I am a feedback junkie. I love to read the feedback and see the negative comments, retaliatory remarks and back and forths. There are some real lulus out there! Also, at what point do YOU decide the seller (or buyer) has too many negatives to even bother with? I was looking up some items today and one seller has 79 negatives in the last 12 months (5 within this last month). Sorry, but I won't bid from him/her.

I also like to check out what other people are buying. One of my buyers has also bought lots of , ahem, adult "costumes" recently. Holy moly. :rotfl2: I would be SOOOO embarassed if people could see any type of purchase like that, no matter what the reason. She had purchased at least a dozen. I was sooo tempted to ask if she ran a brothel or was trying to save a marriage.

So.. anybody else do this, or am I as weird as these people?

I sell on eBay and feedback is my bread and butter. Unfortunately you get some buyers who use it to just be MEAN!

If I'm buying from someone I read them with a grain of salt and see what the complaint is. If they complain about "fraud" or "slow shipping" I don't buy from them. If they nitpick, and believe me some do, I decide what to do from there.

I had 100% for years when some nitwit complained about something she could've asked me about first and gave me my first neg... :furious: I've since not let it get to me so personally, you cannot please everyone.

I have over 600 now and am at 99.7%. Trying to KEEP it that way is HARD!!

I read and send feedback. It's really the only way you can tell about a buyer/seller. 5 negatives in one month would make me run.

I read feedback, absolutely..

This is one I do as well...if someone outbids me, I always look them up, read their feedback and see what else they are bidding on, it educates me on what kind of buyer they are and how high will they go..

Me too, I am very critical of feedback! I have 100% (I sell as a hobby not a job so easy to go the extra mile w/ pretty packaging, communication, etc) - & am a good buyer too! I will not buy from someone w/ bad or even mediocre feedback.

I'll go in to check for negs and then end up peeking at their purchases! I'm so nosey! :teeth:

I buy a lot of video games and I know that a lot of younger kids and younger adults are the bread and butter for these sellers. Knowing that, I realize the sellers may have some unwarranted negatives, so I search out the responses that the buyer leaves and I check the feedback that the seller has left buyers who were unhappy. As long as it's professional and the % is high, I will normally bid and in over 5 years, I've not had a bad transaction yet.

My feedback is well over 300 and I have 100% positive and I have left 100% positive feedback.

I have no interest in following users around to see if they're bidding on adult material or what not though. That's simply none of my business.

I buy but don't sell - have thought about it but just haven't had the time. I will look to see if someone has negative feedback and if it is in the last month, I will go read it. I also check to see what kind of feedback they leave for others.

I always leave feedback for the people I buy from. Everyone I have dealt with has been so nice except for one flake that ended up getting kicked off ebay and my paypal payment was refunded to me - never left any feedback on that one - they got kicked off - what else could I say that would get the point across any clearer than that.

But I don't live by feedback either - if someone leaves feedback for me that's great but if they don't, that's fine to. I don't expect a high volume seller to take the time to give feedback to me for buying a $15 item. I mean I have to be realistic here - they are selling hundreds of things a week and usually for more than the item I purchased.

I always look at someone's feedback before I buy. I was looking at buying a video game for my son's b'day and the person with the game he wanted had over 90% positive. The problem was that they had several neutral's and some negatives in the past couple of months for slow shipping. I'm on a deadline so I passed on their auction.

Maybe it isn't your business, but ebay obviously thinks it might be or items wouldn't be linked and active for so long after a transaction.

Sometimes I'm curious to see if they have sold or bought similar items, esp. with two of the types of auctions I usually do. I like to see if they are perhaps "reps" of certain direct selling companies selling lots of that product on ebay. I certainly didn't go looking with salacious intentions. I was actually quite shocked to see the items since my auction was for children's clothing. These were REALLY risque! Call me naive and

I guess I just find some of the feedback comments pretty entertaining. I always check feedback when bidding or selling. Sometimes though, the "storylines" get heated, nasty and it's like a car accident. You can't turn away. I click and I keep going to see who said what. Depending on the "accusations" I'll check to see what item could have caused so much problems too. Like I said before, I've only been "surprised" once.

BTW, I have 100% positive feedback too. I should have left neutral on two (PITA buyers, trying to make their own conditions for shipping and payment methods AFTER bidding on an auction that CLEARLY had my terms stated) or negative so one girl who took two weeks to pay and lots of email. I didn't leave feedback at all for one and left positive, but a cryptic wording like "it all worked out" so people can (hopefully) see that it wasn't a carefree transaction.

You would love one of mine - I bought a poster from this guy, who listed it as mint. I thought it would be mint and arrive in a nice poster tube. Well, it arrived FOLDED in fourths and the creases were worn white. He was appalled that I wanted a full refund. We went round and round as he refused any refund. I put this info in my feedback - he responded by calling me a wretched witch, saying that I harassed him, that he offered a full refund ( he never did) and that I emailed him "satanic code" :rolleyes2 (does that even mean something :confused3 ?). I wasn't too worried, as I felt his ridiculous statements spoke for themselves...some people are just wacked!!!

I avoid anyone who seems to be rude or nasty once there is any kind of problem - if there are comments along these lines, I avoid them, . I have had this happen. People are just fine as long as they are getting your money, but just question or complain once and then you see their true nature - and it ain't pretty.

edited to add: at the time he had put his feedback as "private" so it was hidden - I went in to check a little while ago and it was private again, so he must be up to his old tricks.

It's so strange this thread came up today. I think I have a strange situation going on a e-bay. I bought a purse, I didn't bid, it was buy it now or best offer. I submitted an offer, it was accepted. It's been about 10 days, haven't received item, so I go to her or his feedback to read about previous transactions. I saw this negative feedback, person was charged and didn't receive item. I decide to see what they bought and didn't receive, it was the same purse I bought and paid for and have not received.

I thought about sending e-mail to seller but haven't. I guess if I don't receive soon I will notify e-bay. :confused3

I love reading the feedback too. If a seller has several, I look and see if the buyers tend to leave a lot of negative. I've found in many cases it it the same handful of buyers compalining about a lot of the sellers I am interested in.
One seller was balsted often for her taking too long to ship. Well it was custom made clothing, and several buyers complained it took 2 weeks to receive the items. I just can't understand what they think would be a reasonable turnaround for custom fitting/color clothing

I know what you are talking about, whenever I stumble across someone with a low feedback score I know I am in for some good reading! I find the most entertaining feedback wars in knockoff purse auctions.

I once was looking for kid party favors and found a seller who had terrible feedback and had the most insane responses to negative and positive ratings. I found myself still reading with tears in my eyes from laughter an hour later!

I do personalized embroidery, baby bibs, blankets or character towels, whatever and even though I put in my listing that it can take upto 2 weeks for delivery i have had negitive feedback for items taking upto 2 weeks, I feel like shouting read the ad. :confused3

I just had another, which I hold my hands up it was my fault, ( I immediatly stated I would get another one straight out to them, no extra cost) I had spelt the name wrong on a bib, human error it happens. But straight away this fella was in my face big time, what frightened me the most was he signed his email, after having a right go he put 'the darkeness is upon us', that freaked me out, I have put him on a blocked buyers list.
