Any cash discount for DVC members if paying for rooms?

I have a reservation booked around Christmas/New Years that has two days I was not able to get reservations for--I am waitlisted. Is there any discount for DVC members if I just purchase two nights of lodging somewhere in WDW for those two nights just in case the waitlist does not come through?

DVC does offer cash rooms at a 25% discount often times at all the DVC resorts. We have paid cash for the first night and had the ressie linked so we did not even have to move. I'm not sure if they are offered or how far in advance during peak/holiday times.

There is no discount on non-DVC rooms. They do offer the 25% off on DVC villas if it is available and it is not always available. If there is a waiting list, I would guess that the discount would not be available.

Here's what I've done for OKW reservations, when I booked my in-laws with very little advance notice while I was booked on DVC points:

Book the nights through member services on "cash" with DVC discount (telephoning it in) then waitlist for the same nights on your DVC points (telling MS your intent). There is no deposit due for doing this. If the waitlisted days come through, you will have the rooms on your DVC points and not on cash.

My waitlist came through for my in-laws and their entire stay came out of my DVC points. Good luck - I hope the same for you!
