All Savannah view studios are booked as well as value rooms and all that is left at AKV for my dates are standard view. Is there anyway I can still get Savannah view even if I book standard? Are some standard view rooms Savannah? If I ask can they put me in a regular Savannah hotel room as a free upgrade?

Also OKW (1 bedroom) and SSR (studio) are available for my dates. How do those compare to AKV. I have never stayed at any dvc resort. Thanks!

highly unlikely you will get a Savannah room. they are different booking categories, with different point requirements. Perhaps if a room was taken out of service for an emergancy repair, but that's a rare occurrance.

if you are staying on points, there is no such thing as a "free upgrade" (timeshares are different than hotels).

you can waitlist for a savanna view room but that's your best shot. (if you are renting, this is tougher for the DVC member to do and may not be an option.)

(if something is wrong with the standard view rooms such that AKV management cannot put anyone in them, there is a one in a million chance of being moved to a different room type...but that is a big longshot.)

OKW 1BR is HUGE (1000 sq ft) and has a nice relaxed beach cottage feel but no animals.

SSR has a nice luxury vibe to it (and you can walk to DTD from certain bldgs) but no animals.

:)

I believe Stan view are all non savannah views. Are you in Kidani or Jambo? Not that it would make much difference. Value studios offer the chance of getting a savannah view albeit in a smaller room.

Standard=view
Value=size
Savannah=view
Concierge = perks not view

Did you waitlist ?

No I did not wait list because I haven't rented the points yet because I am trying to decide what to do. Do I have a decent chance for savanna if I wait list or no??

Are the standard view rooms much bigger than the value??

When are you going? Waitlists do come through.

Standard rooms in Jambo are 3 ft. longer than value rooms. The difference is in the bed/living area.

Well, I am going to tampa the 27th to see my NY Giants play the Bucs, we wanted to head to disney from there but it looks like all AKV studios are booked for that night. So it looks like we will stay the night in Tampa and head to disney on monday the 28th and checkout the 1st of October.

That isn't much time for a waitlist, but there's more inventory to be put into the system. Enjoy the football game!

If you are not an owner and are renting a reservation from a member, the savanna view will require more points than the standard view. So if the member agrees to waitlist for the savanna view, they may charge you more money if the wait list comes through.

If you are booking directly through Disney, you won't be able to waitlist anything. Waitlisting is only for DVC members on points. And not developer points.
