an option. The pair prior to that would not be very helpful for my vision unfortunately.

I agree that comfort for the Bride is paramount. :worship: The brides pictured in the photos on this thread are beautiful.

Congratulations to those who are now wed and for those about to be.

Howard, you are so sweet! I wish more DH/DFs would stop by!

Psh! You're not crashing!! Thanks for the input!

I'm with you on the contacts. I have tried soooo many kinds, and none of them have really worked. My doctor actually told me at one point that if I continued to wear contacts (I started when I was 16), my eyes would be completely destroyed by the time I was 30. I don't know if my eyes were really that bad or if he was just super anti-contacts--but his fear tactics WORKED! :rotfl:

Couldn't you just get a pair of glasses with normal lenses?? I bet your eyeballs would prefer you go that route. :goodvibes

Although I suppose that would be a mighty expensive investment for only a couple hour photo shoot.

HOWARD!!!
You should always drop by!!

We heart you!

Here are some pics from my e-shoot with Randy (with my glasses on obviously) and I just noticed that DF was wearing glasses too (glasses are fun :3dglasses ) I think our pics are fabulous so you shouldn't worry about wearing your glasses.

I caved to the pressure and did something that I had been wanting to do for ages. I got lasik about 3 months before our engagement shoot. I have to tell you I have not been able to see the clock beside my bed since I could not remember when. The day after the surgery I could see everything. It was beyond description. It is hard to believe that my eyes were ever that bad.
