Any free parking for handicap at boardwalk with...

The valet parking fee is waived at all Disney Resorts for anyone with a valid handicap tag.

Bring your photo ID as they can request it. They never have but they can as the name on the handicap placard must be in the car when parking.

Also, make sure you check your room account. The valet operation at BWI/BWV charged us the daily fee even though the handicap tag was hanging on the rear view mirror. The front desk reversed the charge with no questions asked.

This makes me nervous. We've never valet parked, even though we're eligible for free valet parking, due to our handicap tag. How did your room get charged? Do they ask for your room # when you park? Not only have we not used valet, we've never charged anything to our room (boy, are we old-fashioned!)

All they asked for was name, so I guest they matched that to the reservation. Fortunately, I received a copy of the room charges via email before we checked out which made getting it removed much easier. So far this has only happened to us once and it's possible that particular person from the valet company was new and didn't know the policy.

Was your theme park parking voucher ( the one issued by the resort when you check in) in the front window? That is likely how they got your room acct info.

My placard does not have my name (or anyone's name) on it. Plus, all resorts have reserved parking for disabled guests. You don't have to use valet.

On our trip in Sept, they stopped giving out the window signs. They now scan your magic band.

I think this varies from resort to resort. Our October trip at BWV still had window signs.

At BCV in October, they scanned your MB and also checked your ID (to make sure you weren't just borrowing a friend's MB). Although they had Handicapped parking places in the BCV self-parking, they only had about 5 handicapped parking spaces. DH was surprised, thinking that there had to be a certain % of handicapped spaces for a hotel.

I am at Boardwalk this week and they are still giving out the window signs.

When you do online check-in you go direct to the room. When found that the guards no longer have the window signs so we just went without. It caused more delays at the parks because they scan your MB unless you have a AP card to wave at them.

As far as I know, when you don't do credit cards on your room, you don't get online checkin.

I used to always put a card on my room. Twice I had my card compromised, once with over $7k in charges (all reversed), so Disney doesn't get my card anymore. I go to the desk. Usually no wait and my room was ready Sunday morning and was in my preferred location. This was around 11am. I make no requests in advance and have had a few rooms that I didn't particularly love, but in general haven't been affected greatly by not doing online checkin.

You can ask for a parking pass if it is not offered.

Honestly, I don't recall if we got one during that stay or not.

I did online checkin for my stay arriving 10/22. I was given a window pass when I pulled in. I ended up going to the front desk since I didn't get a text when I arrived around 1:00pm. The cm offered me another window pass but I said I already had one. To my surprise, my room was ready. When I got to the room, I looked at my phone and I had the text. My friend was arriving on DME later so I tagged my luggage. Wasn't delivered until after 7:00.

It looks like resorts are different still. We stayed at two resorts, AKV-Jambo and SSR, and guards didn't have the window pass.
